Kylie Jenner becomes first woman to amass 300 million IG followers

American socialite and businesswoman, Kylie Jenner has become the first woman to amass 300 million followers on the social media platform, Instagram.

The youngest member of the Kardasian-Jenner dynasty has now become only the second person in the world to amass over 300 million followers on the photo-sharing app.

It would be recalled that Portuguese and Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo hit the milestone in June 2021, he has since garnered 388 million followers, the most in the world.

The mother of one joined the ‘300 million’ club on Wednesday night.

Dancer, Kaffy, explains why she’s thankful her marriage failed

Celebrity choreographer and Guiness Book of Records holder, Kayafat Shafau better known as Kaffy has revealed that she is grateful for the lessons she took out of her failed marriage.

Taking to her Instagram page during the early hours of today, Wednesday, January 12, Kaffy stated that her marriage failed because she ‘was blind’, however, now she ‘can see’.

It would be recalled that Ripples Nigeria earlier confirmed that Kaffy’s union with former musical director of P Square, Joseph Ameh, came to an abrupt end after 9 years. The multiple award winning dancer made this known during her Instagram live session.

The talented dancer and entertainer has now taken time to appreciate everyone who reached out to her after the shocking announcement.

Speaking via her Instagram platform, Kaffy also addressed trolls who are mocking her over her failed marriage. She stated that her marriage failed for several reasons, albeit, she is grateful for the experience.

The dancer included the caption on her thread;

“My Truth has set me free from a lot that was wrongfully conditioned by various elements and one step at a time I will share:

– My mistakes
– how I identified them
– surviving depression

– the kind of help I got

Simon Cowell proposes to girlfriend after 13 years of dating

British media personality, Simon Cowell, has proposed to his lover, Lauren Silverman, after dating for 13 years.

Cowell, famous for his stern criticisms as a judge on American Idol, and the X Factor, popped the question during the couple’s recent holiday in Barbados, The Sun reported on Tuesday night.

The 62-year-old who had previously declared he didn’t believe in marriage, proposed to the girlfriend in the presence of their seven-year-old son Eric, and step-son Adam, from Lauren’s first marriage.

According to a source, the engagement happened on Christmas Eve.

The source said; “Simon and Lauren are ridiculously, nauseatingly in love – incredibly, lockdown brought them closer than ever.

“Lauren was absolutely stunned and never in a million years expected Simon to pop the question. She burst into tears – happy tears – and obviously said ‘yes’ straight away.

How Davido paid school fees of other students while studying at Babcock

Top Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido is often touted as the Nigerian celebrity with the biggest heart and apparently, it did not start today.

Davido’s former Head of Department at Babcock university, Olusegun Ojuola, Davido, revealed that the musician paid the fees of some indigent students in the school.

He made the revelation during an interview, while also sharing some of Davido’s fondest memories before he graduated in 2015.

Ojuola described the DMW boss as a “unique student” who was liked not just for his popularity but also for his personality.

His stay in school has also been a blessing to some indigent students whom the Lord has used David to pay their school fees,” he said.

The lecturer revealed that the ‘FEM’ crooner also had his own struggles in school.

Ojuola said; “Yeah. The first was the day he wore a ragged jeans to school and I chased him out of my office and told him to leave the faculty immediately.

“He was quite visibly shaken and since then he never wore that stuff to school. Another is that sometimes, when he had shows and he tried to play truancy and begged me to tell the dad that he was in school, I always refused and told him I would never lie. So he caught that message and I made him to make up for missed classes.”

Davido didn’t allow his course mates copy him during exams – Babcock lecturer

Nigerian superstar singer, David Adeleke professionally known as Davido has been revealed to be a smart and focused student during his time at Babcock University.

Davido’s former Head of Department, Olusegun Ojuola, said during an interview with TheCable that the musician kept his distance from course mates during exams.

According to the lecturer, when he noticed that the ‘Aye’ crooner did not attempt to interact or help other students since he was a brilliant student, he questioned him about it.

He said Davido told him he does it to avoid being distracted in the exam hall.

I will always remember that during exams David liked to keep a distance from other students. I asked why; he said he didn’t want to be distracted. He is quite a brilliant student,” he said.

Ojuola also revealed that Davido was only able to graduate as a part-time student in such a short period of time because of the credits he carried from Oakwood University in Business Administration in 2010 and extra summer semesters.

