Let’s close ranks to secure Ebonyi’s future, PDP gov aspirant urges leaders.

A Peoples Democratic Party governorship aspirant in the 2023 general election in Ebonyi State, Ifeanyi Odii, has said it is more imperative for leaders and stakeholders of the party to close ranks and secure the future of Ebonyi people than engage in frivolous lies capable of scuttling its chances ahead of the polls.

Odii, who pointed out that the common enemy of the PDP in the state was the ruling All Progressives Congress, maintained that he was the authentic governorship ‘candidate’ of the party.

The PUNCH had reported that the National Working Committee of the PDP cancelled the May 28 and 29, 2022 primary election, that elected Odii as ‘candidate’, claiming it was held against its directive and ordered a rescheduled primary election on June 5 and 6, 2022.

The rescheduled primary election brought the Senator representing Ebonyi Central Zone in the Red Chamber, Senator Obinna Ogba, as the ‘candidate’ of the PDP in the state. But a Federal High Court sitting in Abakaliki, the state capital, declared Ogba’s ‘candidature’ null and void, and upheld Odii’s.
