Russian ferry loaded with fuel fall in Ukrainian attack

A Russian ferry loaded with fuel has been sunk by a Ukrainian attack, the Telegraph reports.

According to the report, the vessel was carrying 30 fuel tanks in the Russian port of Kavkaz in southern Krasnodar when the fire broke out.

Also damaged were jetty and port structures in the area, while any potential casualties were being assessed.

The report said more than 100 people were required to tackle the blaze. Photos on social media showed plumes of black smoke rising from the ship.

It also emerged on Friday that Russia had lost 605,330 troops since the start of its invasion of Ukraine in February of 2022.

The toll includes 11,190 casualties in the past day alone, according to the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces.
