Tatjana Patitz, a German-born supermodel and one of the foremost catwalkers of the ’90s, has died at the age of 56 following a battle with metastatic breast cancer.
A representative for Patitz confirmed the sad news and cause of death to several outlets including Women’s Wear Daily and Vogue.
“Tatjana was always the European symbol of chic, like Romy Schneider-meets-Monica Vitti,” the fashion bible’s editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, wrote in a Vogue-published obituary.
“She was far less visible than her peers — more mysterious, more grown-up, more unattainable — and that had its own appeal.”
During her career, Patitz hit the runway for many top fashion brands, including Chanel, Vivienne Westwood, Alaïa and Helmut Lang. Her last catwalk appearance was in 2019, modeling for Etro. Considered one of the original supermodels, Patitz rose to fame in the ’80s and ’90s.
Patitz appeared on more than 130 magazine covers in her life, according to Elite. She was just one face among a sea of supermodels for Vogue’s 100th-anniversary cover in 1992, all of them dressed identically in white jeans and white button-down shirts tied at the midriff.
She also made her mark as a star of many music videos, and famously appeared alongside Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, and Christy Turlington in George Michael’s “Freedom ’90” music video in 1990.
She also starred in the Duran Duran video for “Skin Trade,” as well as Nick Kamen’s music video for “Tell Me.” In 2000, Patitz appeared in the Korn music video for the song “Make Me Bad.”
American influencer and Only Fans model, Courtney Clenney, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of her late Nigerian boyfriend, Christian Tobechukwu Obumseli.
Clenney, who is professionally known as Courtney Tailor, was arrested on August 10 as a suspect in Obumseli’s murder which occurred earlier in the year.
It was reported last week that policemen responded to calls at the couple’s Miami apartment on April 3, where Tobechukwu was found bleeding. Clenney was also found covered in blood at the scene.
Miami Fire Rescue personnel took him to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where a doctor pronounced him dead.
According to court documents obtained by E! News, the model pleaded not guilty to one count of second-degree murder with a deadly weapon via a written plea dated August 18.
She is also to be arraigned on the 31st of August.Clenney’s attorney, Frank Prieto, stated after her arrest that the move by the police was shocking because of “clear evidence of self-defense in this matter.”
The OnlyFans star charged with the fatal stabbing of her Nigerian boyfriend has demanded that the corpse of her ex be dug up. Courtney Clenney, 25, known on social media as Courtney Tailor, was arrested in Hawaii last month and is currently awaiting extradition to Florida.
She will face a second degree murder charge following the death of her boyfriend, 27-year-old Christian Obumseli, in April.
She has always denied the murder and claims that she acted in self defence. Clenney allegedly stabbed the 27-year-old Obumseli in the chest on April 3 following a fight at their luxury apartment building in Miami, as neighbours in the building, said they had a long history of domestic disputes.
Clenney’s defense attorney, Frank Prieto, claimed that she was forced to stab Obumseli after he grabbed her by the throat following weeks of stalking the OnlyFans star.
Courtney’s attorney is set to take to the stand later today, Friday, August 19, to make an official request on his client’s behalf that Obumseli’s body be dug up and inspected by medical experts. At the time of her arrest, Mr Prieto said:
“I’m completely shocked, especially since we were cooperating with the investigation and offered to voluntarily surrender her if she were charged. “We look forward to clearing her name in court.”
Despite Prieto’s claims that Obumseli was violent towards Clenney, a friend of the couple claimed that Clenney had been violent against her estranged boyfriend in the past. Also, video footage released days ago shows Clenney hitting Obumseli in a lift.

I’m just about to go on stage or something and this whole thing comes in my mind. It’s really sad.”
Following her being crowned Miss Universe, the Bollywood actress said she spent more time with family and less time focused on food and exercise. She added; “I’ve gone through that phase of my life where I used to feel bad about everything.“Now, I started loving everything. It’s okay to cry. Udeh Chiamaka Victoria, the model who displayed a blood-stained Nigerian flag while walking the Miss Africa Russian runway, says she has been receiving threats and insults from different quarters since after the video went viral.
The Russia-based fourth-year medical student had provoked controversy on Tuesday after the viral video showed her holding up the red-stained flag while appearing on stage at the pageant in Moscow as Nigeria’s representative.
In a chat with BBC Igbo, the Lagos-born model from Anambra explained that the act was never intended to tarnish the image of her country.
What I did was actually from my heart. I did it myself; no one told me to. It was a competition, a platform that was given to me. I used that platform to create an awareness of what is happening in Nigeria.
I did it duo to what happened on October 20 [2020]. I also did it because of the recent happenings now in Nigeria. It was basically to tell the world that we’ve not forgotten our fallen heroes, the Lekki protesters who died.
“I did it to also portray recent happenings because there are still killings, insecurity, rape, and all of those things. The flag signifies everything. That category was the ‘Tradition Cultural or National Costume’.
“I felt that I should dress as a nationalist to portray what is happening. I never thought it was going to go viral at all. I don’t know who shared it with bloggers. Right now that it has gone viral, I have received a lot of threats.
“I have received a lot of insults but it’s okay. People who got the message got it. For those who didn’t, it’s not on me. It was never my intention to tarnish the image of Nigeria. It was me creating an awareness that we need help,” she said.
Before now, Bovi, a comedian, pulled off a similar act at The Headies 2021 with a blood-stained #EndSARS-themed outfit.
