Funke Akindele deletes all politics-related posts on her Instagram page

Actress Funke Akindele who was the running mate of PDP governorship candidate in Lagos state, Abdulazeez Adediran, has deleted all posts relating to politics and the PDP on her Instagram page.

All photos from her campaign rallies as well as other political engagements during the electioneering process are not present.

The PDP lost to the incumbent governor and APC candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in the Saturday, March 18 election.

Actress, Funke Akindele blesses her plumber with new pair of shoes

Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele-Bello showed concern for her plumber’s clothing accessories and decided to rebrand him by getting new pair of shoes for him.

In a video she shared on her Snapchat account, the plumber rocked a worn out shoe to her place and was giving her updates.

Funke Akindele was however more stunned by his shoe as she kept zooming in while he was talking.

Actress, Toyin Abraham, dismisses alleged feud with colleague, Funke Akindele

Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham has shrugged off allegations that there is a rift between herself and her colleague, Funke Akindele.

In a recent radio chat, Abraham revealed that she has a cordial work relationship with Funke Akindele. She stated that they do not have to be friends because they work in the same industry.

Abraham‘s statement is coming after another of her colleagues, Iyabo Ojo alleged a couple of weeks ago that Funke Akindele paid bloggers to publish negative reviews about Abraham’s movie, The Ghost and The Tout Too.

Abraham has come out to clear the air. Speaking, the mother of one had this to say;

“She is my senior colleague and she is someone I respect a lot; so, I do not know what people are talking about, trust me.

She is one of the few people I look up to.

“Sometimes, people do not understand that we are colleagues and not family. So, you cannot be talking to all your colleagues.

“We talk, we follow each other.”

Abraham went on to state that it is pivotal for her fans and followers to disregard derogatory comments that often surface on social media.

She continued;

“If I see her, I will kneel down and say, ‘Aunty Funke se wa okay?’.

A lot of people do not understand that we are working in the same space; we do not have to be close friends.
When we see ourselves we greet each other.
Forget social media, trust me.”

Funke Akindele beats Toyin Abraham, Mercy Aigbe on 2021 Instagram Rich List

Award-winning Nigerian actress, Funke Akindele has topped her colleagues, Toyin Abraham, Mercy Aigbe and others to rank 70th on the 2021 Instagram Rich List as one of the highest-paid Nigerians on the platform.

According to Hopper HQ, Akindele’s Instagram account, which has over 13 million followers, has a cost per post worth N34,408,088.

Other Nigerians on the list include singers, Yemi Alade, 67th (N36,260,198.00) (N34,408,088.00); Tiwa Savage, 74th (N32,350,188.00) and Wizkid, 79th (N31,691,660.00).

Meanwhile, Davido ranked 53rd, the highest Nigerian with 20,408,979 followers and cost per post worth $128,300 (N52,805,714.00).

Juventus player Cristiano Ronaldo is topping the list, with 295,984,958 followers and a cost per post worth $1,604,000.

The Guardian reports that the Portuguese can command $1.6m (£1.2m) to endorse social media products.

Popular Nigerian actress, Funke Akindele has declared support for Big Brother Naija housemate, White Money following his nomination for possible eviction.

White Money was on Monday, named among the five housemates who risk being evicted this coming Sunday. He was nominated alongside Beatrice, Yousef, Yerins and Niyi.

Funke, took to her official Instagram page to rally support for White, saying that he is real.

She then called on people to vote for him through the normal voting mediums.

”Boyfriend snatcher” – Funke Akindele drags BBNaija’s Bisola

Ace Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele aka Jenifa, has dragged Big Brother Naija star, Bisola Aiyeola, referring to her as a ‘boyfriend snatcher.’

In a recent post on her Instagram page, she called out Bisola and labelled her a boyfriend snatcher. Although she did not disclose the reason for doing so, but it appeared to be a joke.

Sharing a photo of them together, Funke wrote;

”This one na boyfriend snatcher!!  ???Tag her if your recognize her !

‘Omo Ghetto’ is officially the highest grossing Nollywood movie of all time.

The 2020 comedy film has broken a four-year record formally held by Kemi Adetiba’s ‘The Wedding Party’.

Funke Akindele and JJC Skillz’ ‘Omo Ghetto (The Saga)’ is now Nollywood’s highest grossing movie of all time.

According to Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN), the 2020 comedy film has so far grossed N468,036,300 after holding the number one spot for its third week in a row.

‘Omo Ghetto’ has officially broken a four year record by knocking off Kemi Adetiba’s 2016 comedy, ‘The Wedding Party’. The movie has been Nollywood highest grossing movie with N453,000,000. In the third place is ‘The Wedding Party 2’ with N433,197,377.

The Bellos’ latest feat is probably the most shocking news in recent times as it comes amid a pandemic that crippled the film industry for months.

Released on Christmas day 2020, the movie which is a sequel to 2010 trilogy ‘Omo Ghetto’, follows the chaotic life of Shalewa aka Lefty (Funke Akindele). Lefty struggles between living a life of wealth and comfort provided by her adopted mother or returning to her ghetto lifestyle.

The comedy stars Akindele in the dual role of Ayomide and Lefty, Tina Mba, Adebayo Salami aka Oga Bello, Chioma Akpotha, Bimbo Thomas, Eniola Badmus, Deyemi Okanlawon, Zubby Michael, Mercy Aigbe, Timini Egbuson, Alex Ekubo among others.
