IPOB issues ultimatum to shut down South-East if Kanu is not released

Due to the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has issued an ultimatum to the Federal Government to release him on or before Saturday, August 8.

Failure to adhere to this ultimatum may result in the total shutdown of economic activities in the South-East, according to a statement issued on Wednesday by the IPOB.

This statement was issued and signed by the IPOB’s Head, Directorate of State, Chika Edoziem who said the land of Biafra would not accommodate anyone of them, in the event of any harm to Kanu.

The group also urged governors and leaders of the region, who allegedly had a hand in the arrest and abduction of Kanu from Kenya, to pray that nothing untoward happens to him in detention.

The statement read partly: “The Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra is very much aware of the strategy of the government of Nigeria to subject the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra worldwide, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, to media trial and to convict him in the public before giving him that public conviction, an official stamp of the compromised Nigerian judicial system.

“The global community knows that self-determination is not a crime; the Nigerian government knows equally that self-determination does not in any way constitute any known offence stipulated in their constitution and therefore do not have any case against the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra.

In recognition of the above facts and truths, the Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra demands herewith an unconditional and immediate release of our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, on or before August 8, 2021, failing which we shall commence a weekly lockdown of Biafraland, starting on Monday, August 9, 2021.

“For the avoidance of doubt, this total lockdown of Biafraland will take place every week until our leader is released unconditionally. This weekly lockdown is simply one of the measures we shall put in place to ensure that our leader is released hale and hearty.”

Ripples Nigeria had reported that Kanu was arrested in Kenya and extradited to Nigeria. He has since been placed in the custody of the Department of States Services (DSS) in Abuja on charges bordering on treason and felony.

IPOB vows to declare war on South-East leaders for silence on Kanu’s arrest

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has vowed to declare war on all politicians and traditional rulers from the South-East region, saying they would know no peace until its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is freed by the Nigerian government.

In a statement on Friday by its spokesman, Emma Powerful, the proscribed group berated the South-East leaders over their silence despite Kanu’s ‘current travail.’

The statement read in part, “All along, IPOB has been peaceful while our members are being abducted and killed by security agents. Now, they have abducted our leader and these so-called [Biafran] leaders are keeping sealed lips. It is either they stand with the people or be counted among our enemies.

Our leader cannot languish in detention while these people will pretend that all is well. Their northern counterparts are shamelessly defending Fulani bandits and terrorists rampaging communities across the country yet these weaklings cannot speak out against the injustice against their own. Enough is enough! No more sitting on the fence. Everyone must declare his/her stance now.

“As long as our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, remains incarcerated in Abuja, all the politicians from ward level to the federal level, including traditional rulers, stakeholders, and religious leaders will never have peace till he comes out except they wake up now.”

IPOB tags DSS raid on Igboho’s home as ‘barbaric’, declares solidarity

The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has condemned the raid on the country home of the Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo popularly called ‘Igboho’, by operatives of the Department of State Service (DSS), describing the incident as “barbaric” and “unacceptable”.

Ripples Nigeria reported that the DSS had in the early hours of Thursday, July 1, raided Igboho’s residence at the Soka area of Ibadan, Oyo State, after which they allegedly recovered some arms and ammunitions, and also paraded some members of the group as suspects.

In a statement on Friday by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, the group said the attack was an “act of impunity”.

The statement read, “We the global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu condemn the recent attack and massacre of peaceful and unarmed citizens of Odua people in the House of Sunday Ighoho at his country home in Ibadan Oyo state.

Sunday Igboho has not killed anybody. The Nigerian government and her security operatives invaded his home and kidnapped his innocent women in the house for the proposed rally in Lagos on Saturday 4th of July 2021.

“Fulani and their collaborators are trying to bring catastrophe in Nigeria. They are trying to plunge Nigeria into a serious crisis that will consume everybody. They should stop taking the indigenous nations in Nigeria for granted. Enough of this impunity!”

The group declared solidarity for Igboho and the Yoruba nation agitators, saying that its members across the world are solidly behind Sunday Igboho and the Odua Nation Movement.

