The state’s Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Bagega, who paraded Babatunde at the command headquarters in Ilorin, said credible intelligence on the gang’s activities led to the arrest of the man in the state capital.

Bagega, who said organisers of the party had advertised the show on social media for prospective attendees, added that they planned to hold the event in lounges, clubhouses and service apartments within the city.

He also disclosed that the organisers of the nude party fixed N20,000 per head as a gate fee for the event.

21-yr-old 400L student of Oduduwa university arrested for internet fraud

The Osun State Police Command has arrested one Musa Mohammed Musa, a 400 level student of the Political Science Department of Oduduwa University, Ipetu Modu, Osun State for allegedly defrauding unsuspecting Nigerians using the internet.

Police sources told Ripples Nigeria that Musa had opened a fake Twitter account in the name of a popular social media personality, Jaruma Empire, through which he garnered more than 10,000 followers before luring and duping some of them with ‘giveaways’.

The suspect was also alleged to have perfected the act by opening an account with Access Bank Plc in the name of Nigeria’s leading logistics company, GIG Logistics, through which he defrauded several victims by asking them to pay money for freight into the account.

Ripples Nigeria also gathered that Musa, on receiving money transfers, immediately proceeded to block further communications with his victims.

The bubble, however, burst when in September 2020, a customer alerted GIG Logistics via its Twitter handle that someone had opened an account in their name at Access Bank to receive freight charges from customers online.

Investigations into the criminal act, inside sources said, commenced with formal petitions lodged with the Lagos State Police command at Ojuelegba and State Criminal Investigation Department in Panti, Yaba.

Months of painstaking probe were said to have led police detectives to Abuja where Musa had registered a telephone line for his nefarious activities.

The lead eventually led the police team to Modomo in Osun state, from where detectives pinned down the suspect in the Moore area of Ile-Ife and got him arrested.

Musa was said to have been arrested with a laptop and an exotic phone.

Police authorities at Moore, Ile-Ife confirmed that investigations were on-going to identify and arrest other members of the internet fraud syndicate but that a case file was being prepared to charge Musa to court.

SPORTS COACH HAS BEEN SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS IN JAIL FOR ASSAULTING ALTHETE

A South Korean sports coach has been sentenced to more than 10 years in jail for sexually assaulting an athlete.

Former speed skating coach Cho Jae-beom was found guilty of assaulting champion Shim Suk-hee ahead of the 2018 Olympics in the country.

The coach only admitted verbal and physical abuse against the athlete.

The allegations were first made in the wake of the #MeToo movement when a number of South Korean athletes accused their coaches of abusing them.

Olympic short-track speed skating gold-medallist Shim Suk-hee first accused her former coach in January 2018, when she said he had repeatedly assaulted her since her teenage years.

She said he had beaten her since from the age of seven – and had even broken her fingers with an ice hockey stick.

Other athletes then came forward and Cho was eventually sentenced to 10 months in jail for assaulting Ms Shim and three other skaters.

But in a fresh complaint filed in December 2018, 21-year-old Ms Shim came out to accuse Cho of sexual assault.

She says the sexual assault started in 2014 when she was still a student and continued until shortly before the Pyeongchang Olympic games.

Her fresh charge of sexual abuse led almost 250,000 in South Korea to sign a petition demanding a longer jail term for the coach.

Mr Cho denied the allegation against him and said verbal and physical abuse against Ms Shim had been intended for “discipline”.

The court also ordered him to do 200 hours of sexual offender treatment and banned him from working with children and youths for seven years.

“As a result, she became pregnant and was recently delivered of a baby through Caesarian Section.

Alleged pension thief, Maina begs court for another bail over deteriorating health

The former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reformed Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Maina, has pleaded for another bail at the Federal High Court, Abuja, to enable him to seek a medical attention for his worsening health.

He made the request in a motion on notice filed by his counsel, Anayo Adibe, dated December 24, 2020 with charge number: FHC/ABJ/CR/258/19.

The counsel said the application was vital because his client’s worsening health required urgent medical attention.

When the matter came up on Wednesday, Justice Okon Abang adjourned its hearing till February 1.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned Maina in 2019 for alleged N2 billion money laundering.

He was granted bail in December 2019 and remained in custody due to his inability to perfect the bail conditions.

