Fayemi visits mother of air force officer who died in Abuja plane crash

The governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi, has paid a condolence visit to the mother of one of the personnel of the Nigerian Air Force who died in the Abuja military plane crash.

Flight Sergeant Olasunkanmi Olawunmi, an indigene of Ogotun Ekiti in Ekiti state, is one of the seven officers who died in the plane crash on Sunday, February 21.

Governor Fayemi on Tuesday, February 23, met with the mother of the deceased, Mrs Omolola Olawunmi.

The Ekiti state governor shared the photos of himself with the bereaved mother in a tweet posted on his verified Twitter handle just as he prayed for the soul of the deceased.

A spokesperson for the Air Force, Ibikunle Daramola, disclosed in a statement that the aircraft crashed while returning to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja after reporting engine failure en-route Minna.
