Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Burna Boy has reacted to the comment by American Hip Hop act, Bia that she doesn’t know what he looks like.

Recall that Bia recently claimed she doesn’t know who Nigerian singers, Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido are.

It happened during a live session with rap queen, Nicki Minaj on Instagram. Nicki who was the host had named the trio as International super acts for Bia to choose from and much to the surprise of many, including Nicki herself, Bia claimed that she knows neither of the three superstars.

Reacting to her claim, Burna Boy took to his Twitter page to write;

That babe wey nor know our face don dey my dms since 2018 o”

The self-acclaimed African Giant also went on to tweet about the successes he’s recorded since that year.

”I’ve sold out every venue I’ve ever been booked for since 2018. Most of them 2 or three nights back to back. This next chapter of my Life as a performer is something I really look forward to.

I’m in only ARENAS, STADIUMS and FESTIVALS worldwide. DREAMS come TRUE for REAL”, he wrote.

Burna Boy gets a lovely 30th birthday surprise from family in Miami (Video)

Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu popularly known as Burna Boy, turned 30 today, June 2, and family members decided to organise a special bash for him.

To celebrate his 30th birthday, the Grammy-winner was treated to a lovely birthday surprise by his family and friends in Miami, U.S.

The self-acclaimed African Giant shared a video on his Insta-story of the heartwarming moment he came upon the surprise.

In the videos he shared, the singer walked into a room and immediately saw the balloons and light decorations on number plaques showing his age in front of him.

Voices in the background were heard singing the popular birthday song to him and also cheering him on.

Burna Boy performs Fela’s song at his grandfather’s 85th birthday (Video)

Grammy award winner, Burna Boy recently rendered an electric performance at his grandfather, the legendary Benson Idonije’s birthday.

The ”Dangote” crooner’s granddad clocked 85 on Sunday, June 13, 2021 and the singer decided to celebrate it with a nostalgic performance for him.

In a video from the event which has gone viral on social media, Burna could be seen singing Fela’s classic, ‘Lady’.

Benson Idonije is a veteran in the Nigerian entertainment space and once managed Afrobeats pioneer, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

Burna Boy gives Patoranking N1 million cash as birthday gift (Video)

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini ‘Burna Boy’ Ogulu, has gifted his friend and colleague, Patoranking the sum of N1 million in celebration of his birthday.

The ”Suh Different” hitmaker clocked 31 on May 27, 2021 and fans celebrated him on social media.

Patoranking’s daughter also showed love to her father by singing a birthday song to on the occasion of him turning a new age.

Interestingly, in a new video making rounds online, Burna Boy could be seen gifting Patoranking 1 million naira cash as birthday gift.

Both superstars were having fun in a club when the African Giant decided to hype up the moment.

Burna Boy becomes first African to have three albums hit 100 million streams on Spotify

Ace Nigerian singer, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu better known as Burna Boy, has secured yet another feat to add to the African Giant’s list of wins.

He has become the first African artiste to have three of his albums garner at least 100 million streams on Spotify.

Burna Boy’s latest milestone which was announced on Twitter by music aggregate monitoring page, Chart Data.

It listed Outside, African Giant and Twice as Tall as the albums which have individually gotten at least 100 million streams each on Spotify.

”.@burnaboy is the first African artist to have three albums with at least 100 million streams each on Spotify (African Giant, Outside & Twice As Tall),” Chart Data announced.

This development comes on the heels of Ye attaining Gold certification in the United States.

Don Jazzy shows appreciation to Burna Boy for supporting Blaqbonez

Ace Nigerian producer and musician, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has extended some words of thanks to Grammy award-winner, Burna Boy over his support for fast-rising rapper, Blaqbonez.

Blaqbonez recently surpassed Burna Boy to clinch the top spot on Apple Music with his song, Bling.

He had taken to Twitter to celebrate and thank the self-acclaimed African Giant but allowing him to have the number 1 song in the country.

Reacting, Don Jazzy revealed how proud he is of the rapper, and thanked Burna Boy for the support.

Recall that when Blaq released his debut album, the ”Dangote” crooner was among some top artistes that promoted it on social media.

