Two killed in Osun road crash

Two passengers of a commercial bus on Friday lost their lives in an accident that occurred in Balogun Village near Ikire, Osun State.

Although details of how the lone accident occurred were not immediately available, the bus involved was said to be heading for Lagos from Ekiti State.

The deceased were said to have died on the spot.

Officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and Federal Road Safety Corps reportedly responded shortly after the crash.

The spokesperson of NSCDC in Osun State, Kehinde Adeleke, confirmed the accident.

Adeleke said, “Today April 5, 2024, around 1336 hours, one bus from Ekiti going to Lagos had a lone accident around Balogun village which claimed two lives instantly.”

She added that those injured in the crash were taken to a private hospital in Apomu for treatment.

Adeleke, also said the Osun NSCDC Commandant, Dr Michael Adaralewa, “enjoined road users, especially motorists, to always obey traffic rules and regulations while driving to avoid the loss of lives and property on our roads.”
