Samuel Namale, Abubakar Sodiq and Frederick Sumbi have been compelled to camp at the Lusumu river bank until the body of their companion is recovered. The men have been spending long days and nights at the river bank for more than a week and will still do as long as the body of their friend is still in the river.

Samuel Namale, Frederick Sumbi and Abubakar Sodiq have overcame hot days and nights keeping vigil at River Lusumu in Butere sub-County for seven days in accordance with Luhya cultural dictates..
Their companion, Victor Wekhova, 27, was carried by the river as they were fishing together in the river before being carried away by seething waters about seven days back.
The three are still camping at the river bank. It does not matter how long for the body to be found – they are not permitted to change the garments they had on when the misfortune happened that would outrage their dead companion, as indicated by their customs.
