Celebs who have had drastic body changes

There is no such thing as a perfect body, but it is understandable that many people, including entertainers, always want to look their best. As a result of this, many entertainers have undergone surgical procedures and devised other means to get the bodies of their dreams. Saturday Beats takes a look at some entertainers that have had drastic body changes

Eniola Badmus

Actress, Eniola Badmus, has lost tremendous weight in the past months. According to her, she had often been taunted for her weight over the years, and that motivated her to shed some kilogrammes.

In an interview with City People Magazine in December 2021, Badmus said, “In terms of my look, a lot has changed due to a decision I made. With the pressure and stigma I have gone through, I want to change that. I want to surprise everyone and also help myself.

“Things got to a point that I could not control what I ate anymore. I eat anything, so far it is edible. From there, I knew something fishy was going on. So far, I have lost 33kg.

Though some people insinuated that the actress went under the knife, she has neither confirmed nor denied it, but some of her staunch supporters insist that she was able to lose that much weight by dieting and observing a fitness regimen.

Tonto Dikeh

Controversial actress, Tonto Dikeh, has not been shy to admit that she had a medical procedure to achieve kind of body she desired.

In August 2021, she said, “I have laughed a lot lately on the subject that if one does surgery, one should not use a waist trainer. Listen up, people; you need a waist eraser/trainer to follow up on your lipo (liposuction).

“Your gym has to be your best friend too. I am personally too lazy for that, so I opted for non-surgical body enhancement.

“Liposuction is simply taking fat from one part of one’s body to another part. One eats every day, so fat will ‘grow’ back. I have had two liposuction procedures, and I am waiting for my third, though I stay fit.”

Nina Ivy

A former Big Brother Naija housemate, Nina Onyenobi, aka Nina Ivy, said she opted for cosmetic surgery because there were some outfits she could not put on without wearing body shapers. She added that having cosmetic surgery meant she did not have to wear body shapers anymore.

In an interview with Saturday Beats in July 2021, she had said, “I have always wanted to make some changes to my body, especially after the birth of my child. Since I made that decision, I feel great and love my body more. I always had to wear body shapers with certain outfits but now, I don’t have to. My advice to people who troll celebrities that undergo cosmetic surgery is that they should channel their energy into things that will be beneficial to them. They should let people live their lives.”

Mercy Eke

The season four winner of BBN, Mercy Eke, is another person who has been open about her decision to undergo cosmetic surgery. Speaking in an interview with media personality, Temisan Okomi, in June 2022, Eke said, “I did it for myself. I did it to enhance (improve) my confidence. I want to look good in whatever I wear. I’m into fashion. I ought to have a certain type of body.

“I feel like those who are hiding the truth probably don’t have the confidence. They feel like they did it (surgery) for someone. But, I did it for myself. I did it to sell my business. I don’t think there is anything to be ashamed of in enhancing one’s body.”

Eke also stated that people who bleach their skins and fix eyelashes in the same category as those who do cosmetic surgery.

Khloe

Another former BBN housemate, Oluwabusayo Abiri, aka Khloe, admitted to doing cosmetic surgery to achieve a curvy look. However, she stated that if she had another opportunity to do it again, she will not accept it because the procedure was very painful.

In an interview with media personality, Temisan Okomi, in October 2021, Khloe said, “If I am given N100m and told to do another surgery again, I won’t do it. It is painful.

“Do you know that having surgery for any part of one’s body, or even taking an injection is painful? Now imagine the extra pain of removing and adding.”

Ever since she acquired her new body, the ex-BBN housemate has constantly flaunted it on social media with many drooling over her.

Lepacious Bose

Comedian and actress, Bimbo Ogunboye, aka Lepacious Bose, used to be known for her plus size. However, she drastically shed some weight, which got many people talking. According to her, the process took a lot of hard work, commitment and discipline.

In an interview with Premium Times in October 2017, Lepacious Bose, spoke about her weight loss journey. She said, “I tell people that there is nothing miraculous about weight loss. I was actually losing weight right under their noses but they did not notice it. I began my weight loss journey about four years ago and I have not stopped.”