The attack on Igboho is akin to the attack they unleashed on the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi on September 14, 2017, when the military Python danced in his country home.

“It’s very appalling that the Nigeria security agencies are aiding and abating criminal Fulani herdsmen, Boko Haram, ISWAP, and other terror groups to kill innocent citizens in Nigeria while suppressing those genuinely defending their people.

“Nigeria will soon regret their actions towards the Southern Nigeria and Middle Belt region. The whole southerners in the army, police, DSS, and the security outfit in Nigeria must understand that this fight was brought to their homes by Fulani Jihadists. Nobody should think that things are still normal. Very soon all Christians will be forced to convert to Islam. It’s part of their agenda.

But IPOB is working tirelessly to stop this evil agenda. And we must do it for the betterment of unborn children in this land. Now is the time for the entire Southern Nigeria and Middle Belt to unite and defend their ancestral land otherwise we become slaves to the jihadists. But God forbid!” the statement added.

Meanwhile, IPOB is still saddled with its challenges, as it has had its share of the Federal Government’s wrath.

Ripples Nigeria reported that the intelligence unit of the Nigerian security operatives recently re-arrested the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who jumped bail in 2017 and left the country

Nnamdi Kanu: IPOB mobilizes members for mass action

The Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB), has warned the Muhammadu Buhari-led government against allowing any harm befall its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

This was contained in a statement issued by IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, on Wednesday.

The secessionist group asked members to mobilize and storm the court on July 26, the date of Kanu’s next hearing.

IPOB also said it would expose details of “his abduction later.”

The statement read; “Our leader Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is presently in the custody of the Nigeria Government. This evil crime of kidnapping was masterminded by the Nigeria Government in collaboration with all those that view IPOB and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as stumbling block against their bid to hold Biafra in perpetual slavery.

“We, therefore, enjoin every IPOB member both at home and in the Diaspora and all Biafrans to remain calm because this is not the end of the road. Our Leader’s next court appearance is July 26, 2021 and Biafrans should mobilize and attend the court hearing.

“IPOB will not relent in the pursuit of Biafra freedom. We have crossed the Rubicon in our struggle for the restoration of Biafran Sovereignty. There is no going back no matter the level of intimidation by our oppressors.

Our Leader can never be coerced into abandoning the struggle for Biafra restoration irrespective of the circumstance. At this very challenging moment in the history of our march to freedom, all IPOB family members must stand firm and resolute behind our selfless leader. We stand by him and the God of Heavens in whom we trust and rest our confidence shall not let us down. We shall triumph!

We remind the Nigeria government and her security agencies that our Leader deserves justice and fair hearing. We also want to state unequivocally, that no harm should befall our leader. Should anything untoward happen to him, Nigeria Government will be held accountable for it.

“We are watching closely and all our intelligence units, are following up on the developments. The international community should not be quiet over the atrocities of the Nigeria Government against Biafrans. They must rise in defense of justice now!”

Kanu, was on Tuesday rearraigned in the Federal High court, Abuja and subsequently remanded in the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS, following his arraignment on Tuesday before a Federal High Court in Abuja.

IPOB threatens ‘war’ over arrest, detention of Kanu in Nigeria

The Lagos State Coordinator of the proscribed Igbo separatist group, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Sam Igwe, has warned the Nigerian government that nothing must happen to their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who was arrested in London on Sunday, and returned to Nigeria at the instance of the Federal Government.

According to the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN) at an emergency press briefing in Abuja, Kanu was arrested by a “combined team of Nigerian and foreign security agents in a coordinated interception”, after two years of evading arrest.

But while reacting to the arrest of the fugitive in a phone chat with Ripples Nigeria, Igwe said if anything should happen to the “Supreme leader, there will be war” as the South-East will be too hot for Nigeria.

We want to sound this as a warning that nothing should happen to our Supreme leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu or else there will be war.

“The South-East, South-South and indeed every part of Nigeria will be too hot.

“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is not a criminal. His only crime is fighting for the liberation of Ndigbos. Is that a crime? Does that make him a criminal?

“We are giving the Nigerian government 24 hours to release Kanu or there will be serious repercussions. We are warning them,” Igwe threatened.

