The Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Practitioners’ Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) has cautioned Nollywood actor and producer, Yomi Fabiyi over his recently released controversial movie ‘Oko Iyabo’.
On Monday, July 5, Fabiyi shared excerpts from the new movie on his Instagram and YouTube page.
The movie seems based on the travails of alleged pedophile, Baba Ijesha, who was arrested and arraigned in court for allegedly sexually harassing the ward of comedienne, Princess.
However, since the release of the excerpt, many Nigerians, especially other entertainers have continued to criticise Fabiyi and the new movie.
The film, ‘Oko Iyabo’ portrays Princess’s underaged foster daughter as Baba Ijesha’s lover.
It also depicts Baba Ijesha as a victim of a setup orchestrated by Princess.
The characters in the film take on the names of individuals involved in the case including actress, Iyabo Ojo whom the story apparently centers around.
Fans and celebrities, including the movie committee, TAMPAN have now accused the actor of making a movie about Baba Ijesha’s rape saga with real names of those involved in the case, and also reportedly making it look like the minor was having an affair with Baba Ijesha who is now facing trial for alleged child molestation and sexual abuse.
TAMPAN’s Director of Research and Documentation, Yemi Amodu said Fabiyi was invited because the movie has sparked off another round of dissension between the group and the public.
TAMPAN further said that the controversy the subject matter of the movie has generated is against its ethics and virtue.
Members of the public have been asked to exercise patience as ”justice will be delivered.”
The statement published on Monday, July 5;
“The TAMPAN Committee on Ethics, Conflict and Resolution wishes to inform the general public that the association has summoned Mr. Yomi Fabiyi who is the Producer/Director of the controversial film titled “OKO IYABO” to appear before it on Thursday 11th July 2021.
“This invitation becomes very necessary because of the controversy that the subject matter of his film has generated which is against our ethic and virtue.
Despite that, we realize that the film has sparked off another round of dissension between TAMPAN and the public; this is unacceptable to us and unsuitable to what we represent.
“We hereby implore the general public and the parties concerned to please exercise patience as our eminent association is on top of this issue and will certainly ensure fairness and justice.”

He took up skateboarding.
Smith and his siblings were youth ambassadors for Project Zambi, which provides assistance in conjunction with Hasbro for Zambian children orphaned by AIDS.
Smith made his major role debut in the 2006 film The Pursuit of Happyness as Christopher, the son of Chris Gardner, Will Smith’s character. In April 2014, Smith was cast in the film The Good Lord Bird, which is based on the 2013 novel of the same name by James McBride. Smith plays Henry Shackleford, a young slave living in Kansas Territory in 1857 who encounters abolitionist John Brown.
Smith took a break from acting following the release of his mixtape, Cool Tape Vol. 2 to focus on music, returning to act in Netflix original, The Get Down in 2017. Smith also had a voice acting role in Neo Yokio and a role in Nashville as himself. Commenting on his break from acting, he said “The kinds of roles I was being offered weren’t exactly what I was looking for, nothing felt really necessary that I needed to be in until this came along”. Smith has returned to acting in films with the announcement of a film based on skateboarding. On 21 June 2018, Crystal Moselle’s Skate Kitchen released its first official trailer showcasing Smith as the main character. The film was officially released on August 10, 2018 after being showcased at Sundance in Winter 2017. He will next star in Life in a Year alongside Cara Delevingne.

The project was later released four days later to streaming platforms. Smith’s influences include Kid Cudi, Kanye West, Kurt Cobain and Tycho. Smith also considers his father, Will Smith, as an inspiration saying “He started in music and transitioned to movies. I started with movies, and then I transitioned into making music – I look at him and use it as a blueprint of how good of a person he is, but not necessarily the success that he reached.”
GQ described Smith as “in a league of his own” in terms of fashion and a “superstar who has taken fashion to an entirely different level”. Smith has called Tyler the Creator, Batman and Poseidon his icons when it comes to fashion. Smith said that Tyler the Creator introduced him to the brand Supreme. Batman’s dark, gothic scenery has influenced the clothing he has created through his brand MSFTSrep and his personal clothing style, wearing Batman protective armor to Kanye West’s and Kim Kardashian’s wedding and his prom. MSFTSrep’s range includes hoodies, T-shirt, trousers and vests. In May 2013 Smith collaborated with a Korean designer, Choi Bum Suk, to create a pop-up store in which customers can buy clothes with their collaborated logos.