Speaking further, Ogunboye noted that the cyber bulling she faced after she lost weight came as a surprise to her. She said, “I used to think that when I lose weight the whole world would love me and celebrate me for it. But, that was not the case for me at first. The avalanche of criticisms and cyber bullying I faced came as a rude shock to me. People said so many negative things about me online.”

Princess Onyejekwe

A former BBN housemate, Princess Onyejekwe, got many people talking after her body changed drastically. Though some people opined that it was a result of cosmetic surgery, she did not respond to those claims.

In an interview with Saturday Beats in June 2019, she said, “Nobody has really come out to ask me what I did with my body and until they come out to do that, I don’t feel the need to give anyone a response. I did not do anything to endanger other species on earth. Whatever I did was with me. They are rumours and it is fine. That is what happens when one is in the spotlight.”

Toke Makinwa

Actress, media personality and socialite, Toke Makinwa, has been vocal about her decision to undergo cosmetic surgery. She has also advised women to embrace it if they so desire.

In a November 2020 episode of her YouTube series, ‘Toke Moments’, she maintained that she did not regret taking that decision. She said, “Yes, I worked on my body, but my breast is real. I had a lip filler because I wanted to launch my lipstick brand, but now I don’t think it is necessary (anymore).

“Also, I enhanced my body after I underwent surgery to remove fibroids. I did that because I wanted to feel better in clothes. I do not regret enhancing my body. It is the best thing I have ever done. I wanted to look curvy and I love it.”

Arsenal ready to break bank to splash €100m on Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen.

Premier League side, Arsenal are reportedly preparing to make a second offer for Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen,  to match the €100m (£86m) price tag, Napoli are asking for the 23-year-old.

This comes after Gunners’ first €60m bid was rejected by the Italian club on Monday, June 13.

According to Italian daily, La Gazzetta dello Sport, Arsenal are keen to sign the 23-year-old Nigeria international as a replacement for former skipper Alexandre Lacazette, who rejoined Lyon on a free this summer.

“Arsenal are gearing up to enter talks with Napoli for Osimhen and are keen to sign the €100m valued striker. Manchester United are also keen on a move but the Gunners hold the edge for the time being,” the report said.

“The deal could be concluded later this month, allowing Napoli to immediately reinvest the funds and carry out a decent transfer window.”

The striker, who scored 18 times and made six assists in 32 games last season, is also attracting interest from other top European clubs.

We haven’t spoken in a long time – Master KG speaks on alleged rift with Nomcebo after their ‘Jerusalema’ hit.

South African music producer, Master KG has opened up on his alleged rift with singer Nomcebo Zikode after their “Jerusalema” hit.

KG who produced the song, told DRUM that they have a misunderstanding which might be resolved. He also admitted that they’ve not spoken for a long time.

The music producer said;

“There is no drama with me and Nomcebo, just a misunderstanding here and there.

“The issues are with her and Open Mic, not me. We don’t have an issue, well, from my side. She said she was not paid. At the end of the day, the masters are owned by Open Mic, both her and I are just performing artists, and they need to resolve the issue with splits and stuff.

“We haven’t spoken in a long time, I see her posts and I like them. I also understand that she is busy, and we are always touring. Maybe soon, when the matter is resolved we will get together and celebrate the success of the song.”

KG also said he will like to work with Nomcebo in the future.

“I would definitely like to make more music with Nomcebo in the future. She has her own unique style and her own way of making things happen. I believe the success of the song was not from one side. It was me and her getting together and making it happen.” he said

“Jerusalema” is the biggest song the two of them have released to date. Ordinarily, it should have been a cause for unity and celebration. But it has somehow divided them.

In July 2021, South Africans were startled after Nomcebo revealed that she had not been paid her royalties despite Jerusalema’s international success.

Things got heated when Master KG quickly took to his Twitter to denounce the claims, alleging that the vocalist had received money, but later deleted his tweets. He accused Nomcebo of being greedy for allegedly demanding 70% royalties from the song instead of the agreed 50%.

Responding to this, Nomcebo made it clear that the producer was not her boss and that her issue is with the record company.

