Femi Otedola, Obi Cubana, Naira Marley, list of celebrities who gifted Davido millions

Billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola and and a host of other celebrities have gifted Nigerian Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, aka Davido millions ahead of his birthday on November 21.

Davido who is currently in Dubai, had challenged his friends and fans to send him N1 million, saying he has always been in a position of lifting others and now he wanted them to return the favour.

He posted his bank details and within minutes, he started getting credit alerts.

The target set was N100m, but as of Wednesday evening, the donation had surpassed the mark.

While he continued to post screenshots of his alerts from close friends and colleagues, he also mentioned Femi Otedola and Obi Cubana without stating how much they both sent to him.

“@Obi_Cubana haaaaaa!!!! Baba don finish me!!!! Love u baba,” he wrote.

@Femiotedola FO!!! This one no be alert, na alarm,” he wrote in another slide.

Music star, Davido responds as MI Abaga begs him for a hit collabo

David Adeleke, the superstar singer popularly known as Davido has responded to ace rapper, MI Abaga’s plea to collaborate with him for a hit song.

MI Abaga had taken to his Twitter account on Wednesday to ask for a collaboration while responding to Davido’s tweet requesting money from those he had blessed with hit songs.

The DMW boss had in a Twitter post, asked for some money in order to clear his rolls Royce from the port.

As of Wednesday night, Davido has so far received N130m from his friends, fans and colleagues.

MI Abaga, who also gifted the ”FEM” crooner N1m, quoted the singer’s tweet and shared a receipt of the money he sent.

The rapper wrote: “You people that got a hit song from David know say it’s worth way more! I want my own hit song with Davido.”

“Can I send mine to get a hit song as well!? Album de load.”

The Osun-born artiste then gave a positive reply.

”I got you send,” Davido tweeted.

Don Jazzy follows in Davido’s footsteps, announces birthday with expectations

Mavin Records Chief Executive Officer, Michael Collins Ajereh professionally known as Don Jazzy has hinted that he would expect something from his friends and fans just as his colleague, Davido received millions.

The DMW boss had in a Twitter post, asked his fans to send him some money in order to clear his Rolls Royce from the port.

As of Wednesday night, Davido had received N130m from his friends, fans and colleagues ahead of his birthday on November 21, 2021.

Don Jazzy who saw the massive love Davido received, took to his Twitter account to announce birthday date and subtly state that he expects replicated gestures.

Fan who gifted Davido N1.6m at Dubai mall called out, threatened over alleged debt

A man who gifted David ”Davido” Adeleke the sum of N1.6 million at a mall in Dubai, UAE has been called out over an alleged debt.

Recall that on Wednesday, a fan of the singer bumped into him at a Dubai mall, and whilst others were transferring money to Davido’s account the man gifted him 10k Dirhams cash (1.6 million Naira).

However, a man who claims the generous fan is owing him money threatened to iron out the issue when they meet.

The man who called out Davido’s fan on social media is identified as Prince Omego.

He wrote on Snapchat:

#EndSARS report: ”You can’t clean innocent blood with Lie Mohammed” – Burna Boy

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu also known as Burna Boy has reacted to the Lagos State Judicial Panel report on the activities of SARS and other related offences which confirmed the October 20, 2020 incident at the Lekki toll gate as a massacre.

The Panel submitted a 309-page report to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state on Monday, indicting the Nigerian Army and Police of having killed and maimed unarmed youths protesting police brutality and bad governance in Nigeria.

Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, had however on numerous occasions denied the massacre, insisting that no one was killed during the invasion of Lekki toll gate.

Reacting via his Instagram story, Burna Boy stated that he woke up to see that government’s lies have been exposed.

He wrote; ”I just sleep wake up see say government nyash open far and wide today.

Jubilation as PSquare finally reunites after five years (Watch video)

Nigerian singer, Peter ”Mr P” Okoye and his brother, Paul Okoye aka Rudeboy have set the internet abuzz following their reconciliation.

A video making rounds online which has warmed the hearts of their fans shows the brothers reuniting amid emotions.

This comes after the duo who were formerly a part of the defunct PSquare music group followed each other on their respective Instagram pages.

Peter and Paul had not been in talking terms over the past five years, owing to family misunderstanding. There was also a viral video in 2017 of two of them in a heated exchange which almost turned physical at their then lawyer, Festus Keyamo’s office.

Well, the reunion fans have been yearning for has now become reality as the twin brothers were seen hugging it out in a heartwarming video.

Peter extended a handshake to his brother before they locked each other in a warm embrace with smiles on their faces.

Others in the room were equally excited to see the brothers move past their differences and squash their beef once and for all.

Nigerians have urged award-winning Nigerian singers, Wizkid and Davido to squash their rumoured silent beef in the wake of US rappers, Drake and Kanye West, as well as PSquare brothers, Peter and Paul Okoye ending their long-time beef.

