Ghanaian police arrest Shatta Wale for claiming to have been shot

Ghanaian singer and rapper, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has been arrested by the Ghana Police Service for playing a prank where he claimed he had been shot.

The artiste was on Tuesday, declared wanted by the police alongside two other persons.

It was gathered that Shatta Wale eventually turned himself in on Tuesday night around 8:59pm.

Photos of him in handcuffs are currently circulating on the internet.

Police also said two other persons connected to the artiste have been arrested over the “fake shooting incident”.

The two suspects namely; Kojo Owusu Koranteng and Eric Venator, according to the police, circulated the false information with regards to Shatta Wale being shot and the media also carried the story.

The police said the act by the two men caused fear and panic.

Omoyele Sowore shot by Police in Abuja

Former Presidential candidate and Sahara Reporters Publisher, Omoyele Sowore has allegedly been shot by police in Abuja, multiple sources confirmed.

The incident happened on Monday morning during a protest against insecurity at the Unity Fountain in the Federal Capital Territory.

CorrectNG learnt that Sowore sustained an injury from the shot and has been rushed to a hospital for medical treatment.

Human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong confirmed the development on Twitter.
