Apostle Johnson Suleman is receiving heat after he took to Twitter to pray that God will see Ike Ekweremadu and his family through.
Former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice were arrested by the Metropolitan Police in London for alleged conspiracy to harvest the organs of a child.
The Ekweremadus needed the boy’s kidney for their daughter, Sonia, who is suffering from a kidney problem.
Reacting to the news, Apostle Suleman wrote on Twitter: “Heard about the travails of the former deputy senate president,may God see him through..may God protect their child and spare her life.. Thank GOD for preserving the life of that minor who was to be used.. May God help them to do the right thing.. This too shall pass!”
His tweet generated mixed reactions with some Twitter users calling him out for praying for someone who allegedly committed a crime.
Reacting, Suleman tweeted: “I just made a prayer for all those involved in the issue of the former deputy senate president and I see reactions.. since you have become the law court, take your hate somewhere else and don’t join those I have blocked..even a confirmed thief on the cross, Jesus prayed for him.”
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa has said the All Progressives Congress, APC, and its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu are not smart.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the Governor of Delta State, said making Kabiru Masari a placeholder showed that APC was not organized and not ready for election.
Okowa said: “You can find that the APC is finding it difficult to get who would be their vice presidential candidate, we are hearing something we have not heard before, somebody on placement to be replaced.
“They are actually not smart, that makes us believe they are not even ready for the election, there seems to be a lot of confusion in the APC, unlike us, right from day one, we‘ve made our decision and I believe we‘re on the right path.”
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had set a deadline for the submission of presidential running mates.
To beat the deadline, Tinubu submitted Masari’s name as his running mate, but it was alleged that Masari is just a placeholder.
However, the spokesman of the APC presidential candidate, Tunde Rahman had insisted that his principal submitted Masari’s name as his running mate.
He, however, disclosed that Tinubu is consulting with President Muhammadu Buhari, the APC leadership, and Masari over a final decision on the issue of his running mate.
Rahman said Masari may step down in the interest of the party.
A housewife has been arrested for hiring a man to assassinate her husband in Yola.
The woman, Hauwa Audu, a resident of Michika local government area, hired the services of one Kwaji Tizhe, for N100, 000, to kill her husband, James Tizhe, and made an initial deposit of N7,000.
Mrs. Audu currently in prison custody in Yola, for alleged attempted murder was arraigned before the Chief Magistrate Court I, for “ attempt to commit culpable homicide,” Leadership reported.
According to the prosecutor, ASP Francis Audu, the defendant hatched a plot to eliminate her husband, James Tizhe and two others that include Maryamu Bugi and Bugi Walla.
The prosecutor intimated the court that the defendant, gave a cash deposit of N7, 000, to the assassin out of the sum of N100, 000, she had promised to pay after killing those she had penciled down. The hired killer collected the cash deposit on June 3, 2022, and reported himself to the police.
It was gathered that Hauwa paid the money to Kwaji, to consult a native doctor on her behalf to inflict paralysis on her husband, but not to kill him.
She reportedly confessed that she took the action because of the husband’s failure to treat her as his wife and properly take care of her. The husband was alleged not to share the same bed with her for the past nine years.
The defendant was said to have accused Maryamu Bugi and Bugi Walla of murdering her daughter-in-law through witchcraft as a result of which she decided to take a revenge.
Upon her arraignment in court, the defendant denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty. It was after she entered her plea that the prosecution applied for an adjournment to enable him to duplicate the case file and send the same to DPP for vetting considering the nature of the alleged offence.
In his ruling, Chief Magistrate Mohammed Buba, ordered the remand of the defendant and subsequently adjourned the matter to July 14, 2022.
Catholic priest, Reverend Father Vitus Borogo, who was killed by bandits in Kaduna State, once revealed that he was born and raised in Zaria and Kaduna is the only home he knew.
The 50-year-old priest from Benue state was killed at the Nigerian Prison Farm in Kujama in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna on Saturday, June 25.
According to citizen journalist and activist, Steven Kefas, the late priest told him in 2017 that Kaduna is the only home he knew.
Sharing screenshots of a conversation they had, Kefas wrote ;
“Yesterday, Most Rev Fr. Vitus Bogoro, the Chaplain of Kaduna Polytechnic Catholic community was killed by terrorists at the Prison Farm, Kujama.”
