The Michael Imoudu National Institute of Labour Studies has conferred the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, Prof Umar Danbatta, with the Fellowship of the National Institute of Labour.
Similarly, the NCC Director, Human Capital and Administration, Usman Malah, was honoured with the NIL fellowship.
This was made known in a statement by the Director, Public Affairs, Reuben Muoka, on Friday.
According to the statement, the Director-General of the Institute, Issa Aremu, while speaking at the event held in Abuja recently, stated that Danbatta was acknowledged for his outstanding contributions, along with those of his team, to enhance the Commission and the overall workforce of the nation.
Aremu said, “We have witnessed the amazing transformation in terms of broadband penetration, Internet subscribers and many other achievements recorded under the leadership of Prof Danbatta as the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC and how the telecom sector, regulated by the commission he leads, have improved national productivity.”
Malah who represented Danbatta at the event stressed the importance of jointly backing efforts that improve the welfare of Nigerian employees by expanding their access to cost-effective telecommunications services.
