UEFA have appointed Dutch referee Danny Makkelie as the man in charge of Tuesday’s match between Real Madrid and Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League’s Round of 16.
Danny Makkelie will referee the game between Real Madrid and Atalanta at the Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium, in the return leg of the Champions League Last-16 tie (Tuesday, 9pm CET). The Dutch match official will referee Zidane’s side for the first time in this competition.
Real Madrid have a 1-0 lead on aggregate, so any win and any draw would give them the ticket to advance to the Quarterfinals.
While the score on the first leg definitely makes Real’s job much easier, Los Blancos will still need to play with composure and effort. Atalanta have been improving in recent weeks and are a powerful offensive team, so it will be important for Madrid to be a solid defensive team on Tuesday.