Portable calls out Burna Boy for allegedly copying his style.

Fast-rising Nigerian artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has called out colleague, Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, for allegedly copying his mannerisms and style.

The Zazu singer took to his Instagram page on Wednesday where he posted a clip of Burna Boy saying, “akoi grace, akoi mercy, akoi blessing, akoi space, akoi biza biza. Blessing follow you.”

According to Okikiola, the phrases are part of his mannerisms and have become synonymous with his brand.

He also referenced a tweet where Burna Boy posted a picture of Portable and captioned it, “Deep down I really want this to be my album cover. Love, Damini.”

Following the outcome of today’s game, the Super Eagles now top the Group A standings with six points followed by Guinea Bissau on three but with a game at hand.

Peseiro eyes AFCON qualifiers group top spot.

Super Eagles coach is hopeful of upstaging Guinea Bissau at the top of Group A of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, after their clash against island country Sao Tome and Principe on Monday (today).

The game comes up in Marrakech, Morocco after the Sao Tomeans couldn’t present a suitable home venue for the qualification series.

The Eagles beat a stubborn Sierra Leone side 2-1 in their first game of the qualifiers in Abuja on Thursday but are placed second on goals difference after Guinea Bissau hammered Sao Tome 5-1 in their opening tie in Marrakech.

Speaking ahead of the tie against the Sao Tomeans, Peseiro said with his side’s pedigree, they deserved to occupy the top spot in Group A and would do so with a convincing style against their less-fancied opponents today.

AFCON 2023: Super Eagles Labour To Beat Sierra Leone In Abuja.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Thursday achieved a 2-1 victory over Sierra Leone in a Day 1 encounter of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification series at the MKO Abiola Stadium on Thursday.
The Leone Stars, who fought gallantly to come back from four goals down to tie the match 4-4 in an AFCON qualifier against Nigeria in Benin City in November 2021, showed they mean business as early as the 4th minute when a rasping shot from Mohamed Turay was tipped over the bar by Francis Uzoho.
Two minutes later, a good pass by Aribo was followed by a teasing cross from Calvin Bassey but Victor Osimhen’s header failed to find the target.  In the 10th minute, a brilliant pass from Sadiq Umar found Osimhen, whose shot drifted away.
At the other end, just a minute after, Jonathan Morsay scored a stunning goal with a diving header from a beautiful cross by Musa Kamara.

Four minutes later, the advantage could have been stretched for the visitors when they hit the upright on another counter-attack.
However, in the 16th minute, Nigeria were level when an exchange of passes between Alex Iwobi and Moses Simon ended with the former emphatically finding the far corner of goalkeeper Mohamed Kamara’s post.
Three minutes later, Kamara saved a strong Moses Simon header, and in the 35th minute, Musa Kamara came close with a stinging grounder as the visitors swarmed forward once more.
Four minutes before halftime, Osimhen scored Nigeria’s second when he drove the ball into the roof of the net from a Simon header off Ola Aina’s cross from the right.
In the second half, the game flowed from one end to the other, but Nigeria should have made it 3-1 in the 58th minute when Iwobi ansd Osimhen carved open the visitors’ defence, only for Samuel Chukwueze to get too much purchase on his shot and drag it wide.
Aribo, Osimhen and substitute Ademola Lookman all missed chances as Nigeria pushed for another goal, but in added time, it took Aribo’s last-second intervention to deny the Leone Stars.
The Eagles pocket three points and are top of Group A, as they head to Agadir, Morocco for their Day 2 encounter against the ‘The Falcons and True Parrots’of São Tomé and Príncipe on Monday evening.

Rapper Falz releases fifth studio album, BAHD

Nigerian rapper, songwriter, and actor Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz the Bahd Guy, has released his fifth studio album titled BAHD, in the wee hours of Thursday.

The new album, released under his self-owned record label, Bahd Guys Entertainment, comprises 12 tracks and features Nigerian stars like Tiwa Savage, The Cavemen, BNXN, LAX, Chike, and new Mavin Records signee BoySpyce.

