SP Benjamin Hundeyin who is the spokesperson of the Lagos state police command has said that Nigerians have a right to record a police officer who stops them for a search, but wonders why they do their recordings to “taunt, provoke or sometimes obstruct the officers carrying out their duties.”
He shared a copy of the criminal act which states that assaulting a police officer or obstructing him while carrying out his duties is guilty of felony and liable to three years imprisonment. See his tweet below…
