I predicted Abba Kyari’s shameful end for killing innocent Biafrans’ —Ex-Radio Biafra Director, Ekpa

Disgraced former Director-General of Radio Biafra, Simon Ekpa, has claimed he had earlier predicted that embattled former head of the IGP- Intelligence Response Team (IRT) DCP Abba Kyari, would be disgraced for allegedly masterminding the killing of innocent Igbo people in the South-East.

Ekpa, a self-acclaimed disciple of detained leader of the separatist group, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, in a post on his Twitter handle on Wednesday, said he foresaw the shameful end of Kyari when he “was running riot and killing innocent Biafran youths,” and had warned him of the consequences if he did not desist from carrying out the alleged extra-judicial killings in the region.

Reacting to the arrest of Kyari on Monday by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), over reported links to an international drug cartel, Ekpa described the once touted ‘Super Cop’ as an “ordinary criminal who would not go free because of the blood of innocent Biafrans he had killed.”

“I called Abba Kyari a criminal even before the indictment in the US. I told him that for killing Biafrans, he will be disgraced and his career will end in Biafraland.

“Today is he not known globally as a criminal? The big question is, what happened to all the innocent Biafrans he killed?” Ekpa who is based in Finland and now leading a dissident group called ‘Biafran Autopilot’ wrote.

Asari Dokubo recruiting Ijaw youths, cultists, to fight against Biafra, IPOB alleges

The Proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has accused former Niger Delta militant leader, Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, of recruiting misguided Ijaw youths, cultists and some Niger Delta militants to fight against the actualization of Biafra.

In a statement issued by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful on Monday evening, the Igbo separatist group said Dokubo and some politicians who were againsts the group were “colluding with the Fulani security forces, the Presidency, evil politicians, including some governors in the South East region, to cause chaos and anarchy in Biafraland.”

IPOB also warned that the move by Dokubo and his co-conspirators “will be smoked out from his abode in Cotonou, Benin Republic, where he has been hiding.”

IPOB intelligence unit has uncovered plan about how Asari is moving around coastal areas of Biafra land recruiting cultists and demented fellows to join the wicked Nigeria security forces, evil politicians including some governors in the South East Region to attack people and blame it on IPOB and ESN operatives,” part of the statement made available to Ripples Nigeria reads in part.

“The public should know about this wicked plot in the coastal areas of Biafra by few enemies of Biafra restoration.

“They should never take us for granted. Biafrans living in both coastal area and hinterland are all part of our great nation.

“They must understand that Asari and his few traitors are trying to create confusion between Igbo Biafra and Izon (Ijaw) Biafra but we are waiting for his recruited boys.

“He should not think that we are cowards. Let him venture and see what we are capable of doing.

“Asari Dokubo has sealed his contract with the Nigeria Government and some South-East politicians in recruiting Ijaw youths to fight Biafra agitators in Biafra hinterland precisely IPOB and ESN operatives.

“IPOB has uncovered two camps Asari Dokubo opened in Bayelsa and Igweocha for the purpose of training the recruits.

“Some of the youths that were approached refused the offer, while some accepted the proposed monthly salary of 150,000 Naira.

Dokubo and his co travellers’ plan is to merge the Ijaw militant youths with Nigeria military and JTF.

“The new recruits will be provided with military uniforms and will be made to work with other security operatives to kill those agitating for the restoration of Biafra.

“We should not hesitate to officially notify the public and Biafrans through this press release especially PANDEF, Ijaw Youth Council, Elders and traditional rulers of Izon Kingdom and Ohaneze Ndigbo leaders, including all other tribal leaders across coastal land of Biafra, to call Asari Dokubo to order because we are ready for them at any time they may come.”

Biafra agitation will not end with Igbo President in 2023 — Former IPOB leader, Mefor

Former Deputy-Leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Uche Mefor, says the agitation for a Republic of Biafra will not end even if an Igbo man becomes President of Nigeria in 2023.