Court remands IPOB leader, Kanu, in DSS custody, schedules July 26 for trial

The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday, ordered that the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, be remanded in a Department of State Service (DSS) facility, pending the determination of his trial.

Justice Binta Nyako gave the order after counsel to the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Shuaibu Labaran, told the court that the defendant (Kanu) who jumped bail, had been arrested and produced in court.

Labaran urged the court for an order detaining the arrested IPOB leader at the DSS facility pending the hearing and determination of the matter.

Justice Nyako, who granted the plea, adjourned the matter until July 26 for trial continuation.

Biafra, Oduduwa have formed joint force to protect the south – IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), says the agitators of Biafra and Oduduwa republics have joined resources to forge a united front for their fight against Fulani herdsmen and other criminal elements.

IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, speaking on behalf of the joint group, disclosed that they are training their personnel together to improve their skills and secure Southern Nigeria.

In a statement on Monday, the spokesman stated that an attack on one of the secessionist group would be seen as an attack on the other.

The statement read: “This is to put the Nigerian Government and her security agencies in Nigeria on notice that Biafra and Oduduwa have further strengthened their bond as one people, following the joint training of personnel from both sides.

These joint volunteer force will secure the territories of Southern Nigeria against ‘foreign Fulani terrorists and any unwarranted aggression from any external force’.

“Oduduwa and Biafra Volunteer Force demand an immediate end to the ongoing genocide against the people of Biafra and immediate demilitarisation of Biafraland as we are now ready to defend our territories against aggression. The killing and abduction in Biafra and Oduduwa land must stop immediately.

We reiterate that an attack on Oduduwa land is an attack on Biafra and an attack on Biafra is an attack on Oduduwa. This is the bond the Fulanis tried for many years to destroy but today, the new generation of Oduduwa and Biafra have risen to say no to divide and rule. We are on the threshold of history because we are stronger together.

“Today we have trained together, dined together, and drunk together. Should duty call for it, we shall die together in defense of the entire South. We shall defend our land together, this is historic day for both nations.”

”Twitter is IPOB online machine” – Adamu Garba

Former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adamu Garba, has described Twitter as an online machine for the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

Garba made the remark while commending the Nigerian Government for suspending the activities of Twitter in Nigeria.

Featuring on Channels Television’s Programme, Politics Today on Friday, Garba said Twitter was in support of IPOB’s activities.

He stated that Twitter supports IPOB more than it does to the Nigerian government.

He said: “Twitter is behind them. I think Twitter is like a kind of IPOB online machine because what they do more is supporting IPOB much more than the government. Everyone knows that IPOB is anti-Nigeria, their target is to destroy Nigeria”.

Recall that the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed had announced the ban on Twitter.

He had explained that the microblogging site was suspended because Nigerians were using the platform for activities that were against the country’s unity.

IPOB members approach Cardinal Arinze in Rome, ask him to seek Pope’s endorsement of Biafra (Video)

A video making rounds online shows the moment members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, approached Cardinal Francis Arinze and tried to convince him to ask Pope Francis to endorse the actualization of Biafra.

The IPOB members could be seen standing with the Nigerian Cardinal in a building in Rome while making their request.

However, Cardinal Arinze, who is from Anambra state, was not on the same page with them as regards secession.

“It is those who did not see the civil war who are talking ‘Biafra, Biafra’. They have no idea,” Cardinal Arinze told the IPOB members.

The Cardinal added that citizens being separated is “not the mandate Christ gave to the Bishops.”

He encouraged the IPOB members to join politics instead and bring about the change they want to see in Nigeria.

He said: “It is for people like you. You get into politics and work hard with others.”

Nigerian Army, police storm Enugu church, arrest members over allegations of being IPOB members (Video)

Men of the Nigerian Army and Police Force stormed a Church in Enugu state on Sunday and arrested over 50 congregants on suspicion of being members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), according to SaharaReporters.

The members were worshipping in the church on Owerri Road, when service was interrupted by the uniformed men.

A video circulating on social media shows policemen and soldiers giving orders while male members of the church marched out of the church with their hands in the air.

