The owner of abandoned SUV resurface after police alarm

The owner of the Mercedes Benz SUV found by the police under Otedola bridge on Monday night, December 5, has recovered his car.

Recall that the Rapid Response Squad arm of the Lagos State Police Command had issued a statement announcing the discovery of an abandoned car under Otedola bridge.

According to the RRS, the engine of the vehicle was running, with the driver’s door open and valuables left inside the car.

In an update given, the RRS says the owner revealed that he abandoned his car because he was attacked by traffic robbers at the location after he stopped to check his tyre since he noticed it was shaking.

The statement by the police reads;

“The owner of the recovered SUV, 4Matic GL 450 with the registration number KUJ 384 LY under Otedola Bridge yesterday showed up two hours ago.

He said he abandoned the vehicle when he was attacked by traffic robbers after a stop to check his shaking rear tyre.

All confirmations done and vehicle along with valuables have been handed over to him while CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi has directed RRS Decoy Team to arrest those involved in the attack.”

Police recover SUV with engine running under Otedola Bridge

Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Lagos State Police Command have recovered an SUV, 4matic GL 450 under Otedola bridge.

According to the statement on the RRS Facebook page, the car with the registration number KUJ 384 LY, was recovered by the officials on patrol at about 10:00 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2022.

“The car’s engine was running and driver’s side door opened with no occupant. In the car were travelling bags and laptop,” the statement read.

“The Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi has directed the decoy team to commence preliminary investigation immediately.

“Whoever has information about the owner of the vehicle should kindly contact RRS HQ, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja.”

Man breaks his leg after jumping off Otedola bridge while running from robbers who wanted to snatch his phone

A man has reportedly been hospitalized after breaking a leg while running from robbers who wanted to steal his phone.

Twitter user, @olabodeEO who shared the story said the man was running from armed robbers who wanted to snatch his phone from him when he jumped off the popular Otedola bridge.

The man broke his leg and was rushed to the hospital where he has been asked to pay a N1.2 million for his medical attention.
