Governor Sanwo-Olu gives MC Oluomo fresh appointment after NURTW sacked him

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu, has appointed former National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) boss, Musiliu Akinsanya alias MC Oluomo, as Chairman of Parks Management Committee.

The new appointment was contained in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotosho.

MC Oluomo was named in a 25-man committee set up by the Lagos state government to oversee the affairs of all motor parks and garages in the state.

Recall that the NURTW sacked him as the chairman of the union days ago, and dissolved the Lagos State council.

Omotosho said, “The Lagos State Government has set up a committee to oversee the affairs of all motor parks and garages in the state.

This is in fulfillment of the government’s promise to ensure that events in the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) are not allowed to threaten law and order.

The government has, therefore, exercised its constitutional powers to ensure that no vacuum, which can disrupt the peace of our dear state, is allowed to exist in the parks.”
