Troops arrest hoodlums who planned to disrupt Independence Day celebrations

64 suspects have been arrested by Nigerian troops for allegedly planning to disrupt Independence Day celebrations in Abuja.

Defence media operations director, Musa Danmadami said on Thursday October 6, that the suspects were arrested following intelligence gathered by the military.

Nine locally made guns were recovered from the suspects who were dressed in “black attire.”

He said;

“All apprehended criminals were handed over to the Nigeria Police federal capital command for further action.”

Troops also arrested 33 suspected illegal miners at an illegal mining site at Gwagwalada area council of the FCT, and are currently detaining 5 suspected drug dealers who were apprehended at their hideout in Koroduma-Asokoro Guzape.