A source told SaharaReporters: “The Nigeria police and military have just stormed a church in Owerri Road, Enugu State, molesting over 50 men, both old and young while matching them to an unknown destination.

“We are bringing this to the attention of the world. The lives of these men should not be wasted for no crime committed. They were only at a place of worship today being Sunday the 30th of May 2021 and no arms were found with them.”

IPOB not plotting to attack Lagos – Nnamdi Kanu

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has debunked allegations that the proscribed group is plotting an attack on Lagos state.

Commissioner of Police in Lagos, CP Hakeem Odumosu, on Monday, said the state Police Command is investigating the separatist group, Oodua Republic, and also the threat by IPOB to attack soft targets in the state.

Odumosu made this known during a security summit chaired by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The Command has taken notice of agitators for Oodua Republic by some Yoruba separatist groups and the threats to disrupt law and order in the state. 24 of these groups have been identified and being closely monitored.

Similarly, the threat of IPOB to attack soft targets in Lagos is equally being put on the radar of the command intelligence gathering and other security services in the state. Strategies are being put in place to neutralise their activities, he said.

Reacting, Kanu took to his official Twitter account and described the allegation as a lie and a plot to fuel division.

“The public is hereby notified that the allegations that IPOB is plotting to attack Lagos is a LIE. Lagos State CP, Hakeem Odumosu who made the allegation is a former CSO to Tinubu & their intention is to fuel division between Yorubas & Biafrans. It won’t work. This is not 1967!” he tweeted.

IPOB refutes reports of attacks on Police HQs in Owerri

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has slammed reports that it was responsible for Monday’s attacks on Police and Correctional Service headquarters in Imo State.

This was contained in a statement issued on Monday, April 5, by its Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful in Owerri

Powerful explained that the group was formed on the principle of peace and would not compromise its principles.

It would also not attack the government’s facilities, he stated.

The attention of IPOB has been drawn to the fallacious and fabricated reports that it is involved in the attack of prison and police headquarters in Imo.

IPOB and Eastern Security Network (ESN) are known groups, not unknown gunmen. ESN is in the bush chasing terrorists and has no business with the said attacks.

“We were not involved in the attack in Owerri and the recent attack on Onitsha-Owerri road at Ukwuorji junction.

“It is not our mandate to attack security personnel or prison facilities,’’ he stated.

Ripples Nigeria had earlier reported that the Imo Police Command, as well as that of the Correctional Service, were attacked at about 2 a.m. on Monday by unknown gunmen.

They set hundreds of inmates free from the Correctional Centre and set many vehicles there ablaze.

Tension As Nigerian Military Conducts Air Strikes In Orlu In Search Of ESN (Eastern Security Network).

SaharaReporters learnt that the airstrikes started on Thursday noon, and are connected with the military’s resolve to dislodge the Eastern Security Network operatives said to have strongholds in the forests.

Military fighter jets believed to be deployed by the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Air Force are conducting aerial strikes in Orlu communities in Imo State, which has worsened the already built-up tension in the areas.

SaharaReporters learnt that the airstrikes started on Thursday noon, and are connected with the military’s resolve to dislodge the Eastern Security Network operatives said to have strongholds in the forests.

The ESN operatives in January had a bloody clash with the Nigerian Army from Obinze barracks, where four soldiers were reportedly killed.

A video of the aerial bombardments on Thursday surfaced with fresh tension and anxiety building in the communities.

“Nigerian soldiers are currently conducting aerial strikes in our areas. Many innocent lives may be lost. They are probably looking for ESN operatives who are checking the activities of killer Fulani herdsmen,” a community head told SaharaReporters.

“People’s homes and market places may be affected. We don’t need aircraft in Orlu. They should go and find the stolen school pupils in Niger State,” another angry resident said.

“I have the video. There was an aircraft firing shots possibly in a nearby bush. Very reckless of the airforce; civilians are all over the place,” another person said.

SaharaReporters last December reported that the Nigerian Army deployed combat helicopters, gun trucks, and soldiers to search some suspected forests in the South-East states where the ESN, launched by Nnamdi Kanu, was said to be camping.

