You can’t succeed outside your educational qualification – President Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said nobody can succeed outside their educational qualification, hence Nigerians are aware of the priority of education.

Speaking on Thursday during a panel session at the global education summit, in London, United Kingdom, the president said his administration is committed to raising the budget for education by 50 per cent in the next two years, adding that Nigeria will attain 100 per cent budgetary increase by 2025.

He said no Nigerian parent jokes with education, as they are aware that if their children missed the opportunity of being educated, they have missed a lot.

Buhari noted that the population of the country is a challenge for any administration; but despite this, the government and people have realised that education is the starting point for success.

He said; “You can’t succeed outside your educational qualification. Anybody who missed education has missed everything. Nigerians are acutely aware of the priority of education, and parents are making sacrifices to ensure that their children and wards get educated”.

On the panel with Buhari were Presidents Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana, Faure Gnassingbe of Togo, Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya and Lazarus Chakwera of Malawi.

Legendary Nollywood actor, Kanayo O Kanayo, has stated that anyone who wishes to succeed in life would need to make some sort of ”sacrifice”

He said this after Alex Ekubo was heard throwing shades and referring to him ”Nnaayi Sacrifice” – which means the father of sacrifice.

In his response, Kanayo who spoke in Igbo language, agreed and noted that without sacrifice, you are going nowhere in life.

He said (translated in English); ”Do you know that with the way you’re calling me father of sacrifice…Without sacrifice you are not going anywhere”

Never boast about your plans to others if you wish to succeed in life – Omokri

Nigerian author and socio-political critic, Reno Omokri has taken to social media to dish some words of advice on the need to be discreet especially when making life-changing plans.

According to the former presidential aide, the chance of failing at such plans may drastically increase when too many details are spilled to outsiders.

He stated this in a post on his Instagram page, while recounting how Angel Gabriel appeared to Zachariah ahead of Jon the Baptist’s birth.

In his words; “Never boast about your plans to others if you want your plans to materialise. While a fetus is in its mother’s womb, it can still be aborted or miscarried. That is why mothers wait for their babies to be born before they give them names. Do the same thing with your plans. Stop having the naming ceremony before the plan is birthed. Be like Zechariah.

Angel Gabriel told Zechariah the name of his son, then sealed Zechariah’s mouth until John the Baptist was born. It is not everything God has told you, or every idea or inspiration you get that you blab about.

Seal your mouth until it has come to pass or it may not come to pass. Or worse, those you tell may sell you into bondage, like Joseph’s brothers.”
