Reactions As NYSC Member Reportedly Killed A Man In Uyo

A report just rocked the social Media this evening about a NYSC Member who just truncated the life of a Young Man in Uyo, the capital city of Akwa-Ibom.

The young serving Corper whose name has been recognized as Odume Princess Paschaline was caught after she killed a Young Man in cold blood in Uyo. According to the person who posted the news on Twitter, @CheifPharmacst said the lady has now been apprehended and taken to the police station in Uyo city.

According to what the posted said on Twitter, Princess Paschaline killed the man with a machete because the deceased person threatened her with the same object. The man said the lady was forced to take the action after the man was fast as sleep at night, because the lady was in the man’s house trading her body for money.

However, Princess Paschaline who is also a serving Corper has now been arrested and taken to the Police Headquarter in the state. Presently, people are looking for the family of the lady, just to let them know what had happened.

Woman Ridding Motorbike Dies In Fatal Accident

A woman has died after a motorbike she was riding crashed.

The accident occurred last night at Gab filling station at Gwollu in Sissala West District of the Upper West Region.

The deceased yet to be identified was ridding Aloba Motorbike with registration number M-15-AS 614.

Her body has since been deposited at the Gwollu District Hospital morgue for preservation and identification.

The cause of the accident is yet to be established.

The House On The Rock Pastor That Died Of COVID-19

Death has been announced of Nigerian Pastor and well respected preacher, Pastor Adeyinka Akinbami.

Pastor Adeyinka Akinbami is a Pastor with the House on the Rock Church which is founded by popular Man of God,Pastor Paul Adefarasin. 

Pastor Adeyinka Akinbami reportedly died of the dreaded Coronavirus otherwise known as COVID-19 and died at the age of 61.

The dreaded Coronavirus otherwise known as COVID-19 which started in Wuhan, China has since spread to many countries of the world killing some of the infected patients and paralysing the economy of many nations.Nigeria,like many other nations is currently experiencing the second wave of the pandemic. 

Announcing his passing on Twitter yesterday, Senior Pastor and General Overseer, House On The Rock Church, Paul Adefarasin, said he had yet to come to terms with Akinbami’s death.He however called on Nigerians to follow the preventive measures to contain the spread of the ravaging virus. 

The deceased is survived by his beautiful wife,Tolu Akinbami and lovely children. 3 months ago,his beautiful wife wished him happy birthday on her facebook account. 

May the soul of the deceased rest in perfect peace and may God grant the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss. 

Lady who left home on the 25th found dead, as her boyfriend (a pastor) was arrested as prime suspect

According to a news that was posted by Daily Trust newspaper yesterday night, it has been alleged that a 20 year old lady, who left home on the 25th of December, 2020 has been found dead In Ahoada, Ahoada Local Government Area of Rivers State, after several days searching for her.

It was alleged that on the 25th of December before Beauty Ngegbarane left home, she told her family members that she was visiting her boyfriend, a pastor whose name was given as Pastor Sodje Masodje of Angels International Ministry, and since then, she didn’t return back home.

However the second day, the same pastor called her family members to ask after their daughter, as he alleged that he had been expecting her to visit him on the 25th but, he hasn’t seen her since then.

After days of searching, the body of the final year student of Rivers State University, Department of Education, was found dead inside a mortuary she was taken to on the 26th of December, as it was alleged that she had a terrible motor accident..

While the deceased’s elder sister, Victoria Ngegbarane was talking, she made it known that her boyfriend is the prime suspect because, he gave her money on two occasions to abort her pregnancy for him, as they have dated for several years before her death.

Buhari mourns over death of two leading members of Zazzau Emirate.

The sudden deaths of two leading members of the Zazzau Emirate has gotten the attention of President Buhari – The presidency disclosed that Buhari is unhappy over the tragedy , Buhari has sent a condolence message to the Kaduna people over the occurrence.

President Muhammadu Buhari has described the deaths of two leading members of the Zazzau Emirate in Kaduna state as a double tragedy. The president in a message on Friday, January 1, said the death of the Iyan Zazzau, Alhaji Bashir Aminu and Talban Zazzau, Abubakar Pate came to him as a shock.The Guardian reported.

