Host of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija), Ebuka Obi-Uchendu has done a comparative assessment of the dress sense of the Shine Ya Eye housemates at the reunion show.
Ebuka, in a tweet on Saturday, rated the season 6 contestants as number one, noting that they are the best dressed set compared with all others that have come before them.
Best dressed set ??”, he wrote without any additional piece of information.
Housemates like Kayvee, Niyi and Sammie also mentioned other areas the excel at. Sammie said they are the best in ‘madness’.
Niyi noted that they are the best in terms of supporting each other.
Big Brother Naija host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, has revealed why a lot of steamy and intimate moments that occurred in the house were not shown on live TV.
According to the 5-time host, while a lot played out in the BBNaija house, some scenes have to be censored due to the regulations of the National Broadcasting Commission, (NBC).
Ebuka made this known in an interview with Beat FM while reacting to claims by fans that viewers are shown what the organisers want them to see.
He also refuted insinuations that he had any grouse against Erica.
I like Erica; I really like Erica, which is also funny because people thought that I hated her. She gave us good content; she and Kiddwaya.
“First things first, we live in a country that has regulations. We all know about the NBC; there are certain things we can never show whether we like it or not. I always say that the show would be a different show if it was not a Nigerian show or if it was not in Nigeria because of the kind of things that we cannot show. Those things are not in our call; it is just legal issues.
“Secondly, this talk about what we showed about Kiddwaya and Erica; we actually did not show anything about them if anybody remembers. Nothing was shown about them. We did not show anything. In fact, it was even Ka3na and Praise that people saw under the sheets.
A lot of these things happened under the sheets; so, we do not know what is happening. We are not going to send a ninja to remove the sheet so that we can get a good shot.
People say we showed some things that made Erica and Kiddwaya look bad and I ask how? How did we make them look bad? Everything that has been revealed on the reunion show is actually on air. It just so happened that people decided to assume what they assumed,” he said.
TV Personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu has been announced as host for season six of Big Brother Nigeria (BBNaija), making it his fifth consecutive year anchoring the reality TV show.
Ebuka who began hosting the show from its second season, confirmed his return for the show’s sixth season when he took to his social media page to break the news on Monday.
Well, guess who’s returning as the host of the next season of #BBNaija. Let’s go again guys,” he wrote on Instagram alongside a clip of himself from a previous edition.
Ebuka, who participated in BBNaija’s debut season in 2006, has been hosting the show since 2017.
The development comes less than two months after some Nigerians had called on BBNaija organisers to consider Frank Edoho, Nigerian broadcaster and filmmaker, as Ebuka’s replacement for the show’s sixth season.
Veteran TV show host and presenter, Frank Edoho has made a case for Ebuka Obi-Uchendu to continue as the host of Big Brother Naija after 4 years running.
His comment comes amid calls for a new face to be introduced as season 6 of BBNaija is set to begin in a few months.
It all started when a Twitter user opined that a lady known as Jollz would make a good host of the reality TV show, her post triggered a web of opinions as some said a female co-host should be added, another group called for Ebuka’s outright replacement, while others said that people like Nancy Isime and Frank Edoho would do better jobs.
However, Edoho did not buy into the idea of him being tapped to replace Ebuka. He said that if he was allowed to host WWTBAM for 13 years, why shouldn’t Ebuka who has successfully hosted it for four years, be allowed to host Big Brother even longer.
Taking to Twitter, he quoted a tweet calling for him to takeover from Ebuka and said;
What did Ebuka do to deserve all this? Why would you want to change someone that has done a show successfully for only 3 years and have him replaced with one who did WWTBAM for 13 years?
Leave Ebuka alone! Please.”
When a fan appeared to misunderstand his post, he replied;
No. No. No. That’s not what I meant. If I could do mine for 13 years, why shouldn’t Ebuka?”
