A Nigerian man has taken to his social media account and shared a heartbreaking story that got people’s attention. The man identified as @Efosa_MD shared the touching story via his recent tweet on his Twitter account.

@Efosa_MDwl, while sharing his post, revealed that today happened to be his sister marriage. He stated while they were are preparing for the event, his mother collapsed, and she is no more.

He wrote:

Lol. My sister is getting married today. My mom collapsed, and she’s no more.

It’s only God that would explain the feeling of @Efosa_MDwl at the moment. It’s a sad thing to lose a mother just like that. His sister, whose wedding is today would also be devastating because of what happened on the day that is supposed to be her happy day.

Reactions on social media as pictures from the induction parade of the University of Calabar, students showcased online. They were spotted performing different kinds of activities. Some sets of students were putting on red attires, black and white. “The first moment I saw the pictures, I was like asking myself ‘Are they student cultists?’ until I understood what was going on.

According to identified Facebook account “Nsikak Ibatt” who shared the pictures, said the activity was moved by the University of Calabar (UNICAL) students, Malabites and Malabresses, during the induction parade of newly admitted students of the department of Theatre, Film and Carnival Studies. Many students were seen performing lots of cultures as you can see in the pictures. Students were dressed “weirdly” clamouring on the streets.

In my opinion, Student Carnival is one of the nice activities that shows how creative and talented students can be, but regarding how things was done, I think the Malabites and Malabresses didn’t get everything right by not maintaining social distance and wearing nose masks. After the poster wrote “Earlier today, Malabites and Malabresses where in disbelief during the induction parade of newly admitted students of the department of Theatre, Film and Carnival Studies, University of Calabar” Some people said, the activity looks demonic and occultic initiation, while some recommended it as good and long time tradition in the University of Calabar.

In an interview that was granted to the father of Late Flight Sergeant Olasunkanmi Olawumi by Saturday Punch Newspaper, the 80-year-old man has narrated what happened on the day his son died in a plane crash that killed his son and 6 others who were also onboard the Beech craft.

Olasunkanmi’s father made it known that, the sad Sunday when his son died happens to be the thanksgiving Sunday of his Church, and that will be the first thanksgiving anniversary he will be celebrating in his life, as she alleged that he already hosted a small party at his house where they’ll eat and merry, as the thanksgiving service ended at exactly 10am that morning.

The 80-year-old man made it known that they were about to start the merriment at his house when the sad news was broken to him that his son had died in the crash that happened in Abuja, as he alleged that he almost died as well when he heard it because, he never thought of it for once.

He also said that two days before the crash, his son called him and they spoke over the phone of which he sent the money they used for the thanksgiving, and that he was told that the helicopter that crashed has being in use for the past 49 years, before it crashed due to engine failure last Sunday.

Olasunkanmi’s further urge the government to take care of the wife and three children his son left behind.

AKSU Student Who Attempted Suicide After Being Suspended Indefinitely Sends Openly Letter To The VC

It could be recalled that in January 2021, there was a pandemonium on social media after a student of Akwa Ibom State University, AKSU attempted to take his life because he was served a letter from the school Senate to be suspended indefinitely. This came after he was accused of malicious statements against the executive governor of the state, Mr Gabriel Udom Emmanuel. 

It was reported that Ekpo, Iniobong Isang popularly known as Afrosix Níní Jaara had allegedly called out on the governor to fulfill the promises he made during the 2019 Convocation ceremony in the school. He poetically said that Udom Emmanuel was using “Wizkid tongue” when he made the promises. He didn’t know this statement would land him in trouble.

 

However, he has been sending serious messages on social media (His official Facebook page) concerning what is happening to him. He said that he had suffered depression, attacks and was recently barred from entering the school. He is a final year student of agricultural engineering.

According to him, he quoted that “Last year September, I was blackmailed by the Student Disciplinary Committee of Akwa Ibom State University, they’ve caused me so much pain before, during and after my exams and at some point I felt suicidal.”

As a matter of fact, he pointed out that the school never gave him any letter to effect the indefinite suspension alleged to have been sent to him. From what was gathered in his post, he said that “the only letter I have is INDEFINITE SUSPENSION PENDING WHEN I’LL APPEAR BEFORE them, which I finally honored, and I was kicked out. I haven’t been given any INDEFINITE SUSPENSION LETTER FOR A CASE OF GROSS MISCONDUCT, and I’ll love to know my misconduct,” Ekpo said.

He further lamented that the school disciplinary committee have caused him pain. Adding that he cannot endure this pains for a long time and that he will continue to stand on the fact which is, “if they want me to defend myself, then they should show proof of the first letter they claimed I refused to honour,” he affirmed.

Ekpo also said that the committee should show evidence of the letters they claimed was sent to him. He said there is a limit to what his body can take at this point in time. Noting that he was going to resist any attempt by the school security to stop him from writing his test on Monday morning.

Autopsy report has revealed what killed Corper Ifeoma who died in Police custody

Earlier in September, 2020, news broke about the death of the National Youths Service Corps, the Amotekun Stella Ifeoma Abugu. The Nigeria Police through the Force Headquarters claimed she died due to drug abuse, which became highly disputed.

