Few days before the resumption of primary and secondary schools in the state, a member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr Abiola Oladapo, has gifted some education materials to the over 1,000 pupils of the state.
Oladapo, who represents Ondo West Constituency 2 in the state Assembly, distributed the materials, worth millions of naira, at the free summer lesson he organised for the pupils in his constituency.
Distributing the materials to the beneficiaries, the lawmaker said the motive was to encourage young ones in primary and secondary schools in the state to take education as an important tool for their development and the development of the nation.
He said, ” I just came around to encourage and support the initiative that I started a month ago to develop the students educational background. Students would also benefit from our scholarship programmes.
“Thousands of students across my constituency are benefited from the summer lesson programme. Learning aids were also given to the students. This is just a motivator for the students, they must take their studies serious.”
“I believe education is the most important tool you can receive, that can bring you most success in society today. Education lessens the challenges you would face in life. The more knowledge you gain the more opportunities will open up to allow individuals to achieve better possibilities in career and personal growth.
“I also believe education is important because it helps us develop a unique perspective of looking at life. Education has played a major role for all individuals in the society. It has allowed the community to succeed both socially and economically by enabling it to develop common culture and values.”
Oladapo called for more government investment in education and appealed to corporate and private organisations to also join hands with the government to move the sector forward.