Smith raised controversy in 2016 after modelling in a womenswear campaign for Louis Vuitton wearing a skirt. Explaining his choice to wear a skirt, Smith said he was attempting to combat bullying, saying “In five years, when a kid goes to school wearing a skirt, he won’t get beat up and kids won’t get mad at him”. Smith continued to wear womenswear throughout the rest of 2016. Smith was the first male model to model women’s wear for Louis Vuitton. Smith created a denim-line with fashion brand G-Star in 2018.

On August 27, 2018, Just Water launched officially in the UK.
Smith’s father, Will, revealed that his son sought an emancipation ruling, with the consent of his parents, as a present for his 15th birthday. Will revealed to the media that Smith’s primary motivation is the establishment of his own residence and also explained that his children are not subject to strict parenting conduct: “We generally don’t believe in punishment. From the time Jaden was five or six we would sit him down, and all he has to do is be able to explain why what he did was the right thing for his life.” However, Smith and his father appeared together on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on May 15, 2013 and Smith said:
The thing that people don’t get is everything at his house is free. So I can get anything and everything at his house, so I’m going to be there for 20, 30 more years. He [Will Smith] says that as soon as I have a movie that’s bigger than one of his movies I can get my own house.
In June 2017, Smith moved out of his parents’ house into a $4 million home in Hidden Hills.
Smith is an avid “conspiracy theorist” and his statements often generate controversy. This includes theories about the Illuminati, and tweets about chemtrails.

Smith dated Sarah Snyder from 2015 to 2017. The two broke up after “growing apart” amid cheating rumors. Snyder inspired numerous songs on Smith’s debut album, Syre.
Smith is a vegetarian. He started a mobile restaurant providing free vegan dinners for the homeless (but where others pay when they dine). His vegan lifestyle caused his parents to stage an intervention, following a rapid decline in health that led to his skin turning gray. He was later diagnosed with lactose intolerance and celiac disease. His declining health, however, resulted in Smith returning to vegetarianism.
In November 2018, Smith announced that he was in a relationship with rapper Tyler, the Creator, although Tyler himself has denied these claims.
Unknown gunmen on Saturday night injured three police officers during an attack on the divisional police headquarters in Udung Uko local government area of Akwa Ibom State.
Eyewitnesses told journalists on Sunday the gunmen stormed the police station in a Toyota Sienna car and opened fire on police officers on duty.
The attack is the fourth on Akwa Ibom police facilities in the last two months.
The spokesman of the state police command, Odiko Macdon, confirmed the attack.
He, however, said no life was lost in the incident.
He said: “An attempt was made at our facility in Udung Uko local government area of Akwa Ibom State but our men repelled that attack. There was no casualty. The vigilance of our men on duty led to the foiling of the attack.
“Armed men came into the station in a Toyota Sienna car with an unknown number and opened fire. Our men replied them and they zoom off. The place has been fortified and investigation is ongoing.”
Big Brother Naija host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, has revealed why a lot of steamy and intimate moments that occurred in the house were not shown on live TV.
According to the 5-time host, while a lot played out in the BBNaija house, some scenes have to be censored due to the regulations of the National Broadcasting Commission, (NBC).
Ebuka made this known in an interview with Beat FM while reacting to claims by fans that viewers are shown what the organisers want them to see.
He also refuted insinuations that he had any grouse against Erica.
I like Erica; I really like Erica, which is also funny because people thought that I hated her. She gave us good content; she and Kiddwaya.
“First things first, we live in a country that has regulations. We all know about the NBC; there are certain things we can never show whether we like it or not. I always say that the show would be a different show if it was not a Nigerian show or if it was not in Nigeria because of the kind of things that we cannot show. Those things are not in our call; it is just legal issues.
“Secondly, this talk about what we showed about Kiddwaya and Erica; we actually did not show anything about them if anybody remembers. Nothing was shown about them. We did not show anything. In fact, it was even Ka3na and Praise that people saw under the sheets.
A lot of these things happened under the sheets; so, we do not know what is happening. We are not going to send a ninja to remove the sheet so that we can get a good shot.
People say we showed some things that made Erica and Kiddwaya look bad and I ask how? How did we make them look bad? Everything that has been revealed on the reunion show is actually on air. It just so happened that people decided to assume what they assumed,” he said.

It is big. I am not even going to try and be modest about it. It is a very big deal to me. That is where people want to be. There are bigger things coming, yea, but I appreciate this, I am very grateful for it.
“My price just went up,” he said.