SaharaReporters also reported that the military search had been going on for days, and had no time frame, as the army was acting on “orders from above.”

A video, from the drones and hidden cameras believed to be installed by the ESN, had captured the Nigerian Army helicopters and their vehicles and soldiers searching for the camp of the ESN for possible arrests.

Kanu, leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, on December 12, launched the ESN, saying the regional security outfit, just like Amotekun in the South-West, would help to tackle crimes and criminalities.

“The Nigerian Army that is supposed to fight Boko Haram was seen everywhere searching for the camp of Eastern Security Network team. But they forgot they are dealing with sophisticated men. There are cameras and drones everywhere watching them,” an official had said.

IPOB not responsible for burning herdsmen houses in South-East – Umahi

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State on Monday said videos making the round on social media purporting that members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) were responsible for burning of houses belonging to herdsmen were not the handiwork of the separatist movement.According to Umahi, communities, rather IPOB were responsible for the acts. The governor  who also disclosed that South-East governors had earlier banned open grazing and movement of cows on foot in the zone, stated this in Abakaliki on Monday during the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) membership registration committee.

While warning against politicization of security matters, the governor called on leaders of the South-East geopolitical zone to create a framework that will secure the lives and properties of the people.Umahi, who is the Chairman of the Southeast Governors’ Forum said: “The governors of the southeast had banned not only open grazing, but we have also banned the movement of cows by foot into the southeast.“In each of the five states of the southeast, we are managing ourselves very well. We have also stopped the movement of cows across communities.“What we discussed in the southeast with the herdsmen, with the farmers is the method that has been in place for a long time before now.“What our people must know is that security is not political, what is demanded of the leaders is to put up programs that favour the people and foster national unity.“There is a new dimension that is taking place in the southeast which is very dangerous. It is when the communities use the name of IPOB, the video and upload it to the social media and say it is IPOB that is burning the houses of herdsmen.“It is not IPOB, it is the communities that are doing this and this is very dangerous for the Igbo man. I am talking to us as leaders.”

Senator Shehu Sani Condemns Kanu’s ESN Attack On Herdsmen In Isiukwuato Village, Abia State.

Recall that there was a video Nnamdi Kanu shared on his Facebook wall where the officers of the Eastern Security Network were seen chasing away the Fulani Herdsmen in Isiukwuato village in Abia state. The video revealed the members of the ESN brutally slaughtering the cows of the herders without mercy.

Senator Shehu Sani who was the former senatorial representative of Kaduna central senatorial zone, while reacting to the video said, “It is painful to see how the members of the Kanu’s Eastern Security Network brutally slaughtered the cows of herders in Isiukwuato areas of Abia state. The ugly incidence is such that should not be allowed to happen again by the Federal Government”.

“The Federal Government should set up plans on allowing the herdsmen to set up and establish their grazing ranches in the North, rather than leaving them at the mercies of such brutal attack with their cows. To maintain peace, unity and order in this country, the president should allow the herders to settle in the North”.

Nigerians on seeing the response of Senator Sank to the incidence provided photos of where people’s businesses where destroyed without compensation in Kano and asked the Senator what he had to say concerning that one.

OPC backs IPOB’s Eastern Security Network, wants govs to give support

The Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) has called on governors of Sout-East states to back the Eastern Security Network (ESN) established by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), so that criminals masquerading as herdsmen could be flushed out.

The OPC, in a statement issued at the weekend by its Publicity Secretary, Yinka Oguntimehin, also threw its weight behind the South-West Security Network, codenamed Amotekun, noting that with the level of commitment shown by the Amotekun corps, issues of insecurity in the region would soon be a thing of the past.

According to the group, with the level of commitment exhibited so far in Oyo and Osun states, Amotekun will soon rid the South-West of all bad elements, including killer herdsmen and kidnappers.

Oguntimehin said “Their recent feat in Iddo was also commendable, however, I am using this opportunity to call on the south East governors to back the Eastern Security Network (ESN) to come up with a lasting approach like that of the South West to rid the region of criminals masquerading as herdsmen.