Mefor, who has been in a running battle with the hierarchy of IPOB and his former boss, Nnamdi Kanu since he was removed from his position, said in a statement on Monday that the clamour for a president from the South-East region in 2023 has nothing to do Biafran agitation and will not stop the demands for a republic.

In the statement he posted on his Facebook page, Mefor said an Igbo president will even do more to intensify the agitation for the restoration of Biafra.

Mefor titled his statement ‘Will the Nigerian President of Igbo-Biafra extraction stop Biafra agitation?’ which reads:

“This is very unlikely. An Igbo president of Nigeria will even intensify the agitation for the restoration of Biafra.

“Biafrans must concentrate on the Biafra territorial politics with a view to controlling the political space in Biafraland.

Nigeria, as a ideal candidate, would be completing the cycle of the status of an ideal contender highly and likely to be subjected to remedial secession if she manhandles the Igbo bid for the presidency and denies or schemes them out of the presidency in 2023, will be justified as a last resort in extreme case of oppression.

“It will also mean an arbitrary or systematic human rights violations against a group that qualifies as a ‘people’ or ‘peoples’ and ultimately, the denial of INTERNAL SELF-DETERMINATION against such group(s) by a state (in this case, Nigeria).

“When that happens, and to such an extent that the territorial intergrity of such state (in this case, Nigeria) is called to question, that state loses her claim to her sovereignty because she has failed to adequately represent her whole population in the governance of her affairs.

“No doubt, there are consequences but if crafted and guided and guarded strategically, the group(s) is/are likely to succeed with recognition of the members of the international community.

If the Igbos (either alone or in collaboration with others) decide to seek for a separate country by exercising their right to self-determination through the LENS OF REMEDIAL SECESSION, they are strongly and likely going to be justified subject to external RECOGNITION.

“In summary, I believe that Nigeria has since reached the threshold to such an extent that any Indigenous People of any ethnic origin within the Nigerian state can seek REMEDIAL SECESSION on account of monumental human rights violations and extreme oppression against them by the Fulani-controlled Nigerian state government.

“Nigeria is, indeed, an ideal candidate ripe for and should be subjected to REMEDIAL SECESSION by the component units. This is what the Biafra agitators must continue to focus on and consolidate.”

Biafra, Yoruba Nation: Cost of splitting Nigeria more than cost of keeping it together – Obasanjo

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has said that it is in the best interest of Nigerians for the country to remain as one

According to Obasanjo, citizens will pay dearly if the country succumbs to agitators clamour for secession.

He made the assertion on Friday at a book lunch in honour of Sunday Mbang, Prelate Emeritus of the Methodist Church Nigeria.

“The cost of disintegration is higher than the cost of being together. We have everything to gain by being united rather than disunited,” Obasanjo said.

The former president, who was the convener of the book launch titled, “My Life and Times”, to celebrate Mbang on his 85th birthday, said those fanning the embers of disunity are the enemies of Nigeria and will be disgraced.

Obasanjo said, “We are here to honour somebody we should honour, and learn from him (Mbang), to show that we genuinely love and appreciate him for the service he has rendered to the Christian community in this country and world over. And to assure him that whatever happens, we will continue to work for unity, peace, security and progress of this country.

“I know that these are things that are dear to his heart. We want to assure you that Nigeria will continue to exist because the cost for Nigeria not to continue to exist is much more than the cost for us to make Nigeria to continue to exist.

“There are many people – high and low – who can be described as enemies of Nigeria but they will not win over those who are friends of Nigeria.”

Biafra groups vow to attack Aso Rock, National Assembly if Nnamdi Kanu isn’t released

A coalition of secessionists, the Biafra Think Tank, and The Biafra Watchdogs, have threatened to attack the National Assembly complex, the Presidential Villa, among others if Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) isn’t released.

The Biafra groups also threatened to kidnap all the ambassadors of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government including former Chief of Army staff, Lt-Gen Tukur Buratai, and keep them hostage until Kanu is released..