NDLEA arrests Skitmakter, DeGeneral (Video)

Popular social media content creator and skitmaker, DeGeneral, real name Sunday Joshua Martins has been arrested by officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

During the wee hours of today, Wednesday, January 12, the skitmaker via his Instagram Live session aired the tense moment the NDLEA officers came into his apartment to pick him up.

In the video, DeGeneral was reluctant to allow the NDLEA operatives to carry out a search in his apartment as he could be heard screaming.

A female operative was heard telling the comedian to put away the camera, however, DeGeneral refused to accept their demands, saying that he wants “the whole world to see what is going on”

The Instagram Live session came to an abrupt end after the phone was smashed on the ground by one of the operatives. DeGeneral could be heard in the background arguing with the NDLEA officers afterwards.

As at the time of filing this report, no official statement had been released by NDLEA operatives to explain the reason behind the search.

Basketmouth vows to continue criticising pastors despite warning that it attracts leprosy

Nigerian comedian and actor, Basketmouth has said that he will continue criticising pastors notwithstanding its weighty repercussions.

NPG reported yesterday that Senior Pastor of Winners Chapel, Bishop Oyedepo admonished Christians to desist from criticizing men of God. The revered clergyman said such behaviour attracts dangerous punishment such as leprosy.

He said; “Beware of speaking hurt against the Ministry you claim to be part of advancing, it’s a risk. Beware of speaking hurt against a Prophet you claim to believe.

It is dangerous. It can make a man leprous. It is dangerous. We don’t have the data of how many victims may have come from this warning, but I know quite some would have been victims.”

In reaction, Basketmouth said that he is guilty of clerics and he intends to continue despite the warning.

Sharing a photo of the Oyedepo news, the comic star wrote; ”This news dey make me laugh cos I am so guilty of this. Did it again 7 times yesterday and 15 times today. And I know I have 50 more to go today”

Recall that Portable recently confronted him in public and demanded his car while accusing him of ripping him off, a statement he later retracted.

However, amid reports of them parting ways, Kogbagidi has indirectly thrown a jab at the Zazuu Zeh star.

He advised people not to stoop so low as to fight with a pig in the mud because the person and the animal will get dirty.

Don Jazzy declares intention to attend Mummy GO’s church

Ace Nigerian producer and music executive, Michael Collins Ajereh popularly known as Don Jazzy has taken a liking to Pastor Funmilayo Adebayo aka Mummy GO.

The Mavin Records boss in a Twitter post on Saturday, revealed that he desires to attend the sensational clergywoman’s Rapture Proclaimer Evangelical Church of God.

Don Jazzy asked Nigerians for the location of the church, saying that he would like to go for service there even if it is just once.

American reality star who sells fart hospitalized due to severe gas

American reality star and flatulence entrepreneur, Stepanka Matto was recently hospitalized following a reported health scare spurred by gas severity.

The 90 Days Fiance star gained modest notoriety in 2021 when she launched a gassy venture peddling her fancy flatulence to strangers.

The 31-year-old reality star blew away people on social media when she recently announced that she makes more than $50,000 (N20,511,651) a week selling her farts.

According to the Complex, the familiar face in the flatulence space says she’s feeling “better” following a reported health scare spurred by gas severity.

It was gathered that Matto visited a hospital after experiencing body pains that she was worried could have been indicative of a heart event.

Matto said the hospital scare consisted of “a nasty two days” during which she was temporarily convinced a heart attack was imminent.

The self-acclaimed ‘fartpreneur’ also recently disclosed that she earned $200,000 (N82M) from her unique business in 2021.

2022 Grammy Awards postponed over Omicron concern

The 64th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony in the United States has been postponed due to a nationwide surge in COVID-19 cases caused by a new variant of the virus, Omicron.

The annual award was earlier fixed for January 31.

In a joint statement issued on Wednesday, the organisers said the event would take place on a new date to be announced later.

The award is organised by the Recording Academy and CBS.

It read: “After careful consideration and analysis with city and state officials, health and safety experts, the artist community, and our many partners, the Recording Academy and CBS have postponed the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards Show.

“The health and safety of those in our music community, the live audience, and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly to produce our show remains our top priority. Given the uncertainty surrounding the Omicron variant, holding the show on January 31 simply contains too many risks.”

Nominations for the awards were announced on November 23 last year.

The nominations were selected from projects released between September 1, 2020, and September 30, 2021.
