Gov Sule rejects predictions on APC break-up after Buhari’s exit from power

The Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, on Sunday rejected predictions on the break-up of the All Progressives Congress (APC) after the expiration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure in 2023.

Sule, who featured in a Channels Television’s programme, Sunday Politics, also slammed critics who predicted Nigeria’s break-up in 2015.

He assured Nigerians that the APC would present a competent candidate in the 2023 presidential election.

The governor said: “The same people who have told us that by 2015 Nigeria will break up and there will be no Nigeria, we still have Nigeria. So the same people are predicting the APC disintegration.

“There are people who just believe in this kind of prophecies. I don’t believe our party will go into pieces. Yes, the absence of Muhammadu Buhari on the ticket is a major thing for us, that is the reason we have to look and make sure that we have a presidential candidate that is acceptable to all, including Muhammadu Buhari himself.”

He stressed that the APC would have no problem winning the elections with generally acceptable candidates in place at all levels.

No alternative to Gov Sule in 2023 – Nasarawa speaker

The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, said on Saturday there is no alternative to Governor Abdullahi Sule and All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state in 2023.

Abdullahi stated this when he hosted individuals and groups that paid him Sallah homage at his Umaisha county home in Toto local government area of the state.

He described Governor Sule as a leader with great passion and zeal for peace, unity, and speedy growth of the state, hence the need for all to rally around him to succeed beyond 2023.

The speaker said: “The handwriting is very clear on the wall, as far as I am concerned in Nasarawa State we have no any other candidate to file in 2023 apart from Governor Sule.

With the antecedence of Governor Sule, especially some of us that are working closely with him know very well that his project, his dream, his thinking day and night is all about Nasarawa State.

“So, what else do we want than to give him all the necessary support to succeed and transform our beloved state because if God spares our lives and by his grace, A.A. Sule will serve for eight years.”

Abdullahi stressed that peace was priceless and the first instrument of development, hence the need for the people of the state to give the governor all the needed support to enable him to succeed.

His peace and developmental efforts are encouraging more investors to the state to boost socio-economic activities,” he added.

Gov Sule says terrorists regrouping in Nasarawa, runs to Buhari for help

The Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to come to the rescue of Nasarawa State from terrorist attacks.

Sule met with Buhari on Friday, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja over the insecurity in his state.

After the meeting which they held behind closed doors, Sule told State House correspondents his state had been facing attacks by a group of terrorists that had earlier been dislodged.

He said the dislodged insurgents recently regrouped at the Nasarawa/Benue border and had continued to launch attacks on Nasarawa residents from there.

According to the governor, some of the apprehended terrorists, revealed that they belong to Boko Haram group, Darussalam, who were earlier dislodged from Niger State.

Governor Sule said having spoken to President Buhari about the situation, he had a firm belief urgent action would be taken against the terrorists.