Kanye and Drake had been at loggerheads for years, but a recent video of Ye had him calling on the Canadian to end their scuffle and join him at his concert.

The stars finally linked up a Dave Chappelle comedy show in Toronto, after which they partied at Drizzy’s mansion.

Photos and videos of them together have started making the rounds on social media platforms.

The reconciliation came shortly before Nigerian singing twins, PSquare also reunited and it stirred reactions from Nigerians who have declared this period “reconciliation season”.

We detained Cute Abiola over social media post – Nigerian Navy

The Nigerian Navy has said that it detained Naval officer and Instagram Comedian, Ahmed Gafar aka Cute Abiola, and he is not missing as widely reported.

A statement by the Director of Information, Navy Headquarters, Commodore Suleman Dahun, said Cute Abiola was taken into custody for violating and breaching Armed Forces of Nigeria social media policy.

According to the statement, Navy personnel are not allowed to post pictures of themselves or of their colleagues in military uniform.

Also, Dahun revealed that the skit-maker flouted a direct order to report to the office.

The statement reads: “Cute Abiola is not missing !!! He is in custody for breaching Armed Forces Social Media Policy.

”The young man was found to have breached the social media policy while he was on leave. So he was recalled, asked to come back, but he refused until he completed his leave which is a disobedience to particular orders”.

The Armed Forces Act 2017 provides guidelines on social media use to curb undignified use of social media by members of the Armed Forces, especially acts that could render them susceptible to enemies’ trap or jeopardise ongoing military operations.

Personnel should not post their pictures or those of their colleagues in military uniforms, or pictures containing military structures, platforms and other military related items.”

“Personnel will be held liable for any security issues arising from postings in respect of them by civilian friends or relations. They are therefore, to educate their friends and relations as necessary regarding military security and what should not be posted on social media,” the guideline says in part.

Davido receives N70 million donation from Nigerians after asking fans to send him money

Popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke also known as Davido has received the sum of N70 million from Nigerians as at the time of writing this report as he keeps posting photos of his new account balance at intervals.

The singer, made this known in a series of tweets on his Twitter page hours after appealing to fans to send money to him.

Davido, on Wednesday morning had said that anyone who has listened to his hit song should send him cash, after which he posted his account details online.

”If u know I’ve given you a hit song .. send me money …. una know una selves oo”, the DMW boss tweeted.

Moments later, he started giving updates and revealed that the targeted amoun he is expecting is N100m which he intends to use to clear his Rolls Royce from port.

Davido wrote; ”Omo 7 m in 10 minutes keep goin!! I love y’all! AIM NAH 100m I wan clear my rolls Royce from port”

The fist total amount he revealed he had received was N22 million, after sometime it started increasing to 26m, 42m, 53m and 70m

Sony Music officially welcomes Mayorkun to the label

Sony Music Entertainment has official announced Nigerian singer, Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel known professionally as Mayorkun, as an artiste signed under its management.

The official Twitter account of Sony Music UK made this known on Tuesday, November 16, 2021.

The record label shared a photo of Mayorkun standing by a poster of the company’s subsidiary, Colombia Records logo and welcomed him to the label.

Recall that his former boss, Davido, who owns DMW Records, had revealed last month that the ”Geng” hit-maker is now signed to Sony Music.

Nigerian Navy discloses whereabout of comedian Cute Abiola

The Nigerian Navy has published statement on its official Instagram platform to debunk claims that one of its personnel who is also a popular comedian, Abdulgafar Abiola popularly known as Cute Abiola, was missing.

On Tuesday, November 16, Cute Abiola‘s colleague in the entertainment industry, Mr. Macaroni raised the alarm over claims that Cute Abiola was missing and called for help to find him.

In a statement released during the early hours of today, Wednesday, November 17, Suleman Dahun on behalf of the Chief of Naval Staff, the Nigerian Navy said contrary to reports, the comedian was in custody for breaching the Armed forces social media policy.

Award-winning American singer, Ne-Yo has said that he wishes he came up with the hit song, “Essence” which is owned by Nigerian superstar singer, Wizkid and features Tems.

In an interview with American entertainment magazine, NME, the music star spoke about songs he liked.

When asked about the song he wish he had written, he responded with Wizkid’s “Essence“.

According to Ne-Yo, the song is one of those records that just makes sense and that he wishes that he had thought of it first.

He also revealed that he had once met the Smile crooner although he wasn’t sure the Nigerian superstar would remember their meeting.

Ne-Yo also stated that he was proud of the moves Big Wiz has been making and said he was one of the new generation artistes he respects.

Instagram Comedian, Cute Abiola reportedly goes missing

Popular Instagram comedian and skit-maker, Cute Abiola has gone missing, according to friends and family.

