Nnamdi Kanu slams Kenyan govt with lawsuit

Nnamdi Kanu, the incarcerated leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has instituted a lawsuit against the Kenyan Government.

This was disclosed via a tweet on Thursday by Aloy Ejimakor, the Special Counsel to Kanu.

Ejimakor had tweeted, “UPDATE: Extraordinary Rendition: Onyendu’s legal team has filed a suit in Kenya against the Kenyan government.”

Ripples Nigeria had reported that Kanu was arrested in June and extradited to Nigeria to face trial for alleged treason after he had jumped bail since 2017

Speaking on the arrest, Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation, said that Kanu was “intercepted through the collaborative efforts of Nigerian intelligence and security services”.

Wilfred Machage, the Kenyan high commissioner to Nigeria, had denied the claim that Kanu was arrested in his country.

But Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lawyer to the IPOB leader, countered the position of the Kenyan government, saying his client was “illegally handed over” to the Nigerian government.

Kanu is expected in court in October. The Nigerian government has charged him with treason.

Buhari’s daughter, Zahra slams lawsuit against Sahara Reporters

President Muhammadu Buhari’s daughter, Zahra Buhari-Indimi, has issued a week’s ultimatum to Sahara Reporters to publish a retraction regarding “an injurious and defamatory publication” against her.

Zahra issued this ultimatum via a letter to the newspaper and signed by her counsel, Nasiru Adamu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), on Tuesday, March 9.

In the letter, she also demanded a public apology from the media outfit.

Sahara Reporters had reported that Nasiru Danu, a close ally of President Buhari and some top officials of the Nigeria Customs Service, recently defrauded the Nigerian government of N51 billion.

The newspaper also said the N51 billion was meant “to improve Customs’ revenue.

It said N2.5 billion was also transferred to a foundation owned by Mrs Indimi for which Mr Danu is a signatory.

However, in her response, Zahra denied all the allegations and demanded a retraction.

According to her, there was no way Mr Danu could be a signatory in a foundation she owned.

“Our client equally unequivocally states that no any foundation owned by her was transferred or credited with such amount of money (N2.5 billion or any amount) by the said Alhaji Nasiru Haladu Danu or anybody from the purported President Muhammadu Buhari’s oil mafia group and that it is equally not possible for the said Danu to be a signatory to any foundation owned by our client,” the letter said.

Pastor who accused Apostle Suleman of sleeping with his wife releases evidence of conversation with OFM founder

A former pastor of the Omega Fire Ministries International, Mike Davids, has released audio evidence on how the founder of the church, Apostle Johnson Suleman, allegedly threatened to “make him disappear.”

The audio excerpt which is currently marking the rounds on social media was on the alleged conversation between Apostle Suleman and Davids shortly after the former OFM pastor accused his mentor of sleeping with his wife.

In the audio clip which was sent to the Nigeria Police Force as part of a petition against Apostle Suleman, a voice purported to be that of OFM General Overseer was heard threatening to make Davids disappear.

The voice said: “I avoided you because of the way you talk but it is clear to me that you are possessed with a demon. The same thing that made me avoid you, you keep repeating them. You will die prematurely. God will punish you. Whatever you are looking for in this life, you will not get it.

“I stepped aside to make this call. You will die an untimely death. From the day I noticed you don’t know how to talk, I stopped talking to you. It is like you didn’t notice. I was free, I was chatting from the day I noticed your mind; you don’t know how to talk.

“When I noticed it because I am very temperamental; my temper is not good. That is why I am telling you tonight. I will make you disappear.”

When asked to explain what he meant by making him to “disappear,” the voice responded by saying “You are a bastard. Get off my phone”.

The call ended thereafter.

This came a few days after Pastor Davids filed a N20 billion lawsuit against Apostle Suleman for unlawfully interfering in his marriage.
