How they planned to frame by filming me with prostitutes – Father Mbaka

Spiritual Director, Adoration Ministry Enugu, Father Ejike Mbaka has alleged that there was a plot to frame him using prostitutes.

Mbaka claimed that the plot was to kidnap him and drag him through a brothel in Enugu, after which he would be recorded with them.

He explained that they planned to carryout the plot after he left a meeting with Catholic Bishop of the Enugu Diocese, Callistus Onaga.

Giving his new year message on New Year Day, Mbaka recounted how Onaga directed him to shut down his Adoration ministry in Enugu for one-month and embark on a retreat. He said the Bishop cautioned him against meddling in politics.

The fiery priest said he obeyed the Bishop’s order, but that the Holy Spirit ministered to him that he should not park “anywhere”.

Mbaka said: “I didn’t know I was being tracked that night. Before the next day you people started searching for me.

“Their plan was to capture me that night and drag me to Cubana (Hotel) and take me to Mobil where prostitutes stay and then take me around (there) and then, show video of me in the place (Brothel) so that people would ask what Mbaka was searching for in brothel.

“Then, they will again, drag me to Igboeze, another spot for Prostitutes. That’s where they planned to naked themselves, not me. So, then people would begin to ask what I am doing naked in prostitutes’ spot. Then, they will take me to Abuja and the story will be much, they will kill themselves, not me.”

Sunday Igboho’s New Year message for 2022

Let it be abundantly clear that I am not at war with President Buhari, State Governors or anybody in government. What I want the government to do is address the genesis of my agitation for a Yoruba Nation. The genesis is the insecurity in Ibarapaland and other places in the entire Yorubaland where farmers are habitually maimed, hacked to death, kidnapped and raped as if there are no security agents in the country. Everybody deserves to be protected and ought to feel safe in their country regardless of their tribe, religion or political leaning.

At some point, our people became helpless and could no longer go to their farmlands again. Scores of farmers were butchered to death in 2021 and the government pretended that all was okay. No, this must not continue and this was why I rose to stop the menace. I did not speak up to fight government, I spoke up to ensure the protection of my people and land.

In 2022, the government must rise up and put an end to the havoc caused by herdsmen that are criminals and give everyone a sense of belonging – whether foreigners or locals — and stop the attack on my people in Yorubaland.

I am not selfish and this has never been about me. I am more concerned about the helpless citizens who buried their loved ones to aimless killings in 2021 and I pray that the Almighty God through divine intervention stops the killings of innocent people in Nigeria in 2022 and beyond.

In 2022, it would indeed be to my greatest satisfaction to see my people live without fear and with the confidence that their lives matter if no place else then in their own homes, lands and farms. This is my abiding hope for my people, so help me God.

Two months after death of second wife, Pastor Odukoya loses twin sister

The Senior Pastor of the Fountain of Life Church in Lagos, Taiwo Odukoya, has lost his twin sister, Kehinde Hassan, to the cold hands of death barely two months after the death of his second wife, Pastor Nomthi Rosemary.

The clergyman who announced the passing of his sister via a post on his Facebook page, said Kehinde died “after a difficult battle with cancer.”

Also expressing condolences on the demise of Pastor Odukoya’s sister, his daughter, Ijogun Odukoya also took to Facebook to write:

“My Dearest Aunty K, my birthing partner and one of my closest aunties. You were always there for me when I needed my mother the most.

You held my hand and encouraged me, to say I will miss you is such an understatement. Rest on Aunty, love you,” Ms Odukoya Ijogun wrote.

The South African-born Pastor Nomthi died on November 9, 2021, after almost two years of battling with cancer.

Her death came some years after Pastor Odukoya’s first wife, Bimbo Odukoya, died in a plane crash in 2005 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Ooni of Ife and Olori Naomi reportedly reconciled by elders, former Ondo governorship aspirant Prince Eniola Ojajuni claims.

The Ooni of Ife and Olori Silekunola Moronke Naomi have reportedly reconciled after a meeting between some elders and Naomi’s family.

This claim was made by Prince Eniola Ojajuni, a former Ondo State governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

As an indigene of Ondo state, where Olori Naomi is from, Prince took to Facebook to give updates on the Yoruba royal couple’s relationship.