Nigerian rap rave, Blaqbonez, real name Emeka Akumefule has pleaded with ace singer, David Adeleke aka Davido to promote his debut album, Sex Over Love.

The album which peaked at number 1 in Nigeria just within 24 hours of its release, has received massive positive reviews from fans and even top-rated musicians.

Nigerian superstar singers, Burna Boy and Wizkid, in appreciation of his craft, posted the album on Insta-story.

UFC Welterweight Champion, Kamaru Usman, might have taken his love for Nigerian singer, Burna Boy to a new level by leaking snippets of the Grammy award-winner’s unreleased song.

The Nigerian-born fighter in a post on social media, teased lovers of the self-acclaimed African Giant with snippets of the Burna’s banging jam.

This is coming days after he defeated Jorge Masvidal in Florida and secured the 18th career victory.

In the videos he posted on his Instagram story, Kamaru was seen grooving and vibing to Burna Boy’s dope track.

He also pointed out how the singer would be angry over his decision to leak the song, but insisted on doing it nevertheless.

“I no say my brother Burna go vex, but I must leak this new song. I go give una small, listen”, he said.

Grammy winners, Burna Boy, Wizkid make Forbes Africa Icons’ List

Grammy Award winners, Burna Boy and Wizkid were included in the prestigious Forbes ‘100 Icons from Africa.’

Other notable Nigerian celebrities such as Davido, Omotola Ekeinde, Genevieve Nnaji, Funke Akindele-Bello, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Mr Eazi, among other Nigerians made the list.

Also, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala featured on the list.

According to Forbes, the list was curated from Hollywood exports and Grammy artists to award-winning ideas that can save the world.

It also stated that the list is a way of “celebrating those whose ideas, inventions, and influential role models have aided Africa’s growth over the last decade.”

Forbes on its official Twitter handle, @Forbesafrica, alongside the list wrote; “This is a way of celebrating those also with the award-winning ideas that had defined the African continent and influential role models that have spelt Africa’s growth over the last decade.”

Forbes described Burna Boy in the publication as one of the biggest and most successful African artists on this continent.

While Genevieve was described as the trailblazer of Nollywood.

British rap artiste, Stefflon Don has deleted pictures of her Grammy award-winning Nigerian boyfriend, Burna Boy from her Instagram page.

Recently, there have reports of the ”Dangote” crooner cheating on Stefflon Don, his girlfriend of two year.

A lady had leaked what was alleged to be an after-s*x video and it showed Burna sleeping bare bodied as the side chic filmed him.

Although Stefflon Don initially appeared unbothered about the cheating reports, she has now deleted all photos of Burna.

A review of her page revealed that she has only one picture of her boyfriend, Burna Boy on her Instagram page.

Nigerian music producer and Mavin founder, Don Jazzy has shown in practicality what it means to support people in the industry.

The record label boss in a video shared on his Instagram page disclosed what he has observed as he urged netizens to support their own by following them on all social media platforms.

Reacting to his appeal, a fan said the celebrities in return don’t follow them back and that is what prevents some others from following them.

In response, Don Jazzy used himself as an example saying he is following Burna Boy, D’Banj (Bangalee) and Genevieve but they aren’t following him back and he’s not bothered because he only wants to show them he supports what they do for Nigeria.

Burna Boy’s Twice as Tall nominated for 2021 BRIT Awards

Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu professionally known as Burna Boy has bagged a nomination in the 2021 BRIT Awards.

The Grammy award winner’s album, Twice As Tall was nominated in the International Male Solo Artiste Category.

In the nominees list which was released on the March 31st 2021, Burna boy was placed alongside international acts like Bruce Springsteen, Childish Gambino, The Weeknd, and Tame Impala in the ‘International Male Solo Artist’ category.

The event has been scheduled to hold on the 11th of May 2021.

This is Burna’s third nomination for a BRIT Award after being nominated twice in the 2020 edition of the Awards ceremony.

Manchester United striker, Marcus Rashford has publicly declared his love for Nigerian afrobeat singer, Burna Boy.

According to the English player, the Grammy award winner is his favourite Afrobeat artiste among all others.

Rashford made this known in a question and answer session on Twitter as he opened his timeline to answering random questions.