Grammys, describing Laycon on its websitewrote: “He comes from a line of young Afrobeat singers keeping the genre on the lips of many. Meet Laycon, a Nigerian Afrobeats/Afrorap artist who makes performing this music seem as natural as breathing.”
Cardi B is not here for the Sha’Carri Richardson slander.
Cardi came to the suspended sprinter’s defense on Saturday (July 3), after Australian journalist, Claire Lehman, jumped out the window with the theory Richardson may be on steroids. The sprinter made headlines after she was suspended by the United States Anti-Doping Association on Friday (June 2), for testing positive for marijuana, following her much-publicized win at the Olympic trials last month. Lehmann claims Richardson’s long hair and nails prove she may be on performance enhancing drugs, too. An assumption that turned Lehmann into a trending topic on Twitter. Cardi had time for a response. “B I O T I N…….You needs for your thin ass hair,” the “Up” rapper responded to Lehmann’s wild claims, referring to the vitamin B supplement.
Cardi also addressed the topic on Instagram. “This is how I feel about the Sha’Carri situation, right. I feel like we cannot turn time around,” Bardi told her fans. “I feel like the Olympics are going to try and be so hard on her ’cause this has been a big situation. However, that doesn’t take away [from the fact] that she’s the most talked about athlete. Three years from now, she’s going to be the No. 1 most-anticipated to go to the Olympics.”
Cardi B
Lehmann’s claims are circumstantial at best. “Not sure whether the nails are real or fake, but in case you didn’t know very strong nails & hair can be a side effect of steroid use,” she tweeted, clearly unfamiliar with the use of hair extensions and press-on nails. “Look, people in track know who is and who isn’t on the roids. Just because they couldn’t ping her on it doesn’t mean they don’t know.”
Khris Middleton scored 32 points to power the Milwaukee Bucks into the NBA Finals on Saturday with a series-clinching 118-107 win over the Atlanta Hawks.
The third-seeded Bucks beat the host Hawks in the best-of-seven series 4-2 to book their first appearance in the league championship since 1974.
“As a little kid everybody wanted to be part of this chance to go to the finals. This is amazing,” said Bucks guard Jrue Holiday.
Milwaukee will face the Western Conference champion Phoenix Suns in the finals which begin on Tuesday.
The Bucks won despite the absence of two-time league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, who sat out with a injured left knee. The 26-year-old Greek forward hyperextended the knee when he landed awkwardly in game four of the series.
The Hawks got their top player Trae Young back after he missed the previous two games with a bruised foot. But Young struggled to score in game six, shooting just four-of-17, missing all six of his three point attempts and finishing with just 14 points.
Holiday stepped up for the second straight game to help fill Milwaukee’s offensive void with Antetokounmpo out. Holiday flirted with a triple double, finishing with 27 points, nine rebounds and nine assists.
Brook Lopez, who was the star of Thursday’s game five win with 33 points, delivered 13 points on Saturday for the Bucks.
The young Hawks, who last made it to the finals 60 years ago when they were based in St. Louis, were trying to force a seventh game. Cam Reddish came off the bench to score a team high 21 points, Bogdan Bogdanovic had 20 points and John Collins finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.
Middleton shot 10-of-22 from the field and made all eight of his free throws as he scored 16 straight points for the Bucks in the second half.
“I just tried to shoot and be confident, just play the right way,” Middleton said.
The Bucks started quickly, jumping out to a 15-4 lead in the first quarter after a Lopez dunk. The Hawks clawed their way back into it in the second quarter to trail by just four, 47-43, at the half.
Milwaukee broke the game open in the third quarter by outscoring the Hawks 44-29 as Middleton and Holiday took charge of the offence. Lopez made an alley-oop dunk with 1:29 to go in the fourth to make it 113-110 and PJ Tucker nailed a clutch 23-foot three pointer with 62 seconds remaining to stretch the lead to 10 points and help seal the win.
The second seeded Suns will have home court advantage in the finals based on having a better record in the regular season.
Phoenix edged the Bucks in two games during the regular season, 128-127 in overtime in Milwaukee and 125-124 in Arizona.
They have met just once before in the postseason, back in 1978 when the Bucks won 2-0 in a best-of-three first round series.

Lilo wrote on Twitter: ”Stop wearing fake things, especially shoes, bags and wristwatches. It’s annoying and disrespectful to people who pay a lot for the original.”
Reacting, Oshea Jackson Jr, who is the son of Hollywood legend, Ice Cube asked what she meant by her statement.
