MC Oluomo’s Pro-Tinubu Rally Holds In Lagos

The chairman of Lagos State Parks and Garages management committee, Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo and other supporters of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu are holding a rally in Lagos State on Sunday.

The march commenced at the Teslim Balogun Stadium and will terminate at Oshodi.

In the video, MC Oluomo and his members are seen wearing the same new uniform with the inscription ‘LASPG’.

Lagos police commissioner meets MC Oluomo, Istijabah on NURTW crisis, warns against violence

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, on Monday, urged factional leaders of the Lagos state chapter of the National Road Transport Workers (NURTW) to caution their members against violence.

The CP, according to a statement issued by the spokesman for the state police command, Benjamin Hundeyin, made the call at separate meetings with the former Chairman of NURTW in the state, Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo; and Chairman of the Tricycle Owners and Operators Association of Nigeria (TOOAN) in the state, Azeez Abiola, aka Istijabah.

TOOAN is an affiliate union of NURTW.

Akinsanya, who is now the Chairman of the Lagos State Parks Committee, and Abiola have been at loggerhead over the control of the union in the state.

At the meetings, Alabi warned the duo the command would not hesitate to arrest and prosecute anyone causing trouble in the state.

The CP stressed that he would not let anything undermine the relative peace in the state.

He urged the factional leaders to caution their supporters against any act of violence in Lagos.

The statement read: “The warning has become imperative following incessant clashes, fracas and malicious damage to property recently experienced in some parts of Lagos State mostly linked to the issues surrounding the management of motor parks within the state.

“In line with this stance, all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and tactical commanders have been directed to deal decisively with anyone found instigating or causing a breach of peace within their respective areas of responsibility.”

Governor Sanwo-Olu gives MC Oluomo fresh appointment after NURTW sacked him

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu, has appointed former National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) boss, Musiliu Akinsanya alias MC Oluomo, as Chairman of Parks Management Committee.

The new appointment was contained in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotosho.

MC Oluomo was named in a 25-man committee set up by the Lagos state government to oversee the affairs of all motor parks and garages in the state.

Recall that the NURTW sacked him as the chairman of the union days ago, and dissolved the Lagos State council.

Omotosho said, “The Lagos State Government has set up a committee to oversee the affairs of all motor parks and garages in the state.

This is in fulfillment of the government’s promise to ensure that events in the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) are not allowed to threaten law and order.

The government has, therefore, exercised its constitutional powers to ensure that no vacuum, which can disrupt the peace of our dear state, is allowed to exist in the parks.”

MC Oluomo sacked as Lagos NURTW Chairman, state council dissolved

The National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, has sacked the Lagos state chairman, Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo and dissolved the Lagos State council.

The decision was announced in a joint statement signed by National President, Tajudeen Baruwa, and General Secretary, Kabiru Ado Ya’u.

NURTW, in the statement titled ‘Dissolution of Lagos State Administrative Council’, said the decision was based on the provisions of the union’s constitution.

The group subsequently declared the Lagos state secretary, Seyi Bankole as the new head of NURTW in Lagos.

MC Oluomo has been sacked as Lagos chairman. We had a meeting last night. We have replaced him,” a national officer of the union told The Punch.

MC Oluomo was earlier suspended for alleged insubordination, and later granted pardon by the National Administrative Council, NAC on the condition that he apologises, but he is alleged to have refused to do so.

#EndSARS protesters reject food, drinks donated MC Oluomo

#EndSARS protesters at the Lagos State House of Assembly on Friday rejected food and soft drinks sent by the Chairman of the National Union of the Road Transport Workers in the state, Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo.

The rejection was in reaction to an attack unleashed on the protesters by thugs at Ikeja, the state capital, on Thursday.

MC Oluomo was accused to have been the sponsor of the violent attack but his spokesman, Jimoh Buhari, denied the allegation.
