Yahoo school proprietor and 13 of his ‘students’ in EFCC’s net in Benin

Operatives of the Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today, December 15, arrested Ese Isaiah, the suspected proprietor of a ‘Yahoo School’, and 13 of his students.

A statement released by the EFCC gave the names of the suspects as Alex Aimuanosa, Jeremiah Umoru, Destiny Aghayere, Christian Oghenekevwe, Wisdom Christopher, Daniel Matthew and Gift Patrick Others are Lucky Paul, Godspower Osatuohien, Edafe Isaiah, John Elvis, Favour Oseghale and Osas Egho

”They were arrested in Benin City based on intelligence on their alleged activities.

Items recovered from the suspects include mobile phones, laptops and a Lexus ES350.

They have made useful statements and will be charged to court as soon as the investigations are concluded” the agency said

75 suspected ‘yahoo boys’ arrested in Owerri

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 75 suspected internet fraudsters, popularly called yahoo boys in separate sting operations in Owerri, Imo State.

The Abuja Zonal Command arrested 46 suspects today, March 28, 2022, for alleged involved in computer-related fraud at different locations in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

A statement made available to Ripples Nigeria by Wilson Uwujaren, on Monday, stated that the suspects who are mainly students and job seekers between the ages of 18 to 31 years were apprehended after superior intelligence was received on their nefarious activities. Upon their arrest, six cars, various phones and laptops of different makes were recovered from them.

In a related development, Operatives of the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the Commission on Friday, 25th March, 2022 arrested twenty-nine (29) suspected internet fraudsters, at several hideouts in Nekede Road and Owerri Axis of Imo State with alleged incriminating items found on seventeen of the suspects.

They were all arrested based on intelligence reports linking them with alleged fraudulent activities ranging from love scam on numerous dating sites, impersonation, and possession of fraudulent documents, picker and bitcoin scam.

The suspects are Samuel Patrick, Brima Edegba, Kingsley Williams, Audu Emeka, David Godson, Alex James, Prince Akachukwu Nkemjika, Chidi Eze, Kizito Emenyonu, Wisdom Handsome Chibuenyim, Chibuike Mbonu, Christian Sorochi, Victory Oparanozie, Uche Alex, Kingsley Eke, Collins Williams and Charles Iwu.

Items recovered from them at the point of arrest, include foreign currencies, Toyota Avalon, 2 Toyota Camry, Toyota Corolla 2004 Model, Lexus ES 350, Mercedes ML 350, Lexus RS 350, and Toyota Venza. Others are fifty-eight phones (58) of different brands, eight laptops, one driver’s licence and six ATM Cards.

Iwujaren added that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

I only date yahoo boys, you can’t pay my bills – Lady tells man

A man identified as Atoyebi Taofiq Olajide, has shared a dating experience in 2021 which left a sour taste in his mouth.

He said it all started when he was introduced to a young beautiful lady whose physique he really like. He showed interest in knowing more about her.

During their date, they visited different beautiful places and he bought all kinds of food as they had fun like lovers.

Atoyebi revealed that in one of their conversations, the lady asked him about his opinion on yahoo boys (internet fraudsters) and in response, he said they are criminals.

After their date, the lady told him their relationship can never be as he cannot handle her bills as yahoo boys would.

The man thought the lady was only playing pranks until she blocked him. Months after, Atoyebi was informed that the lady was murdered by her boyfriend.

He shared; ”This beautiful lady. Tall, Lanky and caramel skinned was introduced to me mid last year by one of my friends. I loved what I saw and I wanted to know more about her.

We went on a date and it was so fun filled. We visited 3 different places that day. From Magic Land to Shoprite, we were doing like love birds. We ate different stuffs, things I have never tasted in my life.

During our conversation, she asked what’s my view on Yahoo guys, I told her they are criminals.

Later that night, she told me we can’t work because I can’t handle her bills. She said she only date yahoo boys. I thought she was joking until she blocked me.

The gist is, her friend told me she was killed last week by her boyfriend and her breast was removed.

I don’t even know how I am feeling right now.”

EFCC arrests alleged fraudsters at ‘Yahoo Boys Awards’ in Ogun

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Lagos State Command, have arrested 60 suspected internet fraudsters during an awards ceremony at the Conference Hotel in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

EFCC Spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday.

The anti-graft agency said the suspects were arrested at an event, tagged: “Peer Youths Awards”, which was allegedly organised to reward high-level internet fraudsters.

Items recovered from the suspects at the point of arrest include: exotic cars, electronic devices, laptop computers and mobile phones.

According to Uwujaren, the suspects will soon be charged to court.

Man impersonates EFCC, defrauds ‘Yahoo boys’ of N38 million

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested one Ladeji Kelvin Babatunde for obtaining money under false pretense.

He is reported to have allegedly obtained over N38 million from suspected internet fraudsters commonly known as Yahoo boys, while posing as an EFCC operative.

Babatunde had boasted that he would prevent their arrest by the commission.

An EFCC statement on Facebook reads; “A four-bedroom uncompleted apartment located at Ikola Road, Alagbado, Lagos, which was developed with the proceeds of the fraud, was recovered from him”.

Babatunde will be charged to court after the completion of investigation.
