Housemaid arrested after stealing her boss’ expensive phone and gifting it to her boyfriend

A Kenyan house help who stole her employer’s valuables has pleaded guilty to theft charges.

Rebecca Isiche Embule was charged alongside her boyfriend Kennedy Kimanthi before senior principal magistrate Phillip Mutua at the Kibera Law Courts on Monday, August 10.

She admitted to stealing three sets of gold chains valued at Sh300,000, Sh90,000 in cash, and a mobile phone worth Sh40,000 at her employer, Maryann Abdi’s house in Royal Park Estate in Langata, Nairobi on August 2.

She later spent the night at her boyfriend’s house, gave him Sh1000 and the mobile phone she had stolen from Abdi and she left for Eldoret.

Abdi had gone to a hospital in South C when she received a phone call and was informed that Embule had left.

Embule was traced and arrested with a briefcase containing new clothes suspected to have been bought with the stolen money.

She led the police to Kimanthi’s who was found with the phone.

The police will determine their case today, August 10.

Moment gateman saved his boss from police after a long car chase (Video)

A video which has gone viral captures the moment a gateman helped his employer to avoid getting accosted by police officers.

It appears the police had engaged the boss in a hot pursuit for yet-to-be known reasons.

The security man had positioned himself at the gate as his boss who was in a red car drove speedily into the compound in a bid to evade the police officers who were trailing him in a police van.

There was a smart and calculated move by the gateman who opened the gate wide enough for his boss’ car to enter but he was also swift enough to close it before the police van had a chance to gain entry.