“Why didn’t they kidnap Padre & ask for ransom? Why did they outrightly murder him? Padre loved Kaduna dearly and once told me in 2017 that Kaduna is the only home he knows yet the same Kaduna killed him for no justifiable reason.
“I am heartbroken, that a gentleman, a man whose humility is second to known had to die in such s manner by the bullets of some stinking terrorists from hell. Rest in Power Padre, Nigeria and Kaduna failed you! Elrufai & Buhari, it shall never be well with you and your generations”
A seven-year-old primary one pupil was caught after he broke into a house in the Olomi area of Ibadan, Oyo State and stole two phones and N4,000.
According to Nigerian Tribune, the boy also cooked rice, ate all the meat in the pot and drank the milk he found in the house.
It was gathered that the boy opened the padlock with a key to gain entry into the room of one of the wives, Mrs Adijat Fatai.
He was said to have opened the woman’s wardrobe, rummaged through clothes and stole N4,000 kept there and two mobile phones.
The boy also also went to the younger wife’s room but couldn’t find anything to steal.
He was said to have proceeded to the kitchen, cooked rice in a kettle with a camp gas and ate all the meat he found in the pot.
After the first meal, he reportedly drank the milk he also found, and began to cook rice again.
He was said to have kept the phones with a woman in the neighborhood and ran out of the elderly woman’s house, telling her that he would be back despite her query on how the phones came about.
By the time he returned to his place of operation, the rice he put on fire had got burnt but this did not stop him from eating the remnant.
He was said to be on this when he heard footsteps and quickly ran to the backyard.
The boy was caught last Thursday, June 23, and during interrogation, he confessed to have given his grandmother N2,000 he stole.
He also admitted to opening the front door with a cutlass and cooked rice twice, drank milk and returned to the house after giving his grandmother the N2000.
“Unfortunately for me, one of those living in the house met me there but I told a lie that it was a boy who came there to steal,” the boy said.
“I have broken into four houses in the last two days before I was caught today (Thursday).” he added.
However, Mrs Adijat Fatai, whose room was burgled by the suspect, said he stole N4,000 from there and not N2000 as he claimed.
Musibau, one of the sons of Mr Hassan Fatai, whose house was burgled, said: “The boy ran to the backyard when he heard footsteps. We met all doors ajar and saw him at the backyard. When asked about who went into the house, he said it was a boy. He said he knew the boy and took us somewhere but we found nobody. He told us again that he knew where the boy kept the flask in which he put the rice he cooked. He took us there and brought out the flask.
“He promised to bring the boy to us if he sees him. We became suspicious that he must know something about the house-breaking and stealing. We told him that we suspected him and would report him to the police. That was how he started confessing that he was the one who broke in.”
The vigilante commandant of Oluyole Local Government, Olusegun Idowu, told Tribune that he and his men had been in search of the boy’s father, Ahmed Rasheed, said to a commercial motorcycle operator.
When he was told of his son’s misdemeanour, Rasheed was said to have signed an undertaking to take him away from the community, and also agreed that the law should take its course if he refuses to take care of his son or if he comes back to the community to steal again.
Meanwhile, the victims said that they decided not to report him to the police because of his age and also because they didn’t want to spend money and time pursuing the case with the police.
A Kenyan man who allegedly destroyed his wife’s academic certificates during a quarrel has been charged with malicious damage to property.
Francis Chege Wanjiru was charged before the Kibera Law Courts, Nairobi, on Friday, June 24, with willfully and unlawfully damaging Esther Wangechi Mwai’s KCSE and Diploma certificate both issued by the Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec).
The accused committed the offence at the couple’s house in Waithaka area along Kikuyu road in Dagoretti Sub County, Nairobi on June 22, 2022.
The accused had just returned home at night when an argument ensued between him and his wife.
He is reported to have taken documents, which were in an envelope, and tore them to pieces before storming out of the house.
Ms Mwai reported the matter at the Waithaka police station and her husband was subsequently arrested.
The accused denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Derrick Kutto and was released on a surety bond of Sh50,000 with an alternative cash bail of Sh10,000.
The case will be mentioned on July 12 for pretrial and fixing of hearing dates.
Clarence House has denied any wrong doing after a Sunday Times report claimed that UK throne heir, Prince Charles received a suitcase containing €1 million ($1.05 million) in cash from a Qatari politician.
According to the Sunday Times, the suitcase containing €1 million in cash was one of three installments of cash Prince Charles personally received, totaling €3 million, from former Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani between 2011 and 2015.
