Influencer, Papaya Ex’s security man absconds after allegedly stealing her 3 phones, jewelry

Nigerian Instagram celebrity, Abike Arab Money also known as Papaya Ex is on the hunt for her security guard who fled after allegedly stealing her personal effects.

The Influencer’s close friend and colleague, Danny Walter disclosed that the security man absconded with Papaya’s three phones, her jewelry set as well as her clothes.

He warned people to be wary of the cooks and security men they hire as he also revealed that the man disappeared since Thursday night, 20th of May, 2022.

Taking to his Twitter account, the influencer wrote;

”Y’all be careful with your cooks and security Men.

Papaya just got all her jewelry, clothes, Saving box and 3 phones stolen by her security man and he’s nowhere to be found since last night.”

Actor Stanley Nweze accuses AMVCA organizers of nepotism, says it’s all about Lagos

Nollywood actor and movie producer Stanley Nweze has taken to his social media platform to accuse organizers of the African Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA) of nepotism and favouritism after they failed to honour moviemakers from Enugu and Asaba.

According to Nweze, the movie ceremony which was established to celebrate excellent creatives in the film industry does not acknowledge those outside the vicinity of Lagos State.

Nweze went on to state that the award should be renamed ‘Lagos/Lasgidi Awards’ as there are talents across the country that do not receive proper recognition for their works.

Speaking further via his Instagram stories, Nweze mentioned that AMVCA organizers should create more categories so that other creatives outside Lagos environs can receive adequate acknowledgment for their contribution in the entertainment sector.

Following the news, he was lambasted on several social media platforms, so this forced the Nollywood star to say he would speak up.

Nigerian singer, Raoul John Njeng Njeng, better known as Skales has said what Banky W meant when he said described him and Wizkid as his retirement plan.

In 2010, when Banky was introducing Skales and Wiz to the world, he said that they are his retirement plan as they were his new signees at the time.

During a recent interview on IONWANNATALK Podcast, the presenter questioned him about the EME boss statement being controversial and unacceptable.

Skales, however said that he did not see anything wrong with what the record label boss said.

He defended Banky by saying that it was just a phrase which he used to inform people that he made a positive investment by signing both of them.

Singer Jaywon calls out D’Banj, accuses him of stealing artiste’s song

Nigerian singer, Oluwajuwonlo Iledare known professionally as Jaywon has called out music star, D’Banj over intellectual property theft.

Jaywon, in a post on his Instagram page, accused D’Banj of stealing a song belonging to an artiste under his management.

He said that the ‘Why Me’ crooner had called him to ask that his artiste drop his song but they declined the request.

However, D’Banj and his team still went ahead to release the song without permission or clearance.

Jaywon wrote; “After calling to ask my artist to drop his song and we refused your offer then you went ahead to release the song. Abah @iambangalee and management. You can do better”

Portable declares for presidency under two parties, shares campaign poster

Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Habeeb Okikiola better known as Portable has declared his intention to join the presidential race in what looks like ‘cruise’.

The music star made this known via his official Instagram page on Thursday, May 12, 2022 as he shared his campaign poster.

Portable is vying for the highest office in Nigeria under two political parties, the All Progressives Congress, APC and Social Democratic Party, SDP.

He described himself as a candidate running to become the youth president after listening to the cries of the people.

In the campaign poster which contains the logos of both APC and PDP, he wrote;

I have money and fame but no real friends – Zinoleesky laments

Nigerian singer, Oniyide Azeez, known professionally as Zinoleesky has lamented over his inability to get real friends.

Taking to his Twitter account, the Marlian Music artiste stated that it is difficult to find true friendship despite having money and fame.

16-year-old Nigerian actress to play lead role in ‘Karate Kid’ remake

A 16-year-old Nigerian-born American actress identified as Damarea Ogbuewu has been assigned to feature as the lead character in the remake of the popular international movie, Karate Kid.

According to a source, Damarea was selected to feature in the lead role after Hollywood actor Jaden Smith who played the role of Dre Parker in the 2010 version of the Chinese movie failed to reprise his role following his father’s controversial demeanor at the 2022 Oscars Award ceremony.

Ripples Nigeria has confirmed that the budding thespian, Damarea will star as Jade Reed in the Karate Kid remake.

Equally, Chinese movie legend Jackie Chan who served as Jaden Smith’s trainer in the most recent version of the movie in a now-deleted tweet revealed on Wednesday, May 4 that the production of the 2021 version of Karate Kid has commenced.

Seven students storm the streets of Ibadan to protest over ASUU strike

No less than seven Nigerian students on Tuesday, staged a protest in Ibadan, Oyo state against the persistent strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.

The students who were holding placards, assembled in front of the University of Ibadan and demanded that schools be reopened.

It was gathered that security was beefed up at the main gate of the University to forestall the breakdown of law and order.

The inscriptions on the placards read: ‘No to Commercialization of Education,’ ‘We align with ASUU in its demands’, ‘Our future is in jeopardy’ ‘No resumption of academic activity, no 2023 general election’.

A spokesman for the protesting students said; “We have given the parties involved in the crisis enough time to resolve their differences Enough is enough.

“The Federal government and its relevant agencies are toying with our careers and future.

With the prolonged ASUU strike, we have stayed beyond the duration of years that we are supposed to spend. A 4-year course duration has been extended to 7 years.

We are tired of staying at home. The Federal government should do the needful by shifting grounds, and critically looks into and grants the request of ASUU.”

Nigeria Police PRO celebrates popular Yoruba actor, Owolabi Ajasa on his birthday

Yoruba movie star, Owolabi Ajasa turned a new age on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022, and got a special birthday message from the police.

The actor is popularly known for playing the role of a police officer in Nollywood movies.

Force HQ Public Relations Officer (PRO), Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi celebrated Owolabi via his official Twitter account.

Adejobi shared a photo of the actor in his signature police uniform and described him as the Area Commander of Nollywood. The Force PRO then prayed for God to bless Ajasa as he adds a year to his age.