“Now that the southwest is doing everything that is necessary to rid the region of criminal elements, including killer herdsmen, and kidnappers, the South-East remains their next target and destination for destruction. So it is advisable for the governors of the south East to enforce a better approach and modalities for securing the region using the Eastern Security Network(ESN)”

Continuing, the OPC spokesman noted that only true federalism anchored on regionalism remain the best option for the growth and development of the country.

Commending the efforts of the leaderships of corps in Oyo and Osun, Oguntimehin said there are hopes that the security challenges in the region will soon become a thing of the past.

He said: “We need to commend the leaders of the group for their commitment to the southwest. It is obvious that the southwest security outfits have all it takes to flush out the bad elements in the region. Last year Amotekun corps intercepted 14 Almajarai hidden in vehicle container in Osun

“The Almajarai, according to the reports hid in the container of a moving vehicle at Ikire, Irewole local government area, Osun State. The corps stopped them at a checkpoint, forced the driver of the vehicle to open the container only to see 14 Almajarai hiding in the container.

“The tendency for Nigeria to be great as a country is high if we can restructure the country, using true federalism on the basis of regionalism. It is the best approach for us now because all the problems associated with insecurity, political, economic, social issues and religion, will surely be addressed once and for all, and the component units that made up the the country will grow and develop independently without looking up to Abuja for solutions, especially on problems that had to do with insecurity”, he said.

SocialMediaTrends: Nigerian Army’s clash with IPOB’s security outfit in Orlu & more

Social Media users in Nigeria harnessed online platforms on Monday to speak to power especially on matters bordering on the country’s security challenges.

The following trends thrived with the most engagements across social platforms.

Orlu, Imo State

Residents of Orlu in Imo have reported a state of unrest in the South-Eastern region that has led to loss of lives and properties, following violent clashes between security forces and members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) set up by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

According to video footages shared by eyewitnesses on social media, security personnel who invaded the town could be seen shooting sporadically while bodies littered the streets.

Although, the nature of the incident is unknown, speculations are that the situation was a planned reprisal attack by the Nigerian military deployed from the 34 Artillery Brigade in Obinze, after a clash between ESN corps and the military had resulted in deaths.

The group had released a video which went viral last week, boasting that they had confronted and dislodged some security men who attacked them and displayed the vehicles the military had abandoned while escaping.

Social Media users have called on the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, to respond to the situation and call the military to order.

The governor has however declared a dusk to dawn curfew in nine local government areas of the state, and has ordered the immediate arrest of the perpetrators.

Fayemi

Twitter users are dragging Governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi, for insisting that herdsmen could not leave Ondo State in line with a seven-days ultimatum provided by the state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu last week for herders to vacate forest reserves due to increase in criminal activities carried out in the bushes.

Fayemi had in a meeting on Monday with the national leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) and a few state governors at Akure, noted that herders were not asked to vacate the state, but should be properly licensed to operate in the forest reserves adding that the Fulanis were welcomed to stay as the South-West was their home.

“This is your home. You’ve lived here, married and done business with us. Nobody is going anywhere. The statement by the Ondo State Government had no eviction reference. Akeredolu cannot ask Fulani to vacate Ondo State. The area concerned is the forest reserves, and it is about registration and also to work in line with the law,” Fayemi said.

“What we are after is the criminals, not Fulani herdsmen, criminals are criminals irrespective of their ethnic group,” he added

Iwuanyanwu says IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, chasing Biafra the wrong way

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has counseled IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu to follow the footsteps of the late Biafra leader, Odimegwu Ojukwu, in his clamour for secession (Biafra).

The elder statesman who made the comments on Sunday while speaking when the leadership of the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) conferred on him the award as its grand patron in Owerri, the Imo State capital, added that before the beginning of the Biafra War in 1967, Ojukwu did not declare secession on his own, but was called upon by all to do so.

According to him, Ndigbo at the moment are not talking about secession but are demanding the restructuring of the country to allow for equity for all Nigerians.

Iwuanyanwu said; “Ojukwu did not ignore elders and he never declared Biafra on his own. It was the people from all walks of life – the academia, businessmen, civil and public servants that called upon him to declare the state of Biafra and become its leader.

