Why I may never work with Kizz Daniel again – Peruzzi

Nigerian singer Tobechukwu Victor Okoh, popularly known as Peruzzi, has said he may never work with his colleague, Kizz Daniel.

He said he and Kizz Daniel worked on a song titled ‘Gwagwalada’ but the Fly Boy boss gave the song to another artist, BNXN, a.k.a. Buju.

Peruzzi said he wasn’t consulted before Kizz Daniel went ahead to release the song with BNXN and Seyi Vibez.

Speaking in the latest episode of the Zero Conditions podcast, he said, “Kizz Daniel and I made ‘Gwagwalada’ together but he gave the song to Buju.

“I called Kizz for a collaboration. He came and played random songs, then he played ‘Gwagwalada.’ And he said he wants to call Buju so we can decide on the song. He called him, the guy came. He sent me the song there, and I went home. Only for me to see that they’ve dropped the song one day without anybody reaching out to me.

“So, I don’t think I will be working with Kizz Daniel anytime soon. Right now, I don’t think so.”

I haven’t gone to church since I met Davido – Peruzzi

Popular Nigerian singer, Peruzzi says he believes in God but has not been to church since meeting DMW boss, Davido.

He made this known in his feature on Joey Akan’s ‘Afrobeats Intelligence’.

The Rum and Boogie album creator, also spoke on his time as a church keyboardist and his days of being in the choir saying: “Yeah, Assemblies Of God. Choir, play keyboard, that P. At Assemblies of God, Acappella. If you’re not playing instruments, acapella.

If you’re playing instruments, it has to be the full thing. Everybody is singing; backing up, harmonizing.

Treble, alto, tenor, bass. Everybody is doing everything. I learnt to harmonize everything, I learnt to make music sweet. So that was where it (melodies) came from. Childhood experience is the foundation of my whole life.

“I haven’t gone to church since I met David. I haven’t been to church in like four years. But yeah, I believe in God.

“…I’ve always seen myself as a star before I met anybody in this industry, I used to act like ‘people are watching me.’ I didn’t have no drip, but I’d make sure that I’m not wearing any fake Gucci, I’m not wearing any fake Versace.

I’m wearing plain white shirt. I had my way that I’m going to be something. I didn’t know how, but I knew, ‘guy, I’m going to be something.’ I was already acting like I was. When David met me, I was branding myself already.

He knew there was a wave. It’s been like that because I always felt like if you know you want to get somewhere, just start preparing yourself for it. [It] wasn’t really fake-fake, ’cause I didn’t rock no fake sh*t. But I faked being a star.”
