The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Fatima Adamu, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, saying that the arrest was made following a joint operation with the Nigerian Army, based on credible intelligence.
According to Adamu, the suspects were caught in Zango village, Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area, where they were allegedly involved in the destruction of Federal Government property.
“Following credible intelligence and in collaboration with the Nigerian Army, nine suspects in connection with rail-track vandalisation and wanton destruction of Federal Government property in Zango village of Tafawa Balewa LGA, Bauchi State, were apprehended,” Adamu stated.
She said that preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had traveled from Niger State specifically to carry out the act.
Adamu added that the Commandant of NSCDC Bauchi, Ilelaboye Oyejide, reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to its mandate of safeguarding national assets.
