Sowore kicks against arraignment of 75 protesters

Activist politician, Omoyele Sowore on Friday described President Bola Tinubu’s administration as a sadistic government.

Sowore was reacting to the planned arraignment of 75 #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protesters by the Federal Government.

The Nigerian government is set to arraign the protesters, who are minors, before Justice Egwuatu of the Abuja Federal High Court on November 1, 2024.

Sowore said most of the protesters had spent 80 days in detention.

Posting on X, Sowore wrote: “The sadistic regime of @officialABAT is set to prosecute 75 individuals affiliated with the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria movement on treason charges before Justice Egwuatu on November 1st, 2024.

“Several of these individuals -several of them minors- have spent 80 days in unjust incarceration before the sham trial is to commence. #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria #RevolutionNow.”

Nigerians took to the streets to protest against the hardship in the country from August 1 to August 10 under the hashtag, EndBadGovernanceInNigeria.

The protest was however hijacked by hoodlums who wreaked havoc on some of the protesters and vandalized some infrastructure across the country.

A team of combined security operatives arrested some of the protesters.