The groups stated these in a statement made available to Daily Post on Thursday.

The statement partly reads; “Every landlord in Biafra land must send the names, phone numbers, pictures if possible, address of any police officers, army, DSS (Department of State Services), EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) and the military men living in their houses.

We shall inform the public and the country and airlines that gave out our leader, Kanu’s details and ensure that the staff, plane, and the country pays dearly or we will give their own country Jihadists or ISIS useful information to attack their government complex.

“Today we have agreed and decided to kidnap all the ambassadors of Buhari government, including Buratai and keep them hostage till they release Nnamdi Kanu and until Buhari signs and declares Biafra.

“We hereby summon all the Biafran sons and daughters working in the diaspora to attend an important meeting in the United States of America.

If Buhari refuses to release Nnamdi Kanu within 21 days from now, we shall attack the National Assembly, Aso Rock, Police Headquarters, Nigeria Army Headquarters, etc.”

Kanu was reportedly arrested in Kenya and extradited to Nigeria on Sunday. He is currently in the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS.

Biafra, Oduduwa have formed joint force to protect the south – IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), says the agitators of Biafra and Oduduwa republics have joined resources to forge a united front for their fight against Fulani herdsmen and other criminal elements.

IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, speaking on behalf of the joint group, disclosed that they are training their personnel together to improve their skills and secure Southern Nigeria.

In a statement on Monday, the spokesman stated that an attack on one of the secessionist group would be seen as an attack on the other.

The statement read: “This is to put the Nigerian Government and her security agencies in Nigeria on notice that Biafra and Oduduwa have further strengthened their bond as one people, following the joint training of personnel from both sides.

These joint volunteer force will secure the territories of Southern Nigeria against ‘foreign Fulani terrorists and any unwarranted aggression from any external force’.

“Oduduwa and Biafra Volunteer Force demand an immediate end to the ongoing genocide against the people of Biafra and immediate demilitarisation of Biafraland as we are now ready to defend our territories against aggression. The killing and abduction in Biafra and Oduduwa land must stop immediately.

We reiterate that an attack on Oduduwa land is an attack on Biafra and an attack on Biafra is an attack on Oduduwa. This is the bond the Fulanis tried for many years to destroy but today, the new generation of Oduduwa and Biafra have risen to say no to divide and rule. We are on the threshold of history because we are stronger together.

“Today we have trained together, dined together, and drunk together. Should duty call for it, we shall die together in defense of the entire South. We shall defend our land together, this is historic day for both nations.”

Wole Soyinka backs Biafra, Oduduwa Republics’ agitators, says it’s their right to secede

Nobel laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka, has said those calling for the sovereign nations of Biafra and Oduduwa have rights as free citizens to call for secession.

In a statement, the professor criticised the use of force against the agitators of self-determination, insisting it is the responsibility of the leadership to persuade them.

“It is time to think outside the box. That many, in so doing, find no landing place except dissolution, is not a crime. It is not peculiar to any peoples, and is embedded in the ongoing history of many, and not only on this continent.

It is their natural right as free citizens, not slaves of habit and indoctrination. Where disillusion rides high, sentiment tumbles earthwards, and the only question becomes: what can be salvaged? It thus remains the responsibility of leadership to persuade them, through both discourse and remedial action, that there are other options. Attempted bullying is not a language of discourse, nor the facile ploy of tarring all birds with the same feather,” he said.

While speaking on President Muhammadu Buhari’s statement about the genocidal threat, Soyinka said while he was not in support of those killing and destroying government’s properties, the President’s statement to ‘deal with them in the language they understand’ was wrong and ‘tragically untimely.’

“I hold no brief for those who resort to burning down police stations, slaughter their occupants simply for the crime of earning a measly monthly pittance, torch electoral offices, assassinate politicians in calculated effort to set sections of the country against others in the promotion of their own political goals.