President Buhari said the recent deaths of the Zazzau Emirate is sad. According to a statement issued by a presidential aide, Garba Shehu, Buhari expressed sadness over the tragedy and condoled the families of the departed prices. He said: ”The death of such two prominent figures in Zazzau Emirate comes to me as a rude shock not long after the death of former Emir Shehu Idris.

Youths burn market over strange deaths

IRATE youths of Ute-Okpu, Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State, on Tuesday took to the streets to protest rising deaths of youths in the area.

It was learnt the youths got angry after four of them died.

The protesters reportedly burnt the market, but were unable to raze the monarch’s palace as they were stopped by a team of soldiers and policemen.

About 34 persons have died mysteriously in the last three weeks.

A resident, Roland Chuks Agbontai, who lost his 22-year-old son, is convinced that the strange deaths have not abated because the communal deities, Agba-Egbo and Akpu, have not been properly appeased.

He said after the youths consulted the oracle, they were told to appease both deities. But while Agba-Egbo was appeased, Akpu’s shrine was left desolate after a church uprooted the deity, he added.

But Commissioner for Health Dr Ononye Mordi attributed the deaths to yellow fever.

Police spokesman Onome Onowakpoyeya confirmed the incident.

Renaissance University Enugu gives details on death 400 L student

The Renaissance University, Ugbawka, Enugu State, has provided details on the death of a 400-level student of the institution.

DAILY POST learnt that the undergraduate passed on at a private hospital after a brief illness.

However, his death has generated several reports and claims.

The University has now come out to provide information on the deceased and the efforts made earlier to save his life.

This was contained in a statement issued by the University Registrar, Mr. Adedeji Olusola Adebayo, who also called for caution in honour of the deceased.

His statement read, “On 3rd November 2020, Obinna Emmanuel Anorue, a 400 level student of History, reported at the university clinic late in the evening. He complained of fever and headache. He was transported to the clinic of our nearby affiliate institution, Mea Mater Elizabeth High School, where he was examined by the doctor and medications administered to stabilize him. He said he was okay, ate his dinner and was taken back to the university.

“Two days later (5th November),he came back to the clinic complaining of the same fever and headache, and on examination had tender epigastrium (upper part of the abdomen). He was also found not to be compliant with his medications. He was encouraged to adhere to his medications with antacids added.

“The next day when he was said to still be febrile and not adhering to the drug regimen, the doctor referred him to the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), despite his insistence that he was doing good.

“But while on transit, he was reportedly diverted to the 82 Division Military Hospital. He subsequently reportedly passed in a private hospital in the early hours of yesterday.

“This is a moment of immense grief and sadness for the entire university community. Management is deeply pained by his tragic loss. Our hearts go out to Obinna’s family for the devastating heartbreak they are experiencing.

“We know the terrible news is difficult to process and affects members of our university community particularly his fellow students and friends. However, we urge for responsibility in the accounts dished out to the public in order not to dishonor his memory and aggravate the grief of his family and loved ones.

“The university is in touch with the family and is open to any inquiry that will establish what may have happened.”

Three suspected kidnappers burnt to death in Cross River

Three suspected kidnappers have been burnt to death in Ikot Effio Okon Etim in Akpabuyo local government area of Cross River State.

Although details of the incident were still being expected, DAILY POST gathered that the incident which saw the suspects burned to death occurred on Saturday morning.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Irene Ugbo in a Press Release titled Jungle Justice and it’s implications condemned the action of members of the public.

The statement stated, “The attention of the Commissioner of Police, Cross River State Command, has been drawn to the incessant mob action meted on criminal element across the state.

“It’s on the above, the Commissioner wishes to state unequivocally that no single person or group of persons has the right to maim or take the life of another person irrespective of the offence committed” the statement added.

He advised residents against the infraction of the extant laws, which negates citizens right and contravenes the constitutional provision of the federal republic of Nigeria

“Consequently, the ugly incident which occurred early hours of Saturday, 17th October at Akpabuyo local government area where three suspected criminals were allegedly set ablaze is barbaric and strongly condemned.

“By this announcement, the Command warns members of the public to always weigh their actions in line with laws of the land. He added that perpetrators, when apprehended, will face the law” the DSP Ugbo stated.