BAHD comes three years after Falz’s last studio album, Moral Instruction, in which the 31-year-old heavily sampled the late Afrobeat icon, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, and dealt extensively with socio-political themes including government corruption, religious hypocrisy and terrorism, and failing moral standards on the part of Nigerians.

His new album departs from that political tone, settling instead for the comic and light-hearted themes for which the rapper first came to be known.

Falz has since grown a reputation as a musician with a political streak since he, alongside colleague Runtown, led the first round of protests in Lagos State during the EndSARS campaign of October 2020.

Last Saturday, the rapper announced that he will be hosting a music concert on June 11 at the Tafawa Balewa Square, adding that only those with Permanent Voter Cards or temporary voter slips will be allowed entry.

FRENCH OPEN – PROTESTER TIES HERSELF TO NET, DURING MEN’S SEMI-FINAL.

In an unexpected turn of events, play was temporarily halted during a French Open men’s semi-final match on Friday after a protester ran onto the court and tied herself to the net.

The woman, who was wearing a shirt that had “We have 1028 days left” printed on the front, interrupted the match between Marin Cilic and Casper Ruud at Court Philippe-Chatrier in Paris.

Unclear what exactly the woman’s motive was for interfering during the contest, but security officials moved quickly to ensure she caused no harm to the players.
Ruud was astonished at the site of the woman on the court … and he actually had to stop serving for several moments as guards worked to get her off the net.

Security ultimately carried the woman, whose identity remains a mystery at this time, off the clay so the match could finally resume.
Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a demonstrator try to have their voice heard by causing a disruption at a live sporting event.

During the Minnesota Timberwolves’ play-in game in April, a woman glued her hand to the court’s floor in protest of the team’s owner.

Hollywood actor, Ray Liotta to be honored in hometown of Union Township, New Jersey following his death at 67.

Late Hollywood actor, Ray Liotta will be honored in his hometown of Union Township, New Jersey following his death at 67.

The Goodfellas actor died in his sleep in the Dominican Republic, on Thursday, May 26.

The iconic actor had been shooting the film Dangerous Waters in the Dominican Republic when he passed.

Mayor Manuel Figueiredo has now revealed that plans are being made to honor the actor, who died last week at the age of 67.

Officials in Union Township are considering naming a youth baseball field in honor of his performance as Shoeless Joe Jackson in the 1989 classic Field of Dreams, TMZ reported. Figueiredo said plans would not be finalized until Liotta’s family has had time to grieve his passing.

The actor, best known for his roles in Field of Dreams and as Henry Hill in 1990’s Goodfellas, was lauded by local officials in the wake of his passing Thursday.

‘He had those two movies back to back, at the beginning of his career – that’s a good twin bill there,’ the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission’s executive director Steven Gorelick told NorthJersey.com following his passing.

Gorelick said Liotta’s death hit him with ‘the same force as when James Gandolfini died,’ referring to the late Sopranos actor who died at 51 in June of 2013. ‘Both Jersey boys through and through.’

Liotta and Gandolfini both appeared in the 2012 crime drama Killing Them Softly, and Liotta had also stepped into the Sopranos franchise with his dual roles as ‘Hollywood Dick’ Moltisanti and twin brother Salvatore ‘Sally’ Moltisanti in last year’s The Many Saints of Newark.

Gorelick noted that Liotta’s iconic sequence in Goodfellas, during the day leading up to Hill’s arrest, was filmed in the state.

‘Those scenes where he was driving around in a cocaine-fueled state, that was done in Fort Lee,’ he said.

Liotta, who was engaged to Jacy Nittolo, was inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame in 2016.

A$AP Rocky Shares His Hopes of Raising a “Cool” Child After Welcoming Baby With Rihanna.

More than two weeks after Rihanna and A$AP Rocky welcomed their first child together, the rapper is speaking out about his hopes of fathering his newborn son.

A$AP Rocky knows exactly what kind of parent he wants to be to his son.
Two weeks after he and Rihanna welcomed their first child together, the 33-year-old rapper is sharing how he wants to parent the newborn.