“These are largely nihilists, psychopaths and/or criminal lords, soul mates of Boko Haram, ISWAP, Da’esh and company, not to be confused with genuine liberators. All over the world, throughout history, elections are denounced, boycotted, and generally delegitimized without recourse to wanton butchery.

When, however, a Head of State threatens to ‘shock’ civilian dissidents, to ‘deal with them in the language they understand’, and in a context that conveniently brackets opposition to governance with any bloodthirsting enemies of state, we have to call attention to the precedent language of such a national leader under even more provocative, nation disintegrative circumstances. What a pity, and what a tragic setting, to discover that this language was accessible all the time to President Buhari, where and when it truly mattered, when it would have been not only appropriate, but deserved and mandatory!

When Benue was first massively brought under siege, with the massacre of innocent citizens, the destruction of farms, mass displacement followed by alien occupation, Buhari’s language – both as utterance and as what is known as ‘body language’ – was of a totally different temper. It was diffident, conciliatory, even apologetic.

“After much internal pressure, he eventually visited the scene of slaughter. His language? Learn to live peacefully with your neighbours. The expected language, rationally and legitimately applied to the aggressors, was exactly what we now hear – ‘I shall shock you. I shall deal with you in the language you understand,’” he said.

IPOB members approach Cardinal Arinze in Rome, ask him to seek Pope’s endorsement of Biafra (Video)

A video making rounds online shows the moment members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, approached Cardinal Francis Arinze and tried to convince him to ask Pope Francis to endorse the actualization of Biafra.

The IPOB members could be seen standing with the Nigerian Cardinal in a building in Rome while making their request.

However, Cardinal Arinze, who is from Anambra state, was not on the same page with them as regards secession.

“It is those who did not see the civil war who are talking ‘Biafra, Biafra’. They have no idea,” Cardinal Arinze told the IPOB members.

The Cardinal added that citizens being separated is “not the mandate Christ gave to the Bishops.”

He encouraged the IPOB members to join politics instead and bring about the change they want to see in Nigeria.

He said: “It is for people like you. You get into politics and work hard with others.”

Northern coalition ask President Buhari to grant Biafra for ”peace to reign”

The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to make a way for the Republic of Biafra so that there can be peace in the country.

The CNG also condemned Buhari’s ‘civil war’ comments as unpresidential.

Recall that after being briefed by the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Yakubu Mahmood, on the attacks on INEC facilities in the South East, President Buhari said they will be ‘treated in the language they understand’.

His said in part; “Many of those misbehaving today are too young to be aware of the destruction and loss of lives that occurred during the Nigerian Civil War. Those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through the war, will treat them in the language they understand.”

However, the president’s comments have been widely criticised, with microblogging and social networking service, Twitter, deleting a portion of the tweets posted on his verified handle @MBuhari.

Reacting to the comments and tweets, the CNG in a statement by its spokesman, Abdul-Azeez Sulaiman, said the presidential tweet merely amounts to admission of failure and loss of capacity.

The CNG described the president’s comment on criminal gangs that kill, maim and displace tens of thousands of citizens as a clear indictment on the administration and abdication of Buhari’s primary responsibility of securing the lives and properties of Nigerians.

“We find it ridiculous that most parts of the President’s tweet concentrated more attention to infrastructure than on the lives of citizens that are wasted daily with virtually no response from the authorities

The President’s revelation that most of those involved in the current agitation for secession are those who have not witnessed the 1967 civil war is a vindication of our position that the only reasonable option to ensure a more secure future is for the Igbo to be allowed to have their wish for a Biafran nation.

“The fact that the strength of the Igbo agitation rests on youth who are mainly below the ages of 50, with diseased mindset, encouraged by their political, cultural and religious leaders to take up arms against the Nigerian state and Northerners, has rendered the nation’s unity negotiable.

“It is therefore unreasonable for those older Nigerians who are mostly above 70 to insist that the unity of Nigeria is sacrosanct whereas the people executing the dangerous Southeast secession agenda are almost entirely below 50.

