Tinubu hale, hearty, aide dispels reports of APC leader’s hospitalisation

With speculations rife about the health of Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) a disclaimer has been issued by his aide to dispel the reports.

According to some media reports, Tinubu had been hospitalised in the United States where he underwent some surgeries due to his health.

However, a statement issued on Saturday by Tunde Rahman, Media Adviser to Tinubu noted that the APC leader “is hale and hearty. He is not in any hospital. He has no medical problem that would require hospitalization. Yes, he is out of the country at the moment. He will be back shortly.”

Rahman further berated “some mischievous people” who always attribute Tinubu’s foreign trips to ill-health.

Anytime he travels out of the country, the next thing some mischievous people would say is he is sick, hospitalized or has died.

“It is shameful that perpetrators of this evil are not deterred by the fact that each time this fake news has been propagated, they have been proven wrong.

“Who really is afraid of Asiwaju Tinubu? Those wishing Asiwaju Tinubu evil or dead should be careful. They should know the matter of life and death is in the hand of only God Almighty”, he stated.

ISIS ordered us to kill Boko Haram’s leader – ISWAP confirms Shekau’s death

The Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) has confirmed the death of former Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau.

ISWAP confirmed that Shekau blew himself up after refusing to surrender following the invasion of his hideout on May 19, 2021, Daily Post reports.

This was contained in a message from Abu Mus’ab Habeeb Bin Muhammad Bin Yusuf al-Barnawi, born Habib Yusuf, leader of the terrorists.

According to HumAngle, al-Barnawi, in an address on Friday, described Shekau as “the leader of disobedience and corruption.”

He said Shekau’s fighters rejoiced over his death, adding that the former terrorist leader, who took over after the death of Boko Haram founder, Mohammed Yusuf in 2009, was apprehended “in the most humiliating manner.”

Speaking in Hausa, al-Barnawi said: “This was someone who committed unimaginable terrorism. How many has he wasted? How many has he killed? How many has he terrorised? But Allah left him alone and prolonged his life. When it was time, Allah set out brave soldiers after receiving orders from Amirul Muminin [leader of the believers].”

ISWAP, which broke away from Shekau’s Boko Haram faction in 2016, disagreed with the late extremist leader over his excessive use of force, especially on Muslims in areas under his influence.

He stated that the interim leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) ordered them to take action on Shekau for deviating and killing “believers.”

ISWAP fighters then took their arms, travelled through the Sahara, went into Shekau’s enclave, and engaged in a gun battle with his followers.

“Shekau preferred to be humiliated in the afterlife than getting humiliated on earth. He killed himself instantly by detonating an explosive,” he said.

Sanusi emerges as new leader of Tijanniyah sect in Nigeria

Deposed Emir of Kano, Mallam Muhammad Sanusi II, has been pronounced as the new leader of the Tijjaniyya Sufi order in Nigeria.

The appointment was announced at the annual event marking the birthday of the sect’s leader, Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass, held in Sokoto State, on Saturday, March 13.

Since the death of Sheikh Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu in 2018, the sect has not appointed any leader.

Emir of Kano Muhammad Sanusi I, Sanusi’s late grandfather, was a leader of the sect at some point.

The governors of Sokoto and Zamfara states, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and Bello Matawalle, and a prominent leader of the sect, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, were among the invited dignitaries.

Adherents of Tijjianiyya who were in their thousands offered special prayers for peace, unity and stability in the country.

The prayer session was led by Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi and leader of Majma’u Ahbab Rasul Li Shehu Nyass, Alhaji Dahiru Abubakar.