Maina was eventually released after the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Nigerian Army, Ali Ndume, intervened and agreed to stand as his surety.

The ex-pension task team chief later jumped bail and absconded to the Niger Republic.

The development forced Justice Abang to revoke the bail and issued a warrant for his arrest.

Maina was arrested in the Niger Republic and extradited to Nigeria on December 4, 2020.

FIVE METHODS SINGLE LADIES USE TO REFUSE PROPOSALS

It is a common occurrence especially in this part of the world to refuse or be indifferent to proposals; especially courtship and marriage proposals. Naijapremiumgist posts Five Ways Single Sisters Say ‘NO’ to Brothers’ Proposals.

  1. Ignoramus Approach: Here, such ladies will pretend as if they don’t understand what you mean whenever you talk about love.

E.g: Bro: “Sister Elizabeth, I really like your dimple, and your smile makes me think about heaven.”
Sis: “Awwwwwww… Bro Emmanuel, Nice lines you’ve got there. You should be a poet. Well, I like my dimple too. May we never lose sight of heaven, my brother.”
Bro: “What I mean is, I believe you are the one for me.”
Sis: “But I heard that there’s always more than one person for each of us who are God’s children.”
Bro: “True.”

  1. Judas Methodology: This entails the classic kiss-and-kill style of the biblical son of Iscariot who betrayed Christ. Such sisters send a lovely message full of hope and then kill that tiny hope with a damning followup.

Bro: “I think I’m beginning to like you more and more, Sister Grace.”
Sis: “I really like you too. I especially like your long and firm fingers, and the way you use them to play piano. You must play piano for me and my husband when I marry. Please, say Yes.”
Bro: “But what about what I just said.”
Sis: “Sincerely, I like you too. But I love Bro Victor more than you by far.”

  1. Ghost Mode: In this method, the sister will ‘ghost’ you completely, they will just swerve your proposal. Sometimes, the brother will even begin to think that she didn’t read or hear the love manifesto.

Bro: “I believe God has led me to you. And I really like to settle down with you as my life partner.”
Sis: “Have you eaten?”
Bro: “Please, I’m serious. Tell me what you think. I really need your response.”
Sis: “This Lagos traffic is something else.”
Bro: “Yeah. But don’t you like me at all?”
Sis: “Have you read the new CNN report on Lekki shooting?”

  1. Maradona Style: This is common with ladies from a particular tribe in this country which I can’t mention in public. Sisters who adopt this method will leave such brothers confused and bamboozled by the time they finish with him.

Bro: “I am in love with you.”
Sis: “Love? As how?”
Bro: “As in, I really want to marry you and spend my life with you.”
Sis: “When did you start loving me?”
Bro: “About a year ago.”
Sis: “How did you know it was love?”
Bro: “Well, I find myself always thinking about you.”
Sis: “But you think about food all the time too na.”
Bro: “True, but that’s different.”
Sis: “Okay. I like you too sha.”
Bro: “Thank God. I’m very happy. So can we start a relationship?”
Sis: “No.”
Bro: (Scratches head) “Ermm… But I thought you said you love me.”
Sis: (Smiles) “Well I said I like you. I didn’t say I love you.”
Bro: “Ah! Sister Blessing!”

  1. Philosophers’ Logic: Sisters using this platform to shatter brothers’ hearts usually employ a lot of explanations and critical questions about life. At the end of the proposal, the brother may even start wondering why God created this world of vanity.

Bro: “So, what do you think? Do you also feel the same way I feel about you?”
Sis: “Feelings are a funny thing, I must say. And they are quite ephemeral.”
Bro: “Hmmmm…”
Sis: “Yeah. I mean, look at the case of Samson, do you think Delilah didn’t love him?”
Bro: “Well, I don’t think so.”
Sis: “I beg to disagree. What is love? Let’s start from there. What’s the existential meaning of love?”
Bro: “Hmmmmm…”
Sis: “Do we really feel love, or love feels us? What comes first, humans, or love?”
Bro: “I just want to know how you feel about me.”
Sis: “We will getting to that soon, let’s trash this issue first.”
Bro: “Hmmmm… Na wa o”

We believe the piece is amusing and highly instructive.