He quoted Lilo’s tweet and wrote; ”Lol maaan what? Y’all do you lmao”
Asma’u Ahmad Tijjani has narrated how a nursing staff of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto, Folashade Adesina, injured her newborn baby over a carryover allegation.
Asma’u alleged that the nurse used injection needle to pierce the eye of her baby few minutes after she was born in order to avenge a carryover she got at the Sokoto Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), where she worked as a non-academic staff.
She recalled that one week to her expected date of delivery, the nurse met her in her office and said she wanted to have a private discussion with her.
“Immediately we came out from my office, she started asking some questions. She wanted to know when I would go to the hospital and my expected date of delivery, as well as my names in full.
“This really surprised me because that was the first time I was having one-on-one discussion with her, so I refused to reveal all these information to her.
“She then told me that she was in possession of my medical record and knew everything about me and only wanted to help.
“When my pregnancy was due for delivery and I was taken to the labour room, precisely on the 15th of June, the same woman came and stood by my bed, speaking Yoruba language to the nurse that was attending to me. This made me very uncomfortable because I did not know her mission. So I complained to my nurse, who pleaded with her to leave the place,” she said.
She continued, “Immediately after my delivery, my nurse started preaching to me to always try to be kind to the people I deal with, especially in my workplace. She said the nurse I complained about told her that I gave her a carryover.
I was shocked to hear this because I am not a teaching staff of the university and have no business with students’ scripts. So how could I give her a carryover?
“When my husband came, the same woman came and collected my baby, saying she was taking her to him. I asked one of the doctors present at the time to follow her, but she declined.
“After some minutes, she brought the baby back, and when I received her, I noticed some blood coming out from her eyes, so I started crying and shouting; and before you knew it, the labour room was filled with hospital staff.”
She also said, “When they realised what happened, they all rushed out to look for that nurse, but she was nowhere to be found and her phone was switched off.
The baby was taken to the eye section of the hospital for examination, where it was confirmed that both her eyes were pricked, but the object did not penetrate the two lenses.
“The nurse, however, came the following morning with a basket of cooked food, which I rejected, on the ground of what she did to my baby.
“My relatives who were with me at the time started beating her before she was rescued by her colleagues.”
Mrs Tijjani appealed to the hospital authorities, the police and the state government to ensure justice for her baby?
Reacting to the matter, the hospital authority issued a statement acknowledging the receipt of a complaint letter from the nursing mother.
The statement, which was signed by Mansur Wadata, the principal information officer of the hospital, reads, “The hospital received a complaint letter from the mother of a newborn baby girl delivered at the hospital, alleging that a nursing officer caused injury to the eyes of her baby.
The hospital management is investigating the case, with a view to authenticating the claim.
“We are assuring the general public that appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against whoever is found wanting, in accordance with civil service rules and condition of service of the hospital.
“The hospital is ever ready to work with relevant authorities to carry out investigation to ensure that those involved are made to face the full wrath of the law.
“The general public is hereby reassured that the hospital will not derail from its core values for excellent performance – transparency, professionalism, respect for the rights of its clients, and discipline.
While the hospital frowns at any act of indiscipline by any of its staff, it equally assures the general public of its commitment towards ensuring strict discipline against unethical and unprofessional conducts.
“To this end, the management of the hospital calls for calm from its clients (patients) and the general public as it will continue to ensure the safety of patients and their relatives.”

The Instagram page of controversial blogger Tunde Ednut’s has again been deleted by the video and photo-sharing app, making the blogger lose more than one million followers.
This makes it the fourth time Ednut would be losing his account in the last 7 months. He has always been in a vigorous tussle with Instagram after creating a second Instagram account early this year which eventually got suspended a few days after and now completely deleted.
“Follow these backup and help repost. Thank you so much,” the entertainer had posted on his backup page.
The singer was stripped of his first verified Instagram account with over 2.6 million followers and an engaging audience for violating Instagram’s terms and conditions in December.
However, he made his way back to the platform on January 10, 2021, after orchestrating a N1 million giveaway to aid his followership recovery.
He successfully recovered over a million followers in his new account.
According to reports, the blogger used his platform to engage in unpleasant activities such as body-shaming and cyberbullying other celebrities, leading to the deletion of his initial account.
The reason Instagram deleted his most recent account has not been confirmed.
A 25-year-old comedian based in Calabar, Kingsley Ekpe has allegedly drowned in a private swimming pool while celebrating the birthday of his Principal, popularly referred to as Mr James.
