I did not rape nobody. I’m happy I went to prison – Actor Moses Armstrong

Nollywood actor, Moses Armstrong, has denied the rape charges recently leveled against him.

Armstrong, a former aide to Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa HeIbom state, was arrested last month for allegedly raping a minor he adopted.

He was charged with rape, intimidation, conspiracy and supplying of drugs or instruments to procure abortion.

He was sent to prison, however on August 11, a High court in the state granted him bail.

His friends came out enmass to receive him as he was released from prison after perfecting his bail condition. They also took to social media to celebrate his release.

In a post shared on his Facebook page yesterday August 16, Armstrong stated that he isn’t a rapist and that his experience in prison was awesome as God went with him

Nollywood actor, Moses Armstrong, has been charged with rape, intimidation, conspiracy and supplying of drugs or instruments to procure abortion.

Armstrong, a former aide to Governor Udom Emmanuel, was arrested last month for allegedly raping a minor he adopted.

The four charges were read to Armstrong in a State High Court sitting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom on Wednesday, August 10, Premium Times reports.

He reportedly pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted bail. His counsel Emmanuel Pantaleon drew the court’s attention to his bail application filed on behalf of his client on July 25 and sought the leave of the court to proceed to entertain it.

The prosecution, I.U. Robert, an assistant state counsel, while opposing bail application, cited relevant judicial authorities and urged the court to dismiss the application which he described as an “abuse of court process.”

The Judge, Ntong Ntong, after hearing submissions from both counsels upheld the defense counsel application and granted bail to Mr Armstrong in the sum of N5 million.

JUST IN: DSS reportedly arrests Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu

The Department of State Services (DSS) has reportedly arrested the Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu, in Onitsha, Anambra State.

The actor was arrested by the Nigerian Army on Thursday for allegedly canvassing support for the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Chiwetalu was picked up by the secret police few hours after he was released by the army.

A Nigerian writer, Chiagozie Fred Nwonwu, who writes under the pseudonym Mazi Nwonwu, disclosed this on his Facebook page.

He said Agu is presently in the DSS custody.

He wrote: “Chiwetalu Agu is still not free. He is with DSS now. Colleagues say they are looking for a top lawyer to bail him.”

Nollywood actor, Yemi Solade accused of sending nudes to upcoming actors and requesting sex in exchange for roles

Veteran Nigerian actor Yemi Solade has been accused of sending nude photos to upcoming movie stars and requesting sex in exchange for roles.

This was made known by IG blogger Gistlovers following Yemi’s comment on the Twitter ban by the Federal Government.

We reported earlier that in an interview with Goldmyne TV, the veteran actor Yemi Solade applauded the Buhari led government for their decision adding that Twitter went too far by insulting the President and, by extension, Nigerians.

Gistlovers berated the actor for talking confidently about the Twitter ban when he’s currently involved in several inappropriate behaviour in the entertainment industry.

The blogger wrote: ”Who Dey give Yemi mic??Yemi wey be agbaya,Na him prick useless pass for nollywood yeyebrity,he keeps sending nudes to all these upcoming,asking for sex in exchange of roles,Then same agbaya is out there talking confidently about Twitter ban, who send you message? Come near me Yemi, I go comot ya teeth just now, if you vex me too much I go post that your prick wey you dey send for everybody inside dm, Ofo ni president ma shey, E be like say head dey pepper you Yemi I come in peace.”

Reacting, some Instagram users confirm the blogger’s words, saying Yemi Solade is always in the habit of bombing ladies social media pages and requesting their numbers.

Nollywood actor, Daniel K Daniel welcomes a baby boy

Award-winning Nigerian actor, Daniel K Daniel and his wife, Tina, have welcomed their second child in the United States.

A friend of the couple took to Instagram to share the good news of the birth of their son and congratulated them on the arrival of their bundle of joy.

She shared a photo of Daniel’s wife and their new born baby in the hospital and wrote;

The Don is Here !!!! Thank you Lord. Congratulations Dee and Tee, welcome baby Don.

Popular Nigerian Actor, Alexx Ekubo, is no longer a member of the eligible bachelors of Nollywood club as he is finally set to walk down the aisle with his heartthrob.

40% of Nigerian lawmakers, over 12 governors are homosexuals —Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu

Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu, who recently came out to declare that he is ‘gay and proud,’ has called on the President of the United States, Joe Biden, to place “sanctions on the Nigerian government over the 2014 anti-gay law,” as over 40 percent of lawmakers in the country as well as over 12 state governors are homosexuals.

Maduagwu who posted on his Instagram account on Saturday, said:

“Dear President Joe Biden, I am proudly gay, and I beg you to place sanctions on Nigerian government for its inhuman laws against law-abiding homosexuals.”

He also spoke about the menace of criminal herdsmen, saying they are being pampered by the government while gay people are being hounded and stigmatized.

“This same government pampers wicked Fulani herdsmen who kidnap and cause trouble in the southern part of Nigeria.

“We are tired and scared despite the fact that more than 40 percent of current legislatures and over twelve governors are homosexuals in Naija (Nigeria); why the hypocrisy?”

On Thursday, the thespian had also taken to his Instagram handle to state that he was gay and proud to be one.

He called on Nigerians and the Nigerian government to allow people make certain decisions about their lives.

In the post with his picture, Maduagwu said he decided to come out openly as he was tired of living in denial.

He also said people should respect the choices others make about their lives.

“Appreciate others and #share only love, we need to respect peoples choices not to judge them, so lets practice Jesus kind of love, ”

Another Nollywood Legend Is Dead

Nollywood Legend, Desmond Asuzu is dead, according to reports in Vangaurd.

The online newspaper was informed that he slumped and died around 9pm on Tuesday. His wife was said to have called fellow actor Desmond Elliot to announce the death to him.

Azuzu who suffered stroke sometime ago was practically begging shoppers money to eat at some point in his life. When the news surfaced online, some colleagues in the industry including the Governor of Anambra State, Dr Ebelechukwu Obiano rallied round to support him.

Asuzu began his acting career in the ’90s and rose to prominence after he starred in the 1997 Nollywood classic, ‘Rituals’ He was the toast of Nollywood until his career nosedived after he came down with a stroke in 2015 and it affected his speech. He was also bedridden for three years.

Nollywood has been thrown into mourning following the death of veteran actor Ernest Asuzu.

Asuzu who grew into fame as with his several bad boy characters died on Tuesday, January, 26, 2021.

His wife Jennifer confirmed the death and revealed that the actor slumped and never woke up.

He is survived by his wife and two children. Before his death, the actor battled stroke amidst personal problems that kept him out of the limelight.