“I will always remind my children to never lose their imagination, even as adults, no matter what,” he told Dazed May 30. “I actually love to watch cartoons—I’ve watched like, Teletubbies, Blue’s Clues, Yo Gabba Gabba, Peppa Pig and Baby Shark.”

A$AP added, “I hope to raise open-minded children. Not people who discriminate. And I’m not trying to describe a saint, but realistically, I just want a cool child with cool parents.”
And who is cooler than Rihanna?
On May 13, the “We Found Love” singer, 34, gave birth to a baby boy in Los Angeles.

In January, the couple—who began dating in 2020—revealed that they were expecting their first child by sharing images from their maternity shoot, which featured A$AP and Rihanna taking a stroll in New York City as she showed off her bare baby bump through a long pink coat and low-rise jeans.

The following month, the mom-to-be told E!’s Justin Sylvester that it was tough keeping the pregnancy news from her close friends.

KIM AND PETEA LITTLE KISS, A LITTLE TONGUE!!!

Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson are more than ready to show the world — they’re in love.

They posted vid Sunday … matching from head to toe. They both have bleached their hair blonde and are decked out in black outfits. And, then … they kiss for all to see. And, then show a little tongue!

Most people thought this would be a short-term, rebound relationship for Kim, however, it’s clearly anything but. They did a photo shoot together last week and they’re not fixtures in each other’s life.

This is all going down in L.A. Pete, a lifelong New Yorker, is spending a lot of time on the West Coast, and he seems poised to move out here permanently after his exit from ‘SNL.’

Kim’s no longer walking on eggshells over all the Kanye drama. She even lashed out at him on her Hulu show, essentially saying she made a mistake protecting Ye at the expense of her family.

That said, they still have to co-parent their 4 kids, but it seems intermediaries are handling a lot of the details. They rarely if ever speak anymore.

JOHNNY DEPP WHAT, ME WORRY?! Rocks Out At Jeff Beck Concert.

Johnny Depp is not sitting at home anxiously waiting for the jury to decide his fate … he’s rocking out in England, and one of the songs has a title at the heart of the trial.

Johnny hit the stage with Jeff Beck in Sheffield England Sunday. Beck’s touring the U.K. and Johnny made a surprise appearance, and the crowd went wild.

Depp joined Beck for their 2020 collab, “Isolation.”  But, the ironic moment … they covered Marvin Gaye‘s “What Going On.” Slap a question mark on the title, and that’s precisely what the jury is deciding.

They also performed Hendrix‘s “Little Wing.”

There’s a buzz Johnny might perform Monday and Tuesday night with Beck at the legendary Royal Albert Hall in London, but a Tuesday performance seems improbable. The jury is deliberating that day and could reach a verdict, and given the drama and Johnny’s commitment to the trial, it’s almost certain he wants to be in position in case there’s a decision.Depp dyed his hair for the performance, it’s much lighter than how he appeared in court.

As he testified, he came to Hollywood expecting to be a musician, which is his passion. He formed an epic band back in 2015, the Hollywood Vampires, with Alice Cooper and they frequently played at the Rainbow Bar & Grill on the Sunset Strip.

Erik ten Hag has been unveiled at Old Trafford, as new Manchester United manager.

Erik ten Hag has been unveiled by Manchester United at Old Trafford as the club’s new manager.

On Monday morning, May 23, Ten Hag was shown around the stadium by director of football John Murtough, ahead of his press conference.

Another picture showed Ten Hag holding Manchester United’s 2021/22 season kit and posing for the cameras.

Speaking to the club website, Ten Hag said: “I would say the word ‘exciting’. I really look forward to doing this job, at this club with massive history, and we want to restore it where it belongs.”

The Dutchman replaces Ralf Rangnick, who was the interim manager after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was fired.

United finished in sixth place this past season and have just gone five years without winning any silverware.

Ten Hag believes United are better than the league position this past season suggested, adding: “Also know one year ago, this club, this team was second in the Premier League. There’s potential and now it’s up to us to get that out. It’s a process, it will take time but I’m convinced we will come to that point where we get success. We have to work hard and it has to be based on the right philosophy and strategy.”
