The National Council on Examinations (NECO) has extended the deadline for candidate registration for the 2022 Higher School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for school-based candidates.
The deadline that was previously set for Monday, May 30, has now been extended to midnight on Monday, June 20, 2022.
Azeez Sani, the head of the examining body’s information and public relations division, announced the extension in a statement on Monday.
However, Sani did not give specific reasons for the extension, but insisted that the new deadline will be sacrosanct.
The release added that the exam is scheduled to begin on June 27, 2022 and end on Friday, August 12, 2022.
The statement is read in parts; “State ministries of education, directors, commanders and all stakeholders are urged to note that there will be no further extension after that.
“The 2022 NECO High School Certificate Examination (SSCE) will begin on June 27, 2022 and end on Friday, August 12, 2022.”
The statement further noted that candidates must be tested on 76 subjects in the exam.
School-based candidates are currently taking part in the ongoing West African Higher School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) which is conducted by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