According to Daily Post, Ekpe drowned at a private hotel while swimming with his friends during the birthday celebration.
An eyewitness said the incident occurred along Calabar Mutala Mohammed Highway in Calabar Municipal local government of the State.
He said the deceased, who is also a teacher at Lott Carey Secondary School, Uwanse in Calabar South Local Government Area, met his untimely death when he and his colleagues went to the hotel to celebrate the birthday of the Principal of the school.
The celebrant and his guests took time to swim in the hotel’s swimming pool amidst other merriments and when it was time to depart the hotel, it was observed that Kingsley was missing,” the source said.
The Principal of the School, who was the chief celebrant said it was his girlfriend who raised the alarm when they were about to leave the place.
“We searched everywhere and when we looked into the pool, he was in a sitting position.
“Ekpe was brought out of the pool and strangely it was discovered that he was dead.
We pressed his stomach to gorge out water and instead of water, it was blood that came out. Strangely too, there were no marks or any wound on his body”, Jones added.
However, the management of the hotel alleged that the deceased “took a lot of drink with his friends and was asthmatic that was why it happened”.
The deceased’s father, Mr Lawrence Asuquo Ekpe said he was angry with the claims by the Manager of the Hotel that his son was asthmatic that was why he drowned.
“Can a man live with his son for 25 years without knowing the health status of the child?” the father asked.
Mr Ekpe said Kingsley was hail and hearty before leaving the house that day and had no inkling of the tragedy about to befall the family.
“My son plays football. Does an asthmatic patient play football? He jogs every morning, does asthmatic patient jog? Certainly the hotel is not saying the truth of what took place there”, he fumed.
At the Federal Housing Police Station where the matter was reported, the DPO confirmed the incident, stating that investigations were in progress to unravel what “actually took place there and no stone will be left unturned to get to the root of the matter”.

The Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Kubwa, Abuja has dismissed a motion filed by a government-sponsored activist, Kenechukwu Okeke to strike out the substantive suit filed by 50 celebrities and human rights activists to stop their trial and direct criminal complaint/suit filed against them.
The court also by this ruling upheld all injunctive orders restraining the Nigeria Police Force, Kenechukwu Okeke from taking any steps to prosecute the 50 Nigeria individuals over the 2020 EndSARS protest.
Okeke had filed a suit in his capacity at the FCT Magistrate’s Court Wuse Zone 6 against all the 50 individuals for showing support for the October 2020 #EndSARS protest by tweeting about it or getting physically involved.
Ruling on the matter on Friday, Justice Bello Kawu held that the injunctive orders made by the court and the suit filed by the human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju in his representative capacity is proper and legal in law as the FCT High Court sitting in Kubwa-FCT is acting in its supervisory jurisdiction over the lower Magistrate’s Court, against the criminal suit filed by Kenechukwu Okeke.
The lead counsel for Adeyanju, Samuel Ihensekhien, representing 49 others in the suit, commended the ruling, adding that it was a victory for the ordinary people of Nigeria, and a pointer to the fact that peaceful protest is not a crime in Nigeria.
He said the landmark ruling would enable the court to take and entertain their final application to quash and dismiss the frivolous, direct criminal complaint and charge filed by Okeke at the Magistrate’s Court against the affected individuals.
Ihensekhien said, “By virtue of today’s ruling, his motion of dismissal of this substantive case has been dismissed by the honourable FCT High Court. The consequence of it is that the court will hear the substantive application to formally dismiss the pending criminal complaint and charge before the Magistrate’s court.
“We are so happy and justice can still be found in Nigeria in spite of the elaborate and extensive arguments over whether this case should be dismissed or not. Thank God the court held in our favour and we are so grateful.”
The matter has been adjourned to September 7, 2021.
The lawyer alleged that during the protest, his belongings were destroyed and that the defendants who promoted the #EndSARS protests must be brought to justice.
Those listed as defendants include Sam Adeyemi, senior pastor of Daystar Christian Centre; Kanu Nwankwo, former Nigerian international footballer; Innocent Idibia, Nigerian singer and songwriter, popularly known as 2face; David Adeleke, Nigerian Afropop singer, better known as Davido.
Others listed in the suit include Aisha Yesufu, Kiki Mordi, Peter Okoye, Paul Okoye, Deji Adeyanju, Tiwa Savage, Folarin Falana (Falz), Feyikemi Abudu, and Debo Adebayo.