The Sunday Times reported on one occasion, Sheikh Hamad gave Prince Charles €1 million reportedly stuffed into carrier bags from the upmarket London department store, Fortnum and Mason.
On another occasion, Prince Charles accepted a duffel bag containing €1 million during a private one-on-one meeting at Clarence House in 2015.
The report says the payments were deposited into the accounts of the Prince of Wales’s Charitable Fund (PWCF), an entity that bankrolls the prince’s private projects and his country estate in Scotland.
Even though there is no suggestion the payments were illegal, Clarence House has moved to claim that no wrong doing occured.
“Charitable donations received from Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim were passed immediately to one of the Prince’s charities who carried out the appropriate governance and have assured us that all the correct processes were followed,” Clarence House told CNN in a statement on Sunday June 26.

The fashion designer disclosed that he was hurt when people judged him saying he had married Pokello because of her wealth.
He told ZionFelix;
Sometimes people would say Elikem is a gold digger and he is only there for the money, and sometimes it hit me a little bit. That is why I wanted to come to Ghana on my ground, so we work from the bottom up. I wasn’t so much insecure, it was more of wanting to do my own thing.
Elikem also disclosed that a misunderstanding on which country they were going to settle in, added to the issues he had in his marriage with Pokello. He revealed that he tried to move to Zimbabwe but it did not work out for him.
He said;
There was a misunderstanding on where we were going to live. I tried to move to Zimbabwe for a bit. I dismantled my machine into pieces and traveled with it in suitcases. I had to start my business over there, I had a few customers. I was there for 2 to 3 months, and it wasn’t going so well.
After his business failed to takeoff, Elikem relocated back to Ghana. He said Pokello was not comfortable with the move.
He added;
I tried coming back to Ghana, but for some reason, Zimbabwe was more comfortable for Pokello. Everybody knows she was good from the start, and I was the one who was rather working to make ends meet more. She and her family were quite wealthy, and I was the guy who was coming out of nowhere.
Elikem was married to Zimbabwean socialite Pokello Nare in 2015 after they met at Big Brother Africa. The couple however divorced in 2017 a few months after welcoming their first son Tristan.
Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has left Nigeria for France.
Though it’s unclear how long Tinubu will be away from the country, it was however learnt that he departed for France after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Monday morning, June 27.

The lifeless body of a teenage girl was found in a drain with her hands tied.
Residents of Ablekuma Manhean in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, Ghana, were shocked to find the body at about 6:00am on Thursday, June 23.
An eyewitness, Hawa Usman, who spoke to Citi TV, said the hands of the deceased were tied at the time she was discovered.
Hawa said: “My child was the first person to see the body. She was waiting for a friend so they can walk to school together. But upon getting to the place, she noticed the body of the lady and came home to inform me.”
The citing of the body caused a crowd to gather at the drain as locals strained to get a glimpse of the deceased.
The United States is sending a new batch of military assistance to Ukraine, the White House said Thursday, with the $450 million shipments including four more advanced rocket systems to use against Russian invasion forces.
“This package contains weapons and equipment, including new High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems,” White House spokesman John Kirby said. Also included are tens of thousands of rounds of artillery ammunition and patrol boats.
The rocket systems known as HIMARS are at the top of Ukraine’s wish list as the pro-Western country battles a Russian invasion force advancing through the east of the country with the help of a significant advantage in heavy artillery.
An initial four units of the rocket system have already been delivered, kicking off the training program required for Ukrainian soldiers to operate the sophisticated and highly accurate weaponry. Another four are now being sent, the Pentagon said.
Also included are 36,000 rounds of artillery ammunition, 18 vehicles used to tow 155mm artillery pieces, 1,200 grenade launchers, 2,000 machine guns, 18 coastal and river patrol boats, and spare parts, the Pentagon said.
With the latest shipments, the US contribution to Ukraine’s military will amount so far to $6.1 billion since the start of Russia’s invasion in February, Kirby said.
The Supreme Court on Friday struck out President Muhammadu Buhari and the Attorney General of the Federation’s suit challenging Section 84(12) of the Electoral Act.
The case was expunged on the grounds that it lacks the jurisdiction to entertain the suit and is an abuse of court process.
Earlier, a notice for the judgment delivery was served on President Buhari and the National Assembly on Thursday, inviting them to appear before the court today for the judgment.
The President and his Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, had filed a suit at the Supreme Court, seeking an interpretation of the controversial clause in the Electoral Amendment Act 2022.