However, an medical autopsy carried out has revealed the lady died of strangulation. This was said to lead to lack of oxygen supply to her body. The autopsy also revealed that her private part was mutilated.

At the ongoing National Human Rights Commission’s Judical panel of inquiry into Police brutality in Abuja, Dr. B.A Abimiku, a postmortem specialist provided the findings of the autopsy on the late Miss Ifeoma.

During the sitting which took place yesterday, the The respondents were absent from the Panel. Counsel to the Nigeria Police said he saw the first respondent, Insp. Melai Isaac, the day before and informed him of the need to appear before the Panel today.

According to the doctor, the finger nail, the tongue and lips of the corpse were blueish which was an evidence that something was wrong with her respiratory system. There was also evidence of multiple fibroid.

Since the police claimed she took cocaine, he said they had to test her for drugs but the cocaine test was negative and other test to confirm the presence of other substance in her body were also negative.

The doctors,who confirmed that he has been a pathologist since 1994, also confirmed that they found some dead sperm deposits in the private part of the lady, indicating that there must have been some sexual activity.

In the early hours of yesterday, it was reported that two lovers were found dead in their apartment after they allegedly drank a poisonous substance believed to be snipper. The man identified as Emmanuel Evans Okafor and his beautiful girlfriend identified as Amaka Okafor both died hours after he posted a suicide note on Facebook and tagged her to the post.

According to his post, Emmanuel Evans Okafor said that he does not believe that he will for once type a long suicide note, adding that he has been depressed and no one knows what he has been going through for a while now and that he has lost his peace of mind. He said he once thought that money was everything but later realized that money can never buy peace of mind and he urged as many that sleeps and wakes up peacefully to be grateful to God for it is a privilege. He advised the people not to live that their lives alone and they should try as much as possible to put a smile on the faces of others because a lot of people are depressed.

“Nothing matters most to humanity than someone to be happy when he/she hears your name, be the reason for someone’s happiness,” he added.

He said that it is a pity that he has to leave this sinful world this way and that he is sorry to anyone he would disappoint by carrying out such an abominable act of suicide. He said it is very easy for someone to say suicide is never an option and that he does not wish for anyone to go through what he went through.

We are not sure why this man and his girlfriend decided to take their lives but from the suicide note he dropped on Facebook and tagged his lover, it shows that they went through tough times.

#Liverpool: Allison’s father died in a swimming pool in Brazil

The father of Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has died after drowning in a lake near his holiday home in southern Brazil on Wednesday, according to local police.

Jose Becker, 57, had been swimming at a dam on his property when the accident happened on Wednesday afternoon, Doroteo Machado Filho, a police inspector in the town of Lavras do Sul, told Reuters. No foul play was suspected.
Brazilian club Internacional, who both Alisson and his brother Muriel played for, tweeted their condolences.
“It is with great sadness that we received the news of Jose Agostinho Becker’s death, the father of our ex-goalkeepers Alisson and Muriel,” the club said.
Alisson began his career at Internacional before joining Roma in 2016. He moved to Liverpool, where he has established himself as one of the world’s best keepers, two years later.

The 28-year-old has been a regular for Liverpool since joining the club, helping them to win the Premier League, Champions League, Club World Cup and European Super Cup in that time.
He has also won 44 caps for Brazil and was named FIFA Best Men’s Goalkeeper in 2019.
Alisson’s brother, Muriel, also began his career at Internacional. The 34-year-old joined Portuguese club Belenenses in 2017 but returned to Brazil with Fluminense two years later.

A Port Harcourt bank manager’s wife, Blessing Oko Ikpor, has alleged that her husband is under a spell cast by a mistress.

The mother of four, told newsmen in Port Harcourt that the mistress who is now pregnant conned her husband into abandoning their 17 years marriage.

She also said that her husband held a secret traditional wedding with the mistress in a hotel in Umuahia, Abia State where the alleged mistress hails from.

Reacting to the allegation, the bank manager said he has been separated from the estranged wife for over two years and he has in custody, their three boys while the wife has their daughter.

The wife was seen in a viral video fighting with the alleged mistress in the husband’s office before security guards intervened.

He said: “The video about this matter has gone viral in the last two, three weeks and she has also done press statement and sent out, I have refrained from making comments because the matter is in court.

“I am aware that concerned friends and citizens have made response directly on those issues. The fact is that my children are involved in this and try to maintain some level of privacy for my own sake and that of my children.

I do not think this what I should be stating on the social media at the moment. My first son is 15 and he has told me that he is not happy with what is going on and I should make sure I do not join issue with such, and that is where I stand in this.

If she knows the appropriate way to do things, I do not think what she us doing is the right thing but she should know that a man in my level is not a mad man to wake up to do all those things.”

He added: “My children are living with me, my three boys are living with me and they have left for school and they are doing very well.

“Whatever petition she is sending to anyone, the truth is that I have seen worse than that on social media, just like I said earlier, I refrained from making comments on this, because I believe it is not the appropriate thing to do.

