If it’s not marriage or work-related, I don’t understand what’s pursuing people out of their parent’s house to live alone – Nigerian lawyer

A Nigerian lawyer has questioned young adults who are eager to move out of their parents’ houses to start living alone.

In a Twitter thread, the learned fellow who goes by the name Foundational Nupe lawyer on Twitter, stated that except for marriage or work, he doesn’t understand why some young people move out of their family house.

He opined that for some, they move out of their parent’s home so they can have space to carry out their ‘irresponsible activities,’ and this has elicited mixed reactions.

While some supported his line of thought, others said it is important that a young adult moves out of their parents house so they can grow independently.

Elon Musk explains why he is buying Twitter, as he appeals to advertisers

With his deal to purchase Twitter for $44 billion set to close on Thursday, October 27, the world’s richest man, Elon Musk has appealed to advertisers saying that he is buying Twitter because it is a cornerstone of civilization and that it would help humanity.

Musk’s appeal comes amid claims that he will turn the company into a cesspool of free-for-all commentary, and that many people with extremist views may have freedom to post when he becomes the owner, a move that will put off advertisers.

Posting on his Twitter handle on Thursday October 27, Musk promised that Twitter will not be free for all after he acquires it.

‘Twitter obviously cannot become a free-for-all hellscape, where anything can be said with no consequences! In addition to adhering to the laws of the land, our platform must be warm and welcoming to all,” he tweeted via a note.

“Twitter aspires to be the most respected advertising platform in the world that strengthens your brand and grows your enterprise. To everyone who has partnered with us, I thank you. Let us build something extraordinary together.

“In his note, Musk comes across as a more serious owner of Twitter compared to his joke earlier in the day when he tweeted the video of him entering the Twitter HQ with a toilet sink. He captioned his tweet, let that sink in!

Around the same time, Musk also changed his Twitter bio to “Chief Twit.”Revealing why he is buying Twitter, Musk wrote,

“The reason I acquired Twitter is because it is important to the future of civilization to have a common digital town square, where a wide range of beliefs can be debated in a healthy manner, without resorting to violence.”

“That is why I bought Twitter. I didn’t do it because it would be easy. I didn’t do it to make more money. I did it to try to help humanity, whom I love. And I do so with humility, recognizing that failure in pursuing this goal, despite our best efforts, is a very real possibility.” he added.

Musk launched his bid in April this year to buy Twitter for around $44 billion. However, he soon backtracked, saying that he was no longer interested in buying Twitter because according to him the company inflated its number of actual and active users.

Twitter denied the allegations and filed a court case against Musk. Later Musk told the court that he would complete the deal and the court asked him to do it by October 28.

@Elkrosmediahub who shared photos of what looks like a charm, said it was discovered after he decided to renovate a new space he got.

He tweeted; Took a space in Lagos recently, didn’t like the flooring, so I decided to break the tiles and add flooring amongst the renovation I was doing there. My tiler sent me these images yesterday. Said he found them buried under the tiles

Asked the facility manager and they said it was a woman that left before the last guy that used the space.

Advice? If you can, always renovate. Change the floor and the POP. Humans are weird in this part of the country. It’s fine if you don’t believe in juju and stuff tho.

Man seeks advice for his friend whose wife started acting strangely after relocating to the UK with him

A Nigerian man has taken to Twitter to seek for advice for his friend whose wife started acting strangely after relocating to the UK with him.

According to @iMotivateAfrica, the agreement between his friend and his wife was for him to be a scholar while she works full time.

The Twitter user added that while his friend goes to school and works only 20 hours per week, his wife was working full time and was making more money than him.

He added that their marital issue began in the first quarter of this year as she stopped dropping money weekly. The Twitter user wrote;

So last year July, my friend tied the knot with the love of his life of 4 years. It looked like a promising union but we were wondering why man rushed because he was barely 26 and she was 23 years old. As a matter of fact, he just got a job of 90k VAT inclusive.

A month after their union, he called me that he was in the UK already with his newly wedded wife. I was so happy for him and I wished him good success even as he was far away from home.

Apparently, he is the scholar and his wife is the dependent. I.e, He goes to school and has only 20 hours to work per week while his wife was working full time and was making more money than he was.

The problem started in the first quarter of this year as she stopped dropping money for weekly as planned since she is automatically the breadwinner. My friend said

“She started from picking suspected calls, staying late out after work and refusing to drop money to sort the weekly bills which is supposed to be the plan.” Note: The whole japa tingy was an all expense paid relocation by the guy (my friend).

The problem has now escalated because my friend needs to pay the remaining school fees as it was half he paid before they both moved to the UK. Initial Plan: I go to school while you work and when I’m done with school, you will go to school while i work too.

Question is, what do women really want? Also, what advice do you have for my friend because as it now, he does not even have money to pay for school fees.

Lastly, is the lady seeing another person? (She fit don see person wey get P.R). My friend will be reading y’all tweets.

Opinions differ as Twitter user advises people not to return to work after resigning even if their employers offer them a pay raise

A debate is currently holding on Twitter after a user shared some interesting advice to employees.

In his Tweet, @charles_dairo wrote;

”If you tell your boss you’re resigning and they respond by offering you higher pay or a promotion, don’t take it. Just move on.If they knew you deserved a higher pay and could afford it, they shouldn’t have waited till you decided to leave.

2. They may not be able to afford to pay you more, so the offer may not be sustainable.

3. They may not like that you “won” and start treating you differently.

4. They may be trying to buy time so they can fire you when it’s convenient.”

While some Twitter users agreed with him, others wondered why they will turn down a pay rise.

According to them, they are working to make money and not just for the boss.
