Activist Aisha Yesufu found time this morning, to reply to a troll who attacked her on Twitter two years ago.
The troll had shared Yesufu’s family photo and stated that her two children did not participate in the EndSARS protest that rocked the country in October 2020.
Aisha spotted the Tweet this morning and sent a savage response.
She wrote;”Good morning @osquare78 Sorry I missed your tweet. Was your mother also at the protest? Did she stand in for you as I did for my children or she didn’t find you worth the effort?”
A co-convener of the BringBackourGirls movement, Aisha Yesufu, on Tuesday blamed religious leaders over some of the ills in society.
She said religious leaders are worse than politicians in Nigeria.
Yesufu, who stated these on her Twitter handle, was responding to a post by the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, William Kumuyi, who warned Christians not to despise those in government for failing to deliver on pre-election promises.
He wrote: “We teach that if you’re a genuine believer in [Jesus] Christ, you wouldn’t hate your neighbour.
“Nor would you disdain those in power because they appear not to be delivering on electoral pledges such that you would go on the rampage, destroying government property or pillaging the public till.”
In her reaction, the activists said the country’s religious leaders benefit from bad governance as it helps them to “sell cheap miracles and power points.”
Yesufu wrote: “Religious rulers in Nigeria are worse than political rulers.
“They keep the people enslaved. They also need bad governance to sell cheap miracles and power points!
Until you free people from the clutches of their mallams, pastors, dibias, babalawos & boka, nothing will change.”
Nigerian On Air Personality, Dotun has made a case for some youth activists at the fore front of the #EndSARS campaign form a political party ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The hypeman and show host took to his Twitter account on Tuesday, October 19, to state that it will be a good feat if celebrities like Falz, Mr Macaroni and DJ Switch as well as activists, Rinu Oduala and Aisha Yesufu were to form a youth-centric political party.
According to him, the momentum and support that has been garnered under the banner of EndSARS would be a game changer if channeled to politics.
Dotun then concluded that there is a need for young Nigerians to come forth with a candidate for the presidential election.

Frontline activist and co-convener of the #BringBackOurGirls movement, Aisha Yesufu, has blasted the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, and his Eastern Security Network (ESN), over a video the group posted on Saturday where members of the security outfit were seen chasing after some herdsmen and killing dozens of cows in the process.
Kanu had posted a video on his Facebook page of the security outfit’s invasion of the camp of the herdsmen in Isiukwuato, Abia State, where they chased out the herdsmen and killed some cows in the enclave.
In the video, the ESN operatives were also seen burning houses and cows belonging to the herdsmen.
On his Facebook page, Kanu had written:
“Video of men at work last night across all the towns and villages of the old Bende Division, especially Isiukwuato.
“ESN has commenced the combing of parts of Isiukwuato forests last night and engagement with the enemy is ongoing and will continue until they no longer present a threat to our communities along that axis.”
In reacting to the post on her Twitter handle on Monday, Yesufu described the situation as unacceptable and warned that Kanu and ESN were taking the laws into his hands as no one in the country has a monopoly of violence.
In the tweet, the activist wrote:
“This is absolutely not acceptable. We cannot have security outfits taking laws into their hands & maiming, killing & destroying properties. This is not acceptable.
“We must always remember no one has a monopoly of violence and intolerance and we can all be mad. Let the law guide us!”
In another tweet, she wrote: “Police will kill, they will have supporters. Soldiers will kill, they will have supporters. Hisbah will destroy people’s beers, they will have supporters. Amotekun will kill, they will have supporters. Eastern Security Network will kill cows, they will have supporters
Human rights activist and co-convener of the #BringBackOurGirls movement, Aisha Yesufu and former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, have slammed the Nigerian Army for deploying soldiers to Orlu local government area of Imo State where five people were reportedly killed in a clash between the soldiers and members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
Yesufu who took to her Twitter handle on Monday to condemn the invasion, said “it was worrisome how the army unleashed its men on harmless citizens,” and the resultant violence and killing of innocent residents.
According to the Media and Publicity Secretary of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Emma Powerful, in a statement on Tuesday, the soldiers drawn from 34 Artillery Battalion in Obinze had invaded the Orlu community on Friday in a bid to flush out the ESN operatives from the bushes they are operating from and in the process, killed five residents.
Tweeting on the invasion, Yesufu said:
“The ease with which the Nigerian Army is deployed against civilians should worry us all. What is wrong is wrong irrespective of who is doing it. If someone cries of marginalisation, don’t shut it down, listen.”
On his part, Fani-Kayode who also took to his handle to condemn the invasion, said:
“Unleashing your Army on ESN was not smart. No matter how many you kill, more will rise up. Tread with caution. Do not bite off more than you can chew. Violence begets violence. Both East and West are kegs of gunpowder. Do not light the fuse. Seek peace, not war.
“The clash between soldiers and members of ESN in Orlu, Imo State, has resulted in some deaths and this is unfortunate. I call for restraint on both sides. The soldiers ought to be deployed against killer herdsmen and not ESN. When will Buhari learn? Please stay safe.”