“We have separated for more than two years now but she still lives with my daughter. I am not going to say anything further on this until all issues are resolved. I do not see this as the best way to go about it, but since she thinks it is for her, I wish her the best.” he concluded.

However, Mrs. Ikpor maintained the matter is not yet in court.

American singer, Lady Gaga, offers to pay N240m for her stolen dogs

Grammy award-winning American singer-songwriter, Lady Gaga has offered to pay the sum of $500,000 (N240,000,000) to anyone who finds and rescues her dogs.

She revealed this on Thursday afternoon.

According to the American singer, both dogs are essential to her and she cannot afford to lose them.

Gaga’s dog walker was shot and her dogs stolen.

Ripples Nigeria gathered that the dog walker was shot four times in the chest while two of her precious pitbull dogs were stolen.

However, the music star has offered to pay $500,000 (N240M) to the thieves.

The dog walker, Ryan Fischer was ambushed close to his home in West Hollywood as he walked Gaga’s dogs Koji and Gustavo at around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021.

He was rushed to a local hospital while Koji and Gustavo were stolen, a source close to Gaga confirmed.

Sources told TMZ that it was not clear if the thieves knew the dogs belonged to Gaga, saying French Bulldogs are often targeted because they are in high demand.

Fischer is said to be recovering in the hospital.

Popular Nigerian comedian, Okey Bakassi has called out state governors and religious clerics for supporting and vindicating the actions of bandits.

Ripples reported earlier that some governors recently supported the calls for negotiation with bandits in order to end kidnappings in their States.

Also, recall that popular Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, had said the bandits were peaceful people and victims of circumstances who were forced into criminality.

The Islamic Cleric had called for a more lenient approach to the bandits’ activities, adding that attacking them brings out the ‘monster’ in them.

Speaking on the development, Bakassi on his Instagram page wondered why no one is settling Nigerian youths who are struggling to survive.

According to the veteran comedian, rewarding insurgents, bandits and those who go into crime in Nigeria has now become the order of the day, while other Nigerians struggling do not have any support.

Bakassi stated;

“I want to call your attention to this disturbing trend in Nigeria.

Service chiefs retired, but recently the National Assembly confirmed them as ambassadors.

“The same service chiefs who could not provide security.

“Also let me bring to your attention that recently some clerics and governors have been justifying what bandits are doing. Some are saying they should be settled and accepted into the society.

“My question is when you settle all insurgents, who is taking care of Nigerians who have refused to go into crime but are struggling .

COVID-19 has been here for a year, but no one is talking about how entertainers, Nigerian youths who have chosen not to do violence or crime would survive.

“If you Google how much an AK 47 cost, let’s say we all decide to purchase AK 47 and take youths into one forest and begin to kidnap innocent people suddenly the government who is busy can now shake your hands and defend why you should be settled by the government because you have gone through a lot.

Nigerian recording artiste, David Adeleke better known as Davido is the son of billionaire businessman, Adedeji Adeleke. Davido is the last born of the multi-billionaire.

Davido recently revealed that his father is his biggest influence.

According to the singer, his billionaire father, Adedeji Adeleke, worked as a manager at Burger King, a fast-food restaurant in the US before he became wealthy.

The singer disclosed this while speaking about his biggest inspiration during a performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk, a video series of live concerts hosted by NPR Music in Washington.

The inspiration for me has been my father, a Nigerian-American like me. He studied in the States. I studied there myself. I went to HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities), a predominantly black college,” he said.

A judge has denied Tory Lanez’s request to speak publicly about Megan Thee Stallion assault case.

Tory Lanez’s request for permission to speak publicly about the widely publicized Megan Thee Stallion assault case has been denied.

As reported back in January, per legal documents obtained by Complex, Lanez had asked the court to modify a protection order preventing him from publicly speaking on the case. The motion from Lanez’s team argued that, in their opinion, it was unfair that Megan could use her respective platforms to address the case while he was barred from doing the same. The protection order in question also restricts Lanez from contacting Megan via social media.

According to a report from Page Six, a judge denied Lanez’s request during a hearing on the case on Thursday. Lanez’s lawyer Shawn Holley argued at the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles on Thursday, per the report, that the order was “unfair” to his client. The judge overseeing the case, however, ruled that he can’t publicly address it.

Previously, a false story was widely circulated on Twitter and elsewhere claiming that Lanez’s charges in connection with the shooting had been dropped. The quickly-proven-wrong claims used a screenshot of a Los Angeles County court website to assert that Megan herself had dropped the charges. Not only would Megan not be the one dropping any such charges (that would be the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office), a rep from the D.A.’s Office confirmed that the case was unchanged at the time and pointed to a hearing date set for Feb. 25, i.e. today.

Tory Lanez

In October 2020, the D.A. announced that Lanez had been charged with one felony count each of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, registered firearm in a vehicle. At the time, he was also confirmed to be facing a “gun allegation and that he personally inflicted great bodily injury” on “a female friend in the Hollywood Hills.”

If convicted as charged, Lanez faces a potential max sentence of 22 years and eight months.
