Pat Utomi’s son’s wife, Maya Famoudu reveals tragic incident that made them decide to quickly get married without inviting many people

Maya Famodu Utomi, the wife of a politician, Pat Utomi’s son, Patrick, has revealed the tragic incident that happened that made them quickly get married.

Recall that NPG published their wedding photos last week. Some of her friends were surprised as they had no incline that the two lovebirds were getting married.

In a post shared on social media, Maya explained that they were expecting a baby when she suddenly began to experience complications. Patrick who was away, had to fly to Nigeria to be by her side. Sadly, they lost their baby.

She said the sad event revealed how much they need each other, so they decided to quickly get married at the Utomi’s home.

Read her post below

”It’s been less than a week since Pat and I got married, and we are so grateful for the support. Pat has a million friends and a loving relationship with everyone he meets, so I think he was ready for the outreach.

But I can honestly say, I didn’t expect this many people to go out of their way to send love and well wishes, and it means so much to the both of us. It’s brought me to tears several times.Thank you!

Most of you are asking about the wedding. We plan to do something small next year, but in the absence of that, we’d like to share our marriage story with you.

What most people don’t know is that Pat flew to Nigeria for an entirely different reason. I was 3 months pregnant and he flew in on an emergency flight to be with me as I was going through some complications.

These complications ended in two days of the worst physical pain I have ever experienced, and the loss of our little one. We’d thought we’d be counting fingers and toes, and instead had to say goodbye.

This event, though devastating, showed us how much we need each other, how important we are to each other, and how much we truly want to have a family.

God put us through this to remind us that we complete each other, and we’re ready for the next step.So we decided to get married.

The ceremony was a whole 30 minutes, at the Utomi’s home with only his parents and siblings, and a few of my loves ones zoom-ed in.

Many of you have asked for the wedding registry, or how you can celebrate our union. We don’t need new things.”

Alleged cocaine deal: Abba Kyari files fresh application seeking to strike out case

The suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari has filed a fresh application to strike out the drug trafficking charges preferred against him by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

In the motion filed by his counsel, Ikpeazu Ikpeazu, he argued that the alleged offense his client is being tried for was committed during a police investigation and the Police Service Commission (PSC) has the authority to discipline the offenders.

He said the five-count charge is similar or related to allegations previously made by the applicants’ Police Service Commission in respect of disciplinary action against police officers and it was for the same subject matter and for the same period.

“This charge against the applicants’ affected the completion of this constitutional procedure.

The application adds that the internal disciplinary action of the Police Service Commission provided by the Constitution against Abba Kyari and other applicants is a condition precedent before they can be charged by any other security agent/agency.

The disciplinary action by the Police Service Commission commenced earnestly and timely.

The applicants had previously answered a query issued to them by the police authority before the charge herein was filed against the applicants.

I know as a fact that the Police Service Commission has through the office of the IGP commenced the disciplinary procedure against the applicants and other defendants prior to the institution of this charge.

Without subjecting the applicants to the police disciplinary procedures that are constitutionally set down, the applicants are charged before the federal high court with counts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 8 under the NDLEA act and alleged to have committed the offenses in the course of the performance of their duties as police officers.

Failure of the complainant herein to await the disciplinary action against the applicants renders the charge incompetent and deprives this court of jurisdiction to entertain this charge.”the court notice read in part

It added that Abba Kyari and others have not waived their rights under the police disciplinary control which has begun before the instant charge was filed.

20-year-old suspected kidnapper arrested with N8.4m cash and weapons in Bauchi

Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old man, Abubakar Isah for criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, kidnapping, illegal possession of prohibited firearms and ammunition.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Mamman Sanda made the disclosure while briefing newsmen at the Command headquarters on Tuesday, October 18, 2022.

The CP said N8.4million cash, weapons, motorcycles and other exhibits were recovered from the suspect.

“On 16/09/2022 at about 1730hrs the Command arrested the 20 years old Abubakar Isah at Tashan Daudu, Soro via Ganjuwa LGA at Gobirawa,” the Commissioner stated.

“The following exhibits were recovered in his possession; Eight million four hundred- and sixty-six-thousand-naira (N8.466,000.00) cash, one SMG rifle with ninety-two live ammunition, One empty magazine SMG OFN rifle, One 7.62mm calibre of live ammunitions, Eight different models of phones, one MP3, one Honda Motorcycle, one Cutlass.” he added.

While answering questions from journalists, the suspect insisted that he is innocent of the crimes though he agreed that all the exhibits were found in his possession at the point of arrest.

According to him, he is a cattle rearer and was contracted by one Ibrahim who is now at large to go to another village to rear some cattle for him for a period of time after which he will be paid the agreed sum.

“On the day I was arrested, I was on the back seat of the motorcycle which was driven by my boss going to the village where I will tend the cattle for him, he did not tell me the name of the village, he only asked me to go with him,” he said.

“He gave me a bag to hold while he drove the motorcycle. When we got to the bank of a river where we were to board a canoe to cross to the other side, we just saw Policemen with guns pointed at us.

My boss jumped off the motorcycle and ran away. I was then arrested and brought here,”Probed further, he insisted that he was innocent and he did not know what was contained in the bag until it was opened at the Police Command headquarters saying that, “I only held the bag without knowing its contents, that is the reason I am here,” the suspect added.

The Police Commissioner said that all efforts to get him to talk so that his boss and others can be traced and arrested proved abortive as the telephone number he gave has since been switched off.

The CP said from the look of things, the suspect belongs to a gang of kidnappers because there is no way someone of his age will have such an amount of money and the sophisticated weapons found with him.

“Nobody has come out to identify him since he was arrested and all that is left for the Police to do is to arraign him before the court with the exhibits, it is left for the court to decide.”

Meanwhile, the Command also exited mopped-up arms recovered including One Fabricated AK-47 riffle with empty magazine; Two Dane-gun; One Pump action JOJEFF Magnum; One single barrel gun and One revolver (fabricated).

“From the foregoing, it is obvious that the Bauchi State Police Command has not been resting on its oars in the areas of crime bursting towards ensuring adequate peace and security in the State”, the Commissioner added.

“We shall not relent and we shall continue to deliver on our mandate to protect lives and properties of the people of Bauchi State by ensuring a peaceful and conducive atmosphere to enable the good people of Bauchi State to go about their normal and lawful businesses and to keep them abreast on the progress of the Command regularly.

Footballer Kynan Isaac, 31, gets career-ending 10 years ban after he’s found guilty of spot-fixing and placing illegal bets on a match he played in

The FA have handed out a 10-year ban to a former Reading defender after finding him guilty of spot-fixing and placing illegal bets on an FA Cup tie in which he played in last season.

Defender Kynan Isaac, who plays in the Southern Premier League for Stratford, was today informed of the ban that will effectively end his career.

The FA began investigating Isaac last season after being tipped off about suspicious betting patterns in Stratford’s FA Cup first-round defeat to Shrewsbury last November.

The 31-year-old former Reading left-back was charged with spot-fixing in August after it was alleged he was deliberately booked in the 84th minute of his side’s 5-1 defeat, as part of a conspiracy with friends to beat the betting markets.

After appearing before an independent disciplinary commission Isaac was found guilty of spot-fixing by deliberately earning a yellow card, failing to comply with the FA’s investigation and breaching FA rules by placing multiple bets, including several on his own team.

The resulting 10-year ban is one of the longest the FA have ever dished out.