In the suit filed on April 29, Buhari and Malami, who are the plaintiffs, listed the National Assembly as the sole defendant.
There have been several debates regarding Section 84(12) of the amended Electoral Act 2022 which was assented to in February.
Upon assenting to the act, President Buhari had asked the National Assembly to delete the contended clause, however, the parliament declined the president’s request.
Section 84 (12) of the legislation holds that, “no political appointee at any level shall be a voting delegate or be voted for at the convention or congress of any political party for the purpose of the nomination of candidates for any election.”
In their suit marked SC/CV/504/2022 and filed on April 29, 2022, President Buhari and Malami sought an order of the apex court to strike out the section of the Electoral Act, which they argue was inconsistent with the nation’s constitution.
According to the court document, the plaintiffs contend that the Section 84(12) of the Electoral (Amendment) Act, 2022 is inconsistent with the provisions of sections 42, 65, 66, 106, 107, 131, 137, 147, 151, 177, 182, 192 and 196 of the Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, (as amended), as well Article 2 of the African Charter on Human and People and Peoples Rights.
The plaintiffs further contended that the constitution already makes provisions for qualification and disqualification for the offices of the President and Vice President, Governor and Deputy Governor, Senate and House of Representatives, House of Assembly, Ministers, Commissioners and Special Advisers.

They urged the Supreme Court to make: “A declaration that the joint and or combined reading of the section 65, 66, 106, 107, 131, 137, 147, 151, 177, 182, 192 and 196 of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, (as amended), the provision of Section 84 (12) of the Electoral Act, 2022 which also ignores Section 84(3) of the same Act, is an additional qualifying and/or disqualifying factors for the National Assembly, House of Assembly, Gubernatorial and Presidential elections as enshrined in the said constitution, hence unconstitutional, unlawful, null and void”.
However, in its decision on Friday, the Supreme Court held that President Buhari having assented to the bill on February 25 2022, can not turn around to challenge same act .
In a unanimous judgement delivered by Justice Emmanuel Agim the court said allowing the suit to have it’s way will amount to approbating and reprobating at the same time and no court of law shall allow that.
The Apex Court unanimously agreed that President Buhari lacked the jurisdiction to bring the suit before it because of the nature of the reliefs sought.
China has developed a mind-reading device that can detect when men view pornography, a move aimed at eventually banning all pornography consumption.
According to NYPost, Chinese researchers claimed they have developed an official patent for a device capable of “reading a man’s mind” and specifically detecting when he is watching erotic movie. The current prototype of the device is said to be capable of detecting brain waves that are activated when a man is exposed to pornography.
The study was conducted on 15 male college students who were placed in front of a computer screen playing porn while wearing the device on their head. The mind reader will then be able to process a collection of photos and videos and flag anything suspicious.
Xu Jianjun, who carried out the research and is also the director of the electrical engineering department at Beijing Jiaotong University, says that the purpose behind the device is “to detect bad information”. He also claims that the results are 80% accurate and can filter out additional signals that can trigger brainwaves when emotions are emitted from non-porn-related content.

The US Senate has passed a gun control bill the most significant firearms legislation in 30 years.
The bill comes after mass shootings last month at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, and a primary school in Uvalde, Texas, that left 31 people dead.
Fifteen Republicans joined Democrats in the upper chamber of Congress to approve the measure by 65 votes to 33 on Thursday June 23.
The bill will now have to pass in the House of Representatives before US President Biden can sign it into law.
In a statement released after the vote, the president called on members of the House to “promptly vote on this bipartisan bill and send it to my desk”.
“Tonight, after 28 years of inaction, bipartisan members of Congress came together to heed the call of families across the country and passed legislation to address the scourge of gun violence in our communities,” Biden said.
“Families in Uvalde and Buffalo — and too many tragic shootings before — have demanded action. And tonight, we acted.”
The reforms include tougher background checks for buyers younger than 21 and $15bn (£12.2bn) in federal funding for mental health programs and school security upgrades.
It also calls for funding to encourage states to implement “red flag” laws to remove firearms from people considered a threat.
And it closes the so-called “boyfriend loophole” by blocking gun sales to those convicted of abusing unmarried intimate partners.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has vowed to take the bill through the House quickly, despite Republican leader Kevin McCarthy urging his members to vote against the bill.