“That was why Ojukwu was able to hold Nigeria for three years without rebellion. Most of us who fought the war were intelligent, but we had to join and fight the war. We’re very proud that we fought that war.

“You (Nnamdi Kanu) can’t come on your own and declare Biafra and ask me, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, to follow you. Even in a monarchical system, people’s opinions are sought. What do you have that you are declaring war here and there? You are only endangering the lives of your brothers, the youth who you claim to lead. You have to come and seek advice from Igbo elders. They’re the people that will guide you.

“All we’re asking for in Nigeria is to restructure Nigeria, which Gowon agreed, but his people rebuked him. Gowon also tried his best to fulfill most of the things that were agreed before the end of the war.”

The politician also added that IPOB members are endangering the lives, investments and properties of Igbos in Igboland and across Nigeria by their unguarded and provocative comments and actions.

“Igbo youths must avoid circumstances that they do not understand. What IPOB did during the #ENDSARS protests was very heinous. Their leader went about taking responsibility for issues and destructions they knew nothing about.

“He also ordered his followers to kill some people in Igboland. If you give orders for another person to be killed in your place, don’t be surprised that your people will be killed also. There is no place in Nigeria that you can’t find an Igbo man. So, ordering the killing of anyone in your community is endangering your people. Apart from the fact that most of our population live outside Igboland, Igbo investment outside Igboland is over $2 trillion,” he said.

Nnamdi Kanu To Pay Nigerian Soldiers, Police Officers Salary, he gives Condition.

The leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has offered to pay Nigerian soldiers and police officers salary amid the outcry by Nigerians on the ongoing police brutality in the country.

There are reports that Kanu’s statement is coming at a time protesting youths in Nigeria are agitating for the end to police brutalization and extrajudicial killings of Nigerians. The protesters have been on the streets for more than a week now, protesting the brutalities, humiliation, and extortion of Nigerians, especially the youths.

The protesters demanded an end to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a police unit under the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department headed by the Deputy Inspector General of Police Anthony Ogbizi, using a hashtag: #EndSARS.

On Sunday, October 11, 2020, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu disbanded SARS following a widespread protest from Nigerians worldwide.

However, since the announcement that SARS has been scrapped, the protesters refused to leave the streets, which a Presidential Advisory Committee said  might force the Federal Government to take drastic measures against the protesting youths.

On Tuesday, October 20, men suspected to soldiers of the Nigerian Army invaded a peaceful protest at Lekki toll gate on Tuesday evening, October 20, killing #EndSARS protesters in the process.

Apparently displeased with the attacks on peaceful protesters at the Lekki toll gate, some Nigerians believed to be thugs, went on rampage as they were seen vandalizing several properties across the nation including the burning of police stations and killing of police officers.

Speaking after the unrest in Nigeria, Kanu stressed that as a Nigerian soldier or police officer if the person should “resign from Nigeria Police/Army Irrespective of your tribe, IPOB will pay you two months salary in advance”, adding that his pro-Biafra group will “furthermore pay your monthly salary while you work for your people.”

“If you resign from Nigeria Police/Army Irrespective of your tribe, #IPOB will pay you 2 months salary in advance and furthermore pay your monthly salary while you work for your people,” Kanu said.

Lekki toll gate massacre: IPOB accuses Tinubu of aiding killing of End SARS protesters

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Wednesday, linked the shooting at the lekki toll gate in Lagos State to Bola Tinubu, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

IPOB alleged that Tinubu “aided and abated” the killings of End SARS protesters by gunmen believed to be soldiers at the Lekki toll gate.

A statement by IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, said the APC National Chairman won’t be allowed to enjoy his alleged stolen wealth.

According to Powerful: “IPOB is calling on all the revolutionists to organize themselves together and bring down every property belonging to former Gov Ahmed Tinubu.

“He can’t aid and abate the killing of peaceful protesters in Lekki and expect to enjoy his stolen wealth in peace.

“Other wicked politicians masterminding this carnage or supporting Fulani terrorist government tormenting Nigerians should also be made to reap the reward of their atrocities.”
