ICYMI: Maltina delivered an experience of a lifetime at the just concluded Durbar Festival in Kano

Maltina Brand Team led by the Chairman, Nigerian Breweries plc, Chief Kolawole Jamodu (Fourth Right) handed over new powerbikes, helmets and jackets to the Kano Road Transport Agency (KAROTA) in the Emir of Kano’s Palace, Kano Nigeria.

The Kano Emirate came alive with laughter, excitement and a dazzling show of rich cultural heritage as Nigeria’s number one malt brand, Maltina joined the people of Kano in the commemoration of the 2022 Eid-El Kabir and Durbar festival.

The festivities were graced by government officials, traditional leaders, dignitaries and thousands of visitors who came not just to celebrate the Eid-El Kabir but also to partake in the world’s largest and most impressive display of equestrian beauty and pageantry – the Durbar Festival. In true Happiness sharing spirit, Maltina kicked off the celebrations with a one-of-a-kind fun rally at the palace premises of the Emir of Kano, HRM Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero. The fun rally was a four-day long, mega event held at Maltina Happiness Park and was full of pomp, fanfare and of course thrills and excitements for the Muslim faithfuls who gathered to celebrate the Sallah festivities as well as enjoy the rich Cultural displays of the Durbar festival.

The Happiness Park was ostensibly designed with Northern themes and artworks to identify with the significance of cultural heritage of Kano. Attendees who came from all walks of life could be seen having the time of their lives at the Maltina Happiness Park and sipping chilled cans of the happiness drink while being entertained by top Northern Artistes including the popular Don R, Abdul One and many others. Indeed, it was an experience not to be forgotten in a while!

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the premium malt brand also donated brand new motorbikes to Kano Road Transport Agency (KAROTA), towards ensuring hitch-free traffic control and regulation during the festivities and also for the everyday use of traffic wardens in Kano.
Throughout the festivities, traffic control officials managed the influx of tourists and ensured a free flow of vehicles and pedestrians using the power bikes donated by Maltina.

The motorbikes were handed over by the Chief Kolawole Jamodu, Chairman, Nigerian Breweries Plc and received warmly by the representative of (KAROTA) MD, Alhaji Ahmed Isa Disu, the Revenue Director, who commended the generous gesture of Maltina, adding that it will go a long way toward minimizing traffic congestion on Kano roads.

As a consumer centric brand, Maltina has a long history of being a pivotal part of festivals and celebrations that serve to bring people from different parts of the Nation and all across the world together under the unifying force of cultural Celebrations. For the brand, it was a heartwarming exercise putting smiles on the faces of its Northern consumers and sharing happiness with them during the 2022 Eid-El Kabir and Durbar Festivals.