“First thing tomorrow morning, the Rules Committee will meet to advance this life-saving legislation to the floor,” Pelosi said after the vote.
The bill is also significant because it is the first time in decades that proposed reforms have received this level of support from both Democrats and Republicans. Historically, efforts to strengthen US gun laws have been blocked by the Republican party.
All 50 Democrats, including the party’s most conservative members, Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema, were joined by deal-making Republicans, including the party’s Senate Leader Mitch McConnell and close Trump ally Lindsey Graham.

Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has reached out to the family of former deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu, who was arrested and arraigned before a UK magistrate court on Thursday, June 23, over alleged organ harvesting.
Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice, have been accused of taking a 15-year-old boy from Nigeria to the UK to harvest his kidney for their sick child.
Reaching out to the embattled former deputy senate president on his Twitter handle, Mr. Obi wrote;
”My family and I are with the Ekweremadu’s over their travail. We join all men of goodwill in praying for the healing of their daughter and commit them into God’s hand for justice to be done. -PO”
Ike Ekweremadu, former deputy senate president, and his wife, Beatrice, have been arrested and charged to court for bringing a child to the UK for organ harvesting.
Confirming the arrests in a statement, the metropolitan police said the pair were charged to court on Thursday following an investigation by the police’ specialist crime team.
The police added that the investigation was launched after detectives were alerted to potential offences under modern slavery legislation in May 2022.
“Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu, 55 (10.9.66) of Nigeria is charged with conspiracy to arrange/facilitate travel of another person with a view to exploitation, namely organ harvesting,” the statement reads.
“Ike Ekweremadu, 60 (12.05.62) of Nigeria is charged with conspiracy to arrange/facilitate travel of another person with a view to exploitation, namely organ harvesting.
“They have both been remanded in custody and will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court later today.”
“A child has been safeguarded and we are working closely with partners on continued support.
“As criminal proceedings are now under way we will not be providing further details.”
Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Federal High Court sitting in Enugu has convicted and sentenced two fraudsters on the Watch List of the American Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, to seven years imprisonment for internet- related offences.
The convicts: Uchechukwu Solomon Ezirim and Dike George Chimezie got their jail terms on different dates in the same court. While Ezirim was jailed on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, Chimezie was convicted on Friday, June 10, 2022.
Ezirim’s conviction was based on his trial by the Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on two- count charges bordering on forgery, impersonation and obtaining money from unsuspecting foreign nationals under false pretences.
One of the charges against him read: ”that you, Uchechukwu Solomon Ezirim with one Chukwudi Igbokwe currently serving prison term in the United States of America.) sometimes between 2015 and 2017 at Owerri ,Imo State within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court dealt with the card of another person and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 34 of the of the Money Laundering Act (Prohibition ,Prevention, Etc) ,2015″ Justice Buba convicted and sentenced him to three years imprisonment with an option of fine of N1,000,000( One Million Naira). Chimezie, on the other hand was sentenced to four years imprisonment with an option of forfeiting five times the amount he benefited from the crime. He benefited N766,000 from the crime and he is to forfeit N3,830,000( Three Million , Eight Hundred and Thirty Million Naira) in lieu of prison terms.
The convicts’ journey to the Correctional Centre started when they were placed on a Watch List by the FBI for impersonation and cybercrimes. They were later arrested by operatives of the Enugu Zonal Command of the EFCC and charged to court. Their trials ran a full course leading to their eventual conviction.
Fourteen (14) kidnapped victims have been rescued by Zamfara police command during an intelligence led search and rescue operation at Kunchin Kalgo forest within Tsafe LGA of the state.
Police spokesperson, SP Mohammed Shehu confirmed this on Thursday June 23, adding that those rescued include twelve adults and two babies.
According to Shehu, tactical operatives deployed along Kunchin Kalgo axis on Tuesday June 21, in collaboration with some individuals who have resolved to partner with security agencies in restoring peace to the state, acted on credible intelligence and stormed a suspected bandit’s hideout.
The victims rescued from the operation informed told the police that bandits invaded Nasarawa Wanke and Rijiya villages in Gusau LGA, and abducted several persons.
The abductees said they spent about 42 days in captivity prior to the rescue mission. The Commissioner of Police, CP Ayuba N. Elkanah while handing over the victims to their relations, appreciated the government and people of the state for their continuous support and collaboration with the police.
Elkanah assured the people of intensifying efforts to safely rescue kidnapped victims and reunite them with their families, while bringing their abductors to justice.
