Singer, Skiibii trolls Buju over his new stage name ‘BNXN’

Nigerian singer, Skiibii has trolled his colleague, BNXN formerly known as Buju over his recently changed stage name.

CorrectNG reported few days ago that Daniel Benson who was popularly known as Buju, officially changed his stage name to BNXN.

The fast-rising artiste, in a tweet, noted that his new name would be pronounced as ‘Benson’. He also said the change became necessary after he was mistaken for Jamaican singer, Buju Banton.

He wrote; “It’s no longer ‘Buju’. Call me ‘Benson’ written as ‘BNXN’.”

Reacting to the development, Skiibii took to his Twitter account and shared a photo of popular cigarette brand, Benson and Hedges with a dreadlock hairstyle on it similar to that of the Lenu crooner.

The ‘Sensima’ singer simply captioned the picture; ”Update”

Nigerian singer-songwriter, Daniel Benson, who was known professionally known as Buju, has officially changed his stage name to BNXN.

The fast-rising artiste took to his official Twitter page to announce the change, while noting that his new name would be pronounced as ‘Benson’.

In a video announcement he shared on Thursday night, the name change became necessary after the singer was mistaken for another Jamaican singer known as Buju Banton.

The tweet reads; “It’s no longer ‘Buju’. Call me ‘Benson’ written as ‘BNXN’.”

The ‘Lenu’ crooner was initially signed to Burna Boy’s Spaceship Collective in 2020 but did not renew his contract when it expired in 2021.

He explained that he decided to go independent because he ‘wants to do something new on his own’.