A follower had asked him whether he listens to the Afrobeat, and what artiste is his favourite if he does fancy the genre.

Nigerians slam Burna Boy for accepting millions from Wike as they dig up old video of him criticising politicians for stealing (Watch)

Nigerians have taken to social media to criticise Grammy award winner, Burna Boy over what they term hypocrisy following his recent homecoming concert in Rivers state.

Recall that the Ye crooner was hosted over the weekend by Governor Nyesom Wike as he arrived the state for his homecoming.

Asides from the N100m he reportedly charged the Rivers government for the concert, Wike also gave him a piece of land and N10m to build on it.

This action has triggered Nigerians on social media as the self-acclaimed African Giant has been slammed from collecting money from a politician despite criticising Nigerian politicians.

Burna Boy receives grand reception in Port Harcourt ahead of his homecoming concert (Videos)

Grammy award-winner, Damini Ogulu also known as Burna Boy has touchdown Port Harcourt, Rivers state for his homecoming concert.

Recall that the media reported yesterday that he allegedly charged Rivers state government N100 million and a private jet to make an appearance at the concert.

He was received in grand style by many who trooped out to see the self-acclaimed African Giant.

The Port Harcourt born artiste, was welcomed to the city of his birth by important dignitaries and fans.

Burna Boy went in company of his mother, Mrs. Bose Ogudu, who was spotted with him as the crew was entertained with cultural performances amid shouts of ‘Odogwu’.

Nigerian Hip Hop artiste, Yung6ix, real name Onome Onokohwomo has made a case for music superstar, Burna Boy to receive a memorable in honour in light of him winning a Grammy Award.

Recall that Burna won his first-ever Grammy award for his album, ‘Twice as Tall’ on Sunday, March 14, 2021.

The ace singer emerged winner of the Best Global Music Album category, beating other nominees including Malian band Tinariwen and U.S. band Antibalas.

Speaking on how Burna made Nigeria proud by bringing home the award solely on the oars of his personal work, Yung6ix said he needs to be honoured in a memorable way.

Burna Boy reacts to Grammy win (video)

On Sunday, March 14, Nigerian recording artiste, Burna Boy clinched a Grammy award for the ‘Best Global Music Album’.
His album Twice as Tall won the award over records by Antibalas (FU Chronicles), Bebel Gilberto (Agora), Anoushka Shankar (Love Letters), and Tinariwen (Amadjar).

The announcement was made at the premiere of the 2021 edition of the Grammy Awards in Santa Monica.

The win marks Burna Boy’s first Grammy Award after being nominated in the same category a year prior. At the time, he lost to Angelique Kidjo.

Following his win, the Nigerian singer published a video where he appreciated his fanbase, The Outsiders for their massive success; Burna Boy also appreciated the contributing artistes who worked on the project, Twice As Tall.

He also addressed African youths in his speech, he admonished them to continue shining the light of Africa across the globe.

The elated singer said in a video on Instagram;

“This is a big win for my generation of Africans all over the world,” Burna said.

He continued;

“And this should be a lesson to every African out there.

No matter where you are, no matter what you plan to do; you can achieve it.

No matter where you’re from, because you’re a king.”

Burna Boy to perform at 2021 Grammys

Nigerian music star, Burna Boy, is scheduled to perform at the 63rd Grammy Awards ceremony.

The event will hold on March 14, 2021.

The artiste who bagged a World Music Album nomination alongside Antibalas, Bebel Gilberto, Anoushka Shankar, and Tinariwen, will perform during the Grammy Premiere event.

The Grammy Premiere which precedes the awards ceremony will be streamed live internationally.

The event will be hosted by an American singer and three-time Grammy nominee Jhené Aiko.

The special all-nominee ensemble performance will feature Afro-Peruvian Jazz Orchestra, Thana Alexa, John Beasley, Camilo, Regina Carter, Alexandre Desplat, Bebel Gilberto, Lupita Infante, Sarah Jarosz, and Mykal Kilgore.

Others are Ledisi, Mariachi Sol de Mexico de Jose Hernandez, PJ Morton, Gregory Porter, Grace Potter, säje, Gustavo Santaolalla (Bajofondo), Anoushka Shankar, and Kamasi Washington.