He claimed that elders from the Ooni’ side (Ile Ife) and elders from Akure, where Olori Naomi is from, met on the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 29, to help reconcile the couple.

He alleged that the meeting held in Akure and that the Olori’s mother “asked for forgiveness” on her daughter’s behalf.

“Battle is over!” He wrote alongside a photo of the Olori being led to a waiting car by Palace aides and uniformed officials.

He shared another post, welcoming the Olori back to the source (palace).

Despite Prince Eniola Ojajuni’s claim that the couple has reconciled, Olori Naomi’s post announcing the end of her marriage to the Ooni remains on her Instagram account.

Musicians do not receive their blessings from God – Reno Omokri

Nigerian author and pastor, Reno Omokri has suggested that the wealth and success that musicians are enjoying is not as a result of God’s blessings.

He stated this on Instagram while responding to a follower who questioned his post about success and progress making a U-turn for some men after they fornicate with slay queens.

The follower identified as Abdulrahman Omeiza then wondered why the same does not apply to musicians who sleep around but are still progressing.

In response, Omokri said asked Abdulrahman if he thinks it is only God that blesses. He further explained that their are other sources of blessings which are not of God.

He then referenced the biblical stories of magicians replicating what Moses did in Egypt, to buttress his point.

Omokri wrote; ”Dear Abdulrahman Omeiza, Do you think it is only God that blesses? Proverbs 10:22 says “The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.” What we learn from this is that there are other ‘blessings’ other than the blessings of God.

Don’t forget that Pharaoh’s magicians were able to replicate the first few signs that God wrought through Moses. Who was the source of true miracles? Certainly not God! What you should be looking at is the end of such blessings, not the beginning. Ecclesiastes 7:8 says “the end of a matter is better than the beginning thereof”.

Joshua 1:8 tells us that God gives “good success”. If there is good success, then by an application of Newton’s Third Law, there must invariably be ‘bad success’. Thank you and may God bless you.”

Nigeria urges newly-inducted doctors to shun strike in resolving grievances

The Federal Government has advised newly-inducted medical doctors not to partake in strike in the country’s health sector.

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, according to a statement issued by the Deputy Director of Press and Public Relations in the ministry, Charles Akpan, made the call during the induction of six graduates of the University of Abuja into the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) held on Sunday.

The minister’s son, Dr. Andrew Ngige, was among the new inductees.

Ngige urged the medical graduates to be of good behaviour and uphold the highest ethical standards in the discharge of their duties.

He said: “I am a medical doctor. One of you being inducted here is my second son. My first son is also a medical doctor. My daughter is also a medical doctor. By virtue of ethics, our oath as doctors is to save lives. That is our primary duty.

“If doctors go on strike, people die. That is the truth. Human life is irreplaceable. How do you bring back people who have died as a result of doctors not being at their duty posts?

“It is unethical for doctors to embark on strike. I have said it so many times in the past and I will continue to say it. Doctors should not go on strike. Therefore, you should desist from going on strike in the interest of humanity and our noble profession.”

Queen Naomi Silekunola announces divorce from Ooni of Ife

Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi’s wife, Olori Naomi Silekunola, has announced the end of their marriage

The Prophetess confirmed their divorce, in a post on her Instagram page, where she noted that she will no longer be referred to as wife to the Ooni of Ife or as Queen of Ile-Ife but as the Queen of the people and mother of my adorable Prince.”

Silekunola explained that she tried to make her marriage work and smiled through the struggle, but realised that she had just one assignment which is her son.

In her words; “I bless the Lord almighty for His faithfulness in the last 3 years of my marriage. In life’s journey, it isn’t how far. Still, how well, indeed though Satan should buffet if trials should come, I have this blessed assurance controlling all situations and saying to me it is well with my soul. Certainly, it is well. I made my journey into the ancient throne of Ife with faith in my heart and love for the keeper of it.

Few impressions I would love to correct. If anyone knows otherwise, they are free to come up with facts. Let it be known that this decision to move on did not come because his majesty is married to another queen. As many would love to assume, throughout our life as a couple, I was the only married wife to him. There were side attractions, but it was never an issue.

