A Jos Magistrate’ Court on Wednesday sentenced a 24-year-old trader, Godwin Uchendu, to two years’ imprisonment for stealing a drum of palm oil worth N450,000 .
The magistrate, Shawomi Bokkos, summarily tried and sentenced the convict who pleaded guilty to the charge.
The magistrate gave the convict an option of fine of N150,000.
Prosecution counsel Ibrahim Gokwat told the court that the case was reported at the ‘B’ Division Police Station on April 13, by Ibeh Godwin, the complainant.
Mr Gokwat said the drum of palm oil worth N450,000 was recovered during police investigation.