Cute Abiola, born Ahmed Gafar was said to have left his house for the office at Navy Town at about 6am on November 15, 2021 and got to the office at about 7am.

According to reports, his wife and colleagues have made several attempts to contact him but all to no avail.

It was gathered that since Cute Abiola last communicated with wife that he had arrived at the office, he is yet to return to his family and no one has heard from him.

Nigerian comedian and actor, Debo Adedayo better known as Mr Macaroni also raised alarm over his whereabouts.

“I have just received news that Cute Abiola is missing.

If the Nigerian Navy has any information to help Cute Abiola’s family and friends confirm his whereabouts or if he his in their custody, I think the honorable thing to do would be to clarify details surrounding his detention and put everyone’s mind at rest. Haba!” he tweeted.

Falz reacts as Lagos #EndSARS Panel reports Lekki toll gate incident as massacre

Nigerian rapper and activist, Folarin Falana professionally known as Falz has reacted to the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry reports on the Lekki massacre which indicted the Nigerian Army and police.

The panel reported the Lekki Toll gate shooting of October 20, 2020 as a massacre indicting soldiers and implicated Nigeria’s security agents in the killing and forced disappearances of harmless and unarmed youths protesting at Lekki Tollgate on October 20, 2020.

The Justice Doris Okuwobi-led panel made the revelation in a 309-page report submitted to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State on Monday.

Page 294 of the report read: “The atrocious maiming and killing of unarmed, helpless and unresisting protesters, while sitting on the floor and waving their Nigerian flags, while singing the National Anthem can be equated to a ‘massacre’ in context.”

Reacting to the development, Falz, took to his Instagram story and called out government, describing those who claimed the incident never occurred as animals who made the youth doubt their sanity about the Lekki Massacre.

Falz added that the Lagos #EndSars had compiled their report, and everything is now more transparent.

He wrote: ”These animals legit made us doubt our sanity about the Lekki Massacre you know. Panel don compile their report an. We gather dey!”

Falz, Timi Dakolo, other celebrities seek implementation of Lagos Judicial Panel recommendations

Nigerian rapper and human rights activist, Folarin Falana also known as Falz, and some of his colleagues have called for the next line of action following the report of the Lagos Judicial Panel of Inquiry into the incidents of October 20, 2020 at the Lekki Toll Gate.

The recent report submitted to Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu of Lagos state on Monday, had indicted the police and soldiers of the Nigerian Army of having killed and maimed unarmed youths protesting police brutality and bad governance in Nigeria.

But Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, had in a series of press conferences denied the massacre, insisting that no one was killed during the invasion of Lekki toll gate.

Falz, in reaction on his Instagram page demanded justice for the lives lost during the incident.

He wrote: “I can’t believe these monsters made us think that we are mad sha. Something that we watched on Instagram live.

“Anyway the panel is out now and it is clear as day just in case you thought we would back down at some point. This has never been and will never be an option.

“All these recommendations must be implemented. the leader these innocent souls deserve is justice.”

Other celebrities like Mr Macaroni, Timi Dakolo and Toolz have taken to their social media pages expressing their opinions following the panel report.

Nigerian Disc Jockey and activist, Catherine Obianuju Udeh popularly known as DJ Switch has reacted to the report submitted by the Lagos Judicial Panel of Inquiry on the Lekki massacre which indicted the Nigerian Army and police.

The panel, in the 309-page report submitted to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State on Monday, referred to the Lekki Tollgate shooting of October 20, 2020 as a massacre.

The panel indicted soldiers and implicated Nigeria’s security agents in the killing and forced disappearances of harmless and unarmed youths protesting at Lekki Tollgate.

On October 20, 2020, DJ Switch live-streamed the shooting of unarmed EndSARS protesters by security forces which left scores injured and dozens dead.

Following her brave act on that day, Switch alleged that threats to her life was made by unknown persons so she had to go into hiding.

Speaking on the recent development, the singer cum producer pointed out how authorities desperately tried to hide the truth but it has eventually come out.

Taking to her Twitter account, she wrote;

”Shattered so many lives, tried to destroy mine. Only for what you desperately tried to hide to be made public… by you!

Filmmaker, Chico Ejiro’s last son, Viano passes on less than a year after his death

Viano, the last son of veteran Nollywood filmmaker, Chico Ejiro is dead.

News of the boy’s death broke on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, less than a year after the movie director and screenwriter passed away.

Chico Ejiro’s widow, Joy recently moved to the US to seek medical attention for their son who was diagnosed with cancer related ailments as a toddler.

Sadly, Viano lost the battle to the ailment and passed on yesterday, November 15th less than 11 months after his father’s demise.

Chico Ejiro passed away on December 25, 2020, and he was laid to rest in his hometown in February 20, 2021.
