University of Nigeria, Nsukka should be renamed after Queen Elizabeth to immortalise her – Adamu Garba

Former Presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, Adamu Garba has said that the University of Nigeria, Nsukka should be renamed after Queen Elizabeth to immortalise her.

After his claim of UNN being the first university was debunked, he attached a rejoinder claiming that UNN was the first university under sovereign Nigeria.

Garba also said those that attended the school should start planning to redo their CVs.

He tweeted;

In order to immortalized Queen Elizabeth, we should rename the University of Nigeria, Nsukka to Queen Elizabeth University of Nigeria since it is the first University in Nigeria.

Immortalizing Queen Elizabeth by renaming the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in her honor would’ve been an easier deal if I were communicating with our grandparents.

Fortunately, they knew her worth. Age is a grace, & 7 decades on the Throne can only be the work of God and Grace. University of Ibadan was there before Nigeria became sovereign.

University of Nigeria, Nsukka is the first University under the sovereign Nigeria.hose of you that went to UNN, Nsukka, get ready to redo your CVs.

Hopefully, your former school will be renamed to Queen Elizabeth University of Nigeria. I congratulate you on this remarkable progress.

APC filled with crass nepotism —Adamu Garba

Former presidential aspirant under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC) has branded the party as being characterised by crass nepotism holding Nigeria down.

Adamu defected to the Young Progressives Party (YPP) having raised about N83 million as an APC presidential aspirant, accusing his former party of over-financialising politics.

Adamu, who featured in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, said the APC was full of cronyism.

He noted: “That is why I said since APC has taken us to that direction, we have to define a new path.

“A path that would remove Nigeria from poverty and transit it to one of the greatest countries in the world away from the crass nepotism and cronyism that is evidently happening in the APC.

“In a situation where you commercialise political participation in the country, you are causing so much damage to the future of the country.

The YPP presidential hopeful lamented the outrageous fees pegged by the APC for presidential aspirants, adding that young Nigerians had no future in the party.

“By fixing the presidential form price at N100 million, the APC has succeeded in pursuing young people from politics.

“If you are a young man in Nigeria and you try to participate in any political activity in the APC, it is very clear that you are just trying to waste your time.”

ASUU responsible for destruction of education in Nigeria – Adamu Garba

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Garba, has accused the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), of destroying Nigeria’s education system.

Garba described the academic body as the single most destructive system of education in Nigeria.

The single most destructive system of Education in Nigeria is ASUU. Always Striking for money, not for innovative learning.

“I don’t know why such kind of Union still exist when we are not a communist state,” he wrote.

His comment comes after ASUU threatened another strike if the Federal Government failed to fulfil agreements reached in December 2020.

The body had given the Federal Government three weeks warning or risk another nationwide industrial action.

I told Google to take down my app from Play Store – Adamu Garba

Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and IT strategist, Adamu Garba, says he asked Google to take down his social media app, Crowwe from Play Store because he needed to update the code.

The Chief Executive Officer of IPI group said this during a chat with The PUNCH on Monday.

He added that the app would be back up latest by Tuesday.

Garba, who backed the ban of Twitter in Nigeria, said that since the microblogging site was suspended over a week ago, thousands of Nigerians had migrated to Crowwe.

He added that it was in a bid to make some improvements that he asked Google to take down the app.

On whether the app was removed due to the complaints by Nigerians, Garba said this was not true, adding that Google does not remove apps from its Playstore solely because of complaints.

“We took down Crowwe App because we are trying to update the codes and then put it back up. There are some bugs which we identified which can prevent future downloads so we decided to bring it down, edit the code and then put it back up.

Yes, a lot of people have been posting reports but it has no effect on the app. The truth is that before you publish an app, you have to pass through a lot of audits and a lot of these people commenting don’t know.

The app being installed has nothing to do with the user but has everything to do with the app itself. There is a bug affecting the contact list information so we had to submit a support report to take it down which was done. We are almost done with the publishing and we will push it back and it might be installed tonight or tomorrow morning,” he said.

”Twitter is IPOB online machine” – Adamu Garba

Former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adamu Garba, has described Twitter as an online machine for the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

Garba made the remark while commending the Nigerian Government for suspending the activities of Twitter in Nigeria.

