BBN: Maria dashes fellow wildcard, Pere’s hope for a relationship

Big Brother Naija contestant, Maria has turned down the relationship advances of her fellow wildcard, Pere.

Maria left Pere heartbroken after she informed him on Monday night that she does not want to be involved with him.

At the time, Pere took her aside to tell her he was interested in her.

He said;

I don’t know how to articulate this so you would understand. I really like you”

Maria did not allow him finish his sentence when she responded;

“Okay can we stop.

I don’t like you so can we just skip it and I’m not faking it.”

A stunned Pere couldn’t say another word as Maria ended the conversation with “cool? Can I go to bed now please” before walking out on Pere.

With her light-complexioned skin, she could easily pass for a mixed race- what people here in Nigeria typically refer to as ‘half-caste’.
However, with the stories and introduction, she made about herself, Nengi is not mixed but purely Nigerian.

Before getting into the Big Brother Naija house, Nengi had already garnered a large fan base for herself as she is a beauty queen and has been in the pageantry world.

Big Brother Naija Reality TV Show had always produced great social media and all time Influencers, some brand brand ambassadors, political appointees, business men and women, everyone gets to use their fame to make some cash in one way or another.

The 2020 episode is the show was not a different and it has produced more celebrities than any other season since this season was held with everyone on a lockdown, people who had no idea that shows like the existed began to watch it almost all day long.

It served as a distraction to the fact that no work, no money, no going out and many other social activities many would have preferred other than sitting at home all day watching people on TV. They had no choice but to join the watching league.

Now one of the celebrities made out is this show is Nengi and she was mostly celebrated for her beauty which is no totally natural, she had some surgeries done on herself which she admitted severally while in the house. The 2020 BBNaija show really brought out her difference and tolerance.

Nengi has a huge fan base who stand strongly by her, even though she had a rival with a very strong fan base, Erica, she was exceptional but today’s gist is not about how good or bad she was, it is about what she did online and how people are reacting to it.

Most BBNaija housemates are still trending online for any little thing they do, Nengi is trending for writing terrible, in her congratulatory message to the newly appointed Face of Girl Child in Bayelsea state.

A position not too different from that of Nengi in the state, the newly appointed is a young lady who bagged two first class degrees from different universities at a tender age, she deserved the honor but Nengi’s English has been causing reactions online.

Here is what she wrote as congratulatory message to the young lady;

In case you did not notice the grammatical errors, here is the little I can make or it;

Nengi in her writing used the word ‘thru’ instead of ‘through’ which was very unofficial and made people talk. She also said ‘worthy for the honor’ instead of ‘worthy of the honor’ a clear error no one would miss. This and a little more things were very incorrect in her grammar, especially for the fact that she studied English language.

This got people talking, some were although trying to defend her online but for the fact that she studied English language in the University is making the issue trend even more.

Most people said English is not the measure of intelligence and that she should be left alone, how about being official and being well articulated as a public figure that she has become?

Many things have been said about what she wrote and how she wrote it, but these are few of the reactions to her tweet congratulating the new face of girl child in Bayelsea state.

Nengi was one of the most beautiful Housemate to grace then 2020 big brother Naija reality TV show and many have attested to that, she has all it takes to make the most beautiful girl for the 2020 season of the show.

She also has a unique photoshoot postings that causes stir online, the fact that she made a mistake or couldn’t compose a proper Congratulatory message does not make her wiser nor dumper than anyone else.

Laycon, BBN season 5 winner advocates for youths on SARS issue.

The big brother NAIJA (BBN) season 5 winner, Laycon , advocates for youths on SARS issue. He disclosed this by sharing a video of him speaking with a top officer in the police force. He mentioned that he was once a victim of police harassment.

The video below reveals his discussion with the top police officer.

Laycon wrote alongside with the video he posted;

“Advocating for change . We all deserve to feel safe in our cities. We should not have to seek for protection from the people that are meant to protect us.”

Laycon breaks record as he wins big brother Naija season 5

Years ago when big brother Naija (BBN) reality show started, I never liked the concept . Of course, I castigated the immoral acts displayed by some of the housemates but beyond that, I have viewed the reality show differently. Some things are now obvious to me, which I probably didn’t realise when the show was flagged off.

Basically from another point of view, BBN is a very big platform and I wouldn’t mind being an housemate. Really ,I can be an housemmate and not get entangled in any love affair in the house. The reality show has been tagged as +18 and parental guidance has been emphasised. Based on this ,under no circumstances should parents watch this reality show with their kids around. Moreover stricter measures can be taken by parents , such as blocking channels transmitting the reality show.
I can’t disagree with the fact that big brother Naija Platform is a life changing experience for Nigerian youths who are opportune to become housemates. One of the housemates in the recently concluded season is Laycon. He has been in the music industry for quite a while without gaining a large audience, he obviously had a small circle of fans before gaining entry into the reality show. However, what do we see now? It happened that even while the reality show was on going, the platform had given him the fame he struggled to have over the years. I checked his instagram (IG) page and could notice the huge transition. Within a span of the first 6weeks of the reality show , his followers on instagram increased from less than ten thousand followers to over 500 thousand followers.

Then as soon as the reality show was concluded, Laycon’s followers hit 1.4million…what a big surprise! No housemate has broken this record in previous and recent seasons of the big brother reality show. On the 27th of September 2020, Laycon was finally crowned the winner of big brother lockdown season 5. Congratulations Laycon!
Would you however turn down the opportunity to be an housemate in the big brother’s house? I believe every youth has the ability to make a choice to either portray decency or immoral act. However, individual goal and essence of the BBN platform is something that really counts. The question is , what would you do with such a platform? Apparently, the big brother’s platform has a huge fan base and audience.

Talking about immorality, a lot of movies have romantic scenes and are shown through various media , this includes the internet. I am not in support of immorality but bringing down the reality show (BBN) does not change anything or reduce immoral acts in the world. It has only gotten worse since the evolution of science and technology, which we cannot do without.

The kids we try to protect have access to the internet, this bring me to the conclusion that…parents have a huge role to play, in ensuring their children are not exposed to contents which could jeopardise their future. Train your children, guide them and to a large extent, educate them about the implications of getting involved in immoral acts!
Talking further about BBN reality show, it’s no news that the grand price sums up to 85million naira. Excuse me, what kind of empowerment could be better than this? That is absolutely mouth watering! Even if a civil servant works for 35 years in this country, he or she wouldn’t still earn such. Considering this, what intelligent citizens of this country ought to call for are strict measures to ensure that a level of decency is observed in the Big Brother Naija reality show.
