Anthony Joshua speaks after stunning defeat to Dubois

In the aftermath of his devastating knockout loss to Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium, Anthony Joshua has broken his silence, sending a defiant message to his supporters.

Despite the shattering defeat, the former two-time heavyweight champion said he remains resolute in his determination to reclaim the world title again.

In a video statement posted on his X page on Monday, Joshua expressed his gratitude to his fans, saying, โ€œWe came up short, but look, we have to focus on all the positives. Thatโ€™s the mindset, and thatโ€™s the perspective we need to adopt โ€” a positive one.

โ€œLook at what weโ€™ve achieved in the space of 11 years; itโ€™s phenomenal, and I want to thank every single one of you who has been riding with me. What a rollercoaster journey, but you know what? The problem is that itโ€™s far from over yet.โ€

Reflecting on his career, Anthony Joshua acknowledged the challenges he has faced, stating, โ€œYou know weโ€™ve done it once, weโ€™ve done it twice. Doing it a third time hasnโ€™t been easy, but I believe itโ€™s something I can achieve.โ€

However, he remains undeterred, asserting, โ€œItโ€™s about making the right steps forward, working hard, improving, and it has to come from within more than anything; it canโ€™t come from any external voices or influences; itโ€™s got to come from here.โ€

Despite the setback, Joshuaโ€™s unwavering spirit shines through as he declares, โ€œItโ€™s only been a day, but when I sit back and think, I know Iโ€™ve got a lot of this man. I know Iโ€™ve got a lot of this, so yeah, just a video to say thanks for your support.

โ€œThanks for being on this rollercoaster journey with me. Keep your seatbelts tight because deep down, I know weโ€™ve got a lot more to bring โ€” a lot more to bring to the game, and long may it continue. British boxing, I appreciate you; we rise together. Letโ€™s go.โ€

This loss marks Joshuaโ€™s second career knockout defeat and casts doubt on his hopes of regaining a world title for the third time. However, the former champion has vowed to show his resilience and determination.