Featuring on Channels Television’s Programme, Politics Today on Friday, Garba said Twitter was in support of IPOB’s activities.

He stated that Twitter supports IPOB more than it does to the Nigerian government.

He said: “Twitter is behind them. I think Twitter is like a kind of IPOB online machine because what they do more is supporting IPOB much more than the government. Everyone knows that IPOB is anti-Nigeria, their target is to destroy Nigeria”.

Recall that the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed had announced the ban on Twitter.

He had explained that the microblogging site was suspended because Nigerians were using the platform for activities that were against the country’s unity.

Buhari’s tweet: Adamu Garba asks FG to block Twitter from Nigeria’s internet space

Former presidential aspirant of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Adamu Garba, has said the Federal Government should shut down Twitter from Nigeria’s internet space.

He spoke in reaction to the tech giant’s deletion of President Muhammadu Buhari’s controversial tweet on the civil war.

According to Garba, Twitter has no right to take down President Buhari’s tweet.

Taking to his Twitter account, the APC Chieftain said the microblogging platform should be expunged from Nigeria.

He wrote: “Twitter has no right to infuse into our local political affairs. It’s a company not a government.

“By removing our democratically elected President’s speech to the people of Nigeria, Twitter needs to be shut down from Nigerian internet space.

“Twitter needs to get out of Nigeria.”

He went further to urge Buhari and his cabinet to consider using his social media app as an alternative to Twitter.

Garba added; President @MBuhari and his entire cabinet, including all Govt related social handles should consider using my app.

We grow our local brand and perfect it by using and supporting it.

Since we have a local content rules, my app is there to protect our national integrity.

Agreed we have our constraints but it is ours and we are improving on it.

My app will do well to advance the interest of Nigerians and Africans than some foreign online colonization tool called Twitter.

Father Mbaka did not do anything wrong by asking Buhari for contracts – Adamu Garba

Former Presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Adamu Garba says Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka did not do anything wrong by asking for government contracts.

His comment comes after Garba Shehu, special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity, said that Father Mbaka was angry because he didn’t get contract awards he requested for which was why he demanded Buhari’s resignation.

According to a statement Shehu released on Friday, Mbaka came to the Presidential Villa with three contractors, but their attempt to convince the president into influencing government projects in their favour failed.

Reacting to the statement, Adamu said that Mbaka wasn’t wrong for going to see President Buhari with contractors.

He said that the concerns should have been about the competency of the contractors, not the visit.

The APC chieftain wrote; ”There’s absolutely nothing wrong with Rev. Father Mbaka going to see the President with contractors. The questions should be on the competency or otherwise of the contractors not the visit

Father Mbaka attempted to make someone’s life richer. This is far better than blackmailing”

We will meet in court.- Former presidential aspirant threatens C.E.O of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, for supporting “END SARS” protest.

During the late hours of yesterday , the co-founder and C.E.O of Twitter, Jack Dorsey solicited for support towards the ongoing “end sars” protest in Nigeria.

He did this through his verified Twitter account and of course, this caused a lot of controversial comments on Twitter. Many Nigerians praised him for showing his concern for Nigerian youths , while others criticised his action.

Jack wrote ;

“Donate via #Bitcoin to help #ENDSARS.”

However, amongst those who criticised Jack Dorsey , is a former presidential aspirant for the 2019 presidential election and C.E.O of IPI group limited, Adam Garba.

Adamu Garba replied Jack Dorsey by tweeting the following statements;

“Dear @jack, It’ll do you a lot more good if you stay away from Nigerian Politics. You should know that the so-called #EndSARS protest have transformed into political agitation, capable of breaking law & order in our country. You should not be a moral & financial sponsor to this.”

“This is Nigeria, most of the demands initially presented was attended to by the responsible authorities. SARS no longer exist in this country. Your support for a disbanded entity was a needless interference. We cannot allow killings again in Nigeria in the name of protests.”

“I understand that this may play well to your business, you have more content, more people & more activity on your platform, but to us is about life, peace & security of our dear Country, we cannot allow you to be part of the people sponsoring disorder. We need peace & prosperity.”

“I can see you are even sharing a link for people to donate money for this protest, an event capable of escalation beyond our already overstretched security management. If this protest continues to evolve into disorder (hopefully not)…As a Nigerian citizen, we’ll meet in court. Thank you. @jack”