It is time for the Nigerian state and all stakeholders to wake to the reality that the only remaining option to avoid a civil war is for the Igbo to be allowed to have the Biafra they have used intermittently for decades to destabilize the nation and deny peace to other components of the country,” Sulaiman said in the statement.

The group urged the people of the North in any part of the country to remain calm and resolute, with the assurance that they are taking steps to ensure the actualization of Biafra so the rest of the country would know peace.

“We hereby make allowance of the next 30 days to see how Buhari would make true his threat to deal with insurgency, banditry and above all, the greater threat posed by IPOB or how he will handle the entire Igbo leadership that openly back and embolden them,” he said.

#Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu gives South-East Governors 14-day ultimatum to ban open grazing.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has issued a 14-day ultimatum to Governors in the South East, to ban open grazing in the region.

Kanu issued the notice through IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful. He warned that the group’s security outfit would commence the enforcement of the Anti-Grazing Law across the entire region, if no action was taken at the expiration of the ultimatum.

Kanu further commended Governors in the Southwest for banning open grazing in their region.

“We wish to humbly and most submissively call upon all the governors of the East, to as a matter of urgency, ban all manner of open grazing in the region in compliance with the 1969 statutory law of #Nigeria that banned such provocative and primitive practice by Fulani herdsmen” the statement read.

It added that “If after 14 days there is no firm and decisive action by Eastern governors to ban open grazing in our land, #ESN will step into the breach to commence the enforcement of this 1969 Anti-Grazing Law across the entire region. Don’t say you were not informed or given prior warning.”

The South-West governors banned all open grazing of cattle in the region earlier this week. They also prohibited night grazing and herding of cattle by underage children.

Iwuanyanwu says IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, chasing Biafra the wrong way

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has counseled IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu to follow the footsteps of the late Biafra leader, Odimegwu Ojukwu, in his clamour for secession (Biafra).

The elder statesman who made the comments on Sunday while speaking when the leadership of the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) conferred on him the award as its grand patron in Owerri, the Imo State capital, added that before the beginning of the Biafra War in 1967, Ojukwu did not declare secession on his own, but was called upon by all to do so.

According to him, Ndigbo at the moment are not talking about secession but are demanding the restructuring of the country to allow for equity for all Nigerians.

Iwuanyanwu said; “Ojukwu did not ignore elders and he never declared Biafra on his own. It was the people from all walks of life – the academia, businessmen, civil and public servants that called upon him to declare the state of Biafra and become its leader.

“That was why Ojukwu was able to hold Nigeria for three years without rebellion. Most of us who fought the war were intelligent, but we had to join and fight the war. We’re very proud that we fought that war.

“You (Nnamdi Kanu) can’t come on your own and declare Biafra and ask me, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, to follow you. Even in a monarchical system, people’s opinions are sought. What do you have that you are declaring war here and there? You are only endangering the lives of your brothers, the youth who you claim to lead. You have to come and seek advice from Igbo elders. They’re the people that will guide you.

“All we’re asking for in Nigeria is to restructure Nigeria, which Gowon agreed, but his people rebuked him. Gowon also tried his best to fulfill most of the things that were agreed before the end of the war.”

The politician also added that IPOB members are endangering the lives, investments and properties of Igbos in Igboland and across Nigeria by their unguarded and provocative comments and actions.

“Igbo youths must avoid circumstances that they do not understand. What IPOB did during the #ENDSARS protests was very heinous. Their leader went about taking responsibility for issues and destructions they knew nothing about.

“He also ordered his followers to kill some people in Igboland. If you give orders for another person to be killed in your place, don’t be surprised that your people will be killed also. There is no place in Nigeria that you can’t find an Igbo man. So, ordering the killing of anyone in your community is endangering your people. Apart from the fact that most of our population live outside Igboland, Igbo investment outside Igboland is over $2 trillion,” he said.