I never approached him with any revelation of any sort, as many believed he contacted me first and made his proposal known several months later.

“The marriage was not an arranged one, as many have misconstrued. I never knew the prophetess said to have introduced me to him. Instead, he introduced her to me after I agreed to marry him. I was only being polite out of respect for him.

“I have never been pregnant all my life before Tadenikawo; my son is my first ever pregnancy with medical reports to back it up. The girl who is said to be my daughter is my niece.

I did my best to endure and make it work; many times, I smiled through the struggle, but I have finally realised I had just one assignment, my son, and when God is done, He is done.

“He chose Saul to be king, and when He was done, He told the prophet Samuel I have moved on. Religion was never an issue between us; please refer to my interview on News Central TV. Instead, His Majesty has a picture he would love the world to see and perceive him as and another one which is his true self.

“Today I announce the beginning of a new dawn and the close of a chapter. Today, I am a mother to God’s unique gift. I am no longer a slave to my thoughts of perfection. I, at this moment, announce that I shall no longer be referred to as wife to the Ooni of Ife or as Queen of Ile-Ife but as the Queen of the people and mother of my adorable Prince”.

Hizbah dismisses reports on invitation of newly crowned Miss Nigeria, Garko’s parents

The Kano State Shariah Police, Hizbah Board, has dismissed reports that the newly crowned Miss Nigeria, Shatu Garko, and her parents had been invited for questioning over her participation in the beauty pageant.

Garko, 18, beat 18 other contestants to win the 44th edition of the Miss Nigeria beauty pageant held last Friday.

She was the first woman in Hijab to win the competition.

The Commander of the Hisbah Board, Sheik Harun Ibn Sina, had in a chat with the BBC Pidgin on Wednesday in Kano, said the girl’s parents were invited to let them know that it was unIslamic for their daughter to partake in any beauty contest.

He said: “We (Hisbah) have confirmed that Shatu Garko is a Muslim from Kano State and her parents are from Garko Local Government Area.

Kano is a Sharia state and this is why we will not allow the matter to go like that. We will invite the parents to warn them about the actions of their daughter and the fact that what she did was illegal in Islam in case they don’t know so that she will not continue that path and also stop other girls copying her.”

However, the agency’s Director-General, Dr. Aliyu Musa Kibiya, who addressed journalists in Kano, said the board never invited the girl or her parents for questioning.

He said the Hisbah’s commander only stressed that participation in a beauty contest was sinful.

Kibiya said: “We never at any time issued any instruction inviting the girl or her parents for questioning.

“It was fake news. Hizbah only preached against the immoral acts of nudity and revealing the forbidden parts of the body of a woman which is sinful.”

Group urges Army to respect female soldier’s decision to marry corps member

A group known as the Women Empowerment & Legal Aid, on Monday, asked the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Farouk Yahaya, to respect the decision of a female soldier, Private Sofiyat Akinlabi, to marry a male corps member.

The Chairperson of the group, Funmi Falana, in a letter to the COAS, demanded the immediate release of the soldier who had since been detained by the military authorities after accepting the marriage proposal of an unnamed corps member at the National Youth Service Corps Orientation Camp in Yikpata, Kwara State.

The Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, had earlier said that Akinlabi violated military laws by getting involved in a public display of amorous relationship with a paramilitary trainee, vowing that she will be punished.

However, in the letter titled, ‘Request for the Release of Private Sofiyat Akinlabi’, the wife of the Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, said the female soldier “has not contravened the regulation on restriction of marriage for three years”.

The restriction of a female military personnel from contracting any marriage for three years upon enlistment which is not applicable to male military personnel is illegal and unconstitutional,” the letter added.

Falana argued that no male soldier has been punished for proposing to a love interest in public as seen on social media. therefore, declared the detention of Akinlabi illegal.

“In view of the fact that male soldiers have not been penalized for involving themselves in a public display of amorous relationship in full military uniform the threat to sanction Private Sofiyat Akinlabi is discriminatory.

“In view of the foregoing, we urge you to use your good offices to order the release of Private Sofiyat Akinlabie from further custody. Furthermore, her decision to marry the male youth corps member should be respected as both of them are entitled to freedom of association guaranteed by Section 40 of the Constitution,” the letter added.
